It's going to be hard to review this without giving any real details away; it's only 12 pages long. I think that it's best to go into this one without prior knowledge of what it's about. The writing style is different, but it didn't take my brain very long to switch over to deciphering it. There's a lot of layers here. I read this twice through, just to see if my impressions would be the same with full awareness of the plot. The first time I found myself chuckling quite a bit - there's a dark hu...more

A short but very descriptive noir story. I love the detailed description of the bar and the the characters in the the bar. One on the authors best efforts. Before the ending you are not quite sure what to expect.

A very short story- took me less than an hour to read it. Not sure if I would have continued with it if it was longer as the language was a bit cliched for my taste but fine as a short story.

Nicely paced short story. The dialogue really punched up the personalities in this short. Nice description without being overdone. A quick, fun read!

The sshort story had a wonderful twist... Will be looking for more fiction by Mr. Martinez.

Great short story. "Picture what happens to the poet when the man who reads it isn't a good man."

Wow, what a unique and interesting story. Very dark content but the writing was very impressive.

I had goosebumps for a lot of the scenes so that's a good thing, right?

A short story, the likes of Ray Bradbury Theater.

Brian Martinez is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read. So far, I haven't run across anything I've read of his that I've disliked. A GOOD CLEAN, A HARSH CLEAN is no exception. This is yet another winner, a dark, edgy, noir-style short style written in his typical sparse style. No unnecessary clutter, no words used without a reason. Just a short & sweet dark little tale that you're bound to enjoy.
