Dangerous Games (Tempting SEALs #2)
by
Lora Leigh
Navy SEAL Clint "Iceman" McIntire didn't earn his nickname by being a coward. Or a quitter. Having crushed an infamous drug cartel in Colombia, Clint was nothing short of an American hero. Now he's home, on a much-needed leave, but instead of some R&R, he finds himself neck-deep in trouble with his best friend's little sister, Morganna Chavez, the only woman who has th...more

I really really liked this book! 4.5 stars... The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was that I thought it was about 30- 40 pages too long, and the story could have been wrapped up earlier. With that being said, I still really enjoyed it!
Morganna is a girly girl who likes to dance, party and have a good time! She's also very smart and serious about her career in the DEA. No one knows she's in the DEA however, because she knew that Clint- the man she's been pining away for since she was a kid...more

I'm really struggling with this series (I also read the first book in the Elite Ops series and was somewhat ambivalent about it as well). I know many love Lora Leigh but I'm not sure she works for me. Perhaps I should give one of her other series a try before I close the book on this author for good.

First off, Auntee, thanks so much for letting me borrow these SEAL books of Leigh's. I'm enjoying them a bunch!
Before I started this book, Auntee gave me a little forewarning that if I didn't like this one, to keep going with the series because it got better. So I wasn't really sure whether I'd like this book or not.
Turned out I loved it. A lot. Not quite 5-star LOVED, but close. I know some didn't quite like this book for a couple of reasons: it was tamer than Leigh's erotic-rom...more

Well, this is definitely a sizzler, let me tell you! I’ve now joined the Leigh club and got a taste of her writing.:)
Clint is strongest Uber Alpha I’ve ever read about. It took me a while to like him, because at first I wanted to tell him back off and shove it. As a child he had an abusive father, who took out his rage over his wife’s cheating on his son. Clint hid this from everyone, even his best friend, Reno. He spent most of his childhood at Reno’s house, and grew to like his younger sister,...more

DANGEROUS GAMES is the first in the TEMPTING SEALS series (after the novella in Honk If You Love Real Men: Four Tales of Erotic RomanceSteamy, passionate and action packed this is great romantic suspense. With a sexy yet tortured alpha-male hero, a spunky, stubborn female lead and a reunited lovers theme. Plus Ms Leigh can write a love scene like no other so if you want hot and steamy then this is your book. #2 Tempting SEALS - Romantic Suspense - 4.5 stars
Ultra-uber Alpha Clint McIntyre, on leave from his military SEALS duties, discovers his best friend's sister Morganna in a sex club, working undercover as a DEA agent.
Tough-as-nails Clint is thrown into the emotional stratosphere. He and Morganna have been flirting and dancing around each other for years, and he's determined as hell to watch her back (read: stalk her) until he can convince her to abandon her assignment "for her own safety."

When I started this book, I approached it with a bit of trepidation. I'd read some reviews of it where people were turned off by the fact Clint, the hero, was lusting after Morganna, his best friend's sister, from the time she was jailbait. Thankfully, LL skimmed rapidly thru that and by the time they did eventually give into their heated feelings for each other she was in her mid twenties.

Let me start by saying that I had been "warned" about Clint, the hero in this book, beforehand. Nevertheless, I decided to give him a chance since some readers really liked his "extreme alphaness". I could go for it, if he convinced me he truly loved Morganna, the heroine. Oh boy, what can I say now?...
Clint was a major jerk and I failed to see any redeeming qualities in him. There wasn't even a hint of groveling in the end to make him less undesirable. He just liked telling Morganna what to do,...more

This book was so bad that I would probably never read another Lora Leigh book again except I have read other books by her that were very enjoyable. The plot in Dangerous Games was not only weak but oh so boring. Lora did not take any time to investigate Navy Seals because she started the book out stating that Clint had joined the Army when he was in the Navy. Let's see, she also had Navy Seals based in Atlanta and killing people with total disregard for the law. Navy Seals are not spies/spooks w...more
Ladies. (And men.) All I can really say without ruining the GREATNESS that is this book is that you absolutely MUST have a towel handy. I am not even kidding you.
This was my first read by Lora Leigh but if her other works are anything like this she has now got herself a new, dedicated reader. I'm going to backstep just a minute before I talk about this book though. I love Linda Howard's romance novels. This was awful. It took me so long to slog through it because it was so mind-numbingly boring and made no sense it was hard to muster any interest in it. It seemed that Clint was made into this Dom type and BDSM was just thrown in because it was trendy. There is nothing BDSM-like in this book remotely realistic.
Also, I know very little about the military, but even I know that you don't join the ARMY to become a NAVY SEAL. WTF? Did the author do zero research? I mean just a simple google search c...more

Ok let me start off by saying I am a huge Lora Leigh fan... that being said, this book just really didn't do it for me. While I'm all for the hunky, alpha-man, Clint just wore on me. I understand he had a horrible childhood, etc., etc., but frankly I got tired of him using it as an excuse over and over again. He was convinced he could just have hot sex repeatedly with Morganna (who he has been basically in "love" with for 10 years) and that he could just walk away. Morganna, who when dealing wit...more
Erotic activities in sex clubs with good guys and bad guys. Ok but not recommended for buying.
I wasn’t emotionally drawn into the story. It was easy to put down. The ending was happy but didn’t elicit the emotions I like to feel at the end of the book. It was predictable. Nothing surprised or delighted me. The writing was ok. It didn’t have any of my major pet peeves.

Overall, I actually really liked this book. Morganna was tough, yet feminine and Clint was definitely Alpha, and tortured. What did bother me, was that I could not handle the fact that Clint kept rejecting her, for 8 freaking years. is he insane? And he keeps doing that later, when everyone knows that they love each other. For a Dom, he was pretty masochistic. Too much baggage, so not exactly my type. I think alphas who are just alphas because they are (not because of crappy childhoods) are my t...more
I have been enjoying the SEALs series (loving the first book I read, Wild Card - the first of the Elite Ops series, and learning the order of the books that actually begin with Reno's Chance)... but was sadly disappointed with Morganna's character in one area in this book that just got on my last nerve. Overall I figured there would be some repetition with the erotic portions of the book, but I'm more interested in the story line (don't get me wrong, I do love a bit of hot & heavy as well),...more
There are parts of this story that I don't remember. I am not sure why I wouldn't remember the last few climax scenes. Anyway this is Clint McIntyre and Morganna Chavez's story. Clint is 100% dominant alpha male. He is a SEAL. He also has a dark, abused past which has colored his perception of the future and the relationship that he longs for with Morganna. It is very sad and very frustrating for the reader and for Morganna. You want to shake him and make him see that he isn't like his father an...more

My Review:
This is a really powerful book. Unfortunately, I was reading it on a family road trip where my attention kept getting diverted from it. A particularly emotional scene that took only 3 pages in the book, took me about 3 hours to read because I kept having to focus on other things. I think that if I had been able to focus solely on the book, that it would have captured me more emotionally and rated higher in my estimation. Not that I didn't think that it was really good because it absolu...more

As a big fan of Lora Leigh, I liked this book a good deal though it wasn't my favorite. I was curious to read about Clint since he seems to irritate a lot of readers, even those who love Alphas. I really didn't think he was that bad as far as his controlling tendencies (keeping in mind this is fiction and not real life). In fact, he seemed to like it when Morganna didn't put up with his crap but gave it right back to him.

I liked the book a lot. I liked that Morganna was strong and didn´t just wait around to get her man. No, she was proactive from the get go.
And I liked Clint. The Navy SEAL Alpha man. And I like the BDSM theme.
I gave the book three stars because I thought the H/H changed a bit to much towards the end. I find it hard that such an assertive DOM as Clint should change his way so suddenly. The sex in the second half of the book wasn´t in character. And sometimes Morganna, who was supposed to be smar...more

This story was the second installment to the Tempting Seals series by Lora Leigh. I’d actually taken pleasure in reading this than the first book in the series which is “Reno’s Chance”. It definitely had more depth in its storyline and the secondary characters were really enjoyable and varied in their personalities that have lent a distinctive appeal to the story. The hero and heroine were both very strong in their characteristics, which also gave the story extra vitality. The interplay between...more

This book was pretty well-written, but the plot seemed a little trite. There were some sexy scenes in it, but they seemed to me to fall a little flat. The premise was somewhat predictable and there were no surprises. I can only give this book three stars. Two of the stars are for the author's ability to write. One star is for the interest she generates at the beginning of the book. I give no stars for the content or plot. It was disappointingly formula-like. I found myself not especially liking...more
I had forgotten how intense Lora Leigh was as an author. She grabs you by the "'nads" and doesn't let go until you're worn out and sweaty. That's what this novel is. Though I have to confess I felt a little confused through most of the novel. There is a back story to do with a drug cartel that is critical to the conflict and I kept wondering "huh?" about it a lot.

This book doesn't seem to quite know what to make of itself-- it's not a straight-up erotic romance like many other Lora Leigh titles, it's still much hotter than a 'typical' romance, it's not quite a full-on romantic suspense, it's not really about BDSM, it's a bit too long...
Tortured, uber-alpha hero Clint grated on my nerves a bit (I was seriously tempted to tell him to just shove it!), and Morganna alternated between kickass and I-love-you-I-need-you-oh-baby-oh-baby. But somehow they worked...more

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared.
