This was a very fast paced book to read through and if you have ever been in an abusive relationship this book will appeal to you. Not only does the author tell a suspenseful story about Rebecca, who has everything she always wanted. A loving husband, beautiful home and an enjoyable career keeps Rebecca from thinking about episodes in her past with a former boyfriend. There was a man who she thought she loved but came to find out that there is more to Roy than meets the eye and what she finds is...more

From my blog...[return][return][return]Returning Injury by Becky Due shows how far a woman, in this instance the protagonist, Rebecca is willing to go to be safe. Rebecca is a strong woman who has dealt with and to some extent is still dealing with her past. When Rebecca lived in Cheyenne, Roy Smythson could not get over her and he stalked her, went through her personal belongings, correspondence, as well as her garbage until one day he attacked her. Rebecca manages to get away and call for help...more

What..*dramatic pause* a trifling, triffling piece of garbage! This book was just bad on so many fronts it isn't even funny. So...let me touch on just a few:

1) First, in style, this book was incredibly superficially written. I ended up starting and finishing the book in 2 hours because I was able to read it so quickly and still get the gist of the storyline. The book used flash back to various scenes in the main characters life so much that one had to try to guess whether you were reading in the...more

7 years ago Rebecca was physically assaulted by a man named Roy. She was left with damage to one ear and emotional scars to last a lifetime. Through counseling and a positive support network, Rebecca makes conscious choices to not only improve her life but also serve others who have been in an abusive relationship.

Told in third person, the story flashes from present day to past tense easily, giving the reader a glimpse of Rebecca's journey. With her husband out of town, Rebecca has time to refle...more

Becky Due’s novel, Returning Injury, has a purpose, to encourage and empower wounded women. The story is interesting. Rebecca’s husband is leaving town, and she plans a long weekend catching up on a PR campaign for her new client—a woman who likewise has a purpose, to encourage and empower women. The client’s experience and research are well-presented, interspersed with frequent flashbacks and backstory. And a tension grows in the empty house as those flashbacks, brought to mind by Angie and Les...more

Recommends it for: every women
I connected with this book in so many ways, coming from an abusive relationship I saw myself in Rebecca and the fear and insecurites that she felt I felt. Becky Due has a talent for reaching into the depths of her characters and tranferring it to paper. I truely am a fan of her books and recommend all women to read her books.

Great story, unfortunately it did not pull me in as much as I would have liked. I did not feel her fear.
