This book includes phrases for every situation, including expressions for describing art that make one sound smart and cool. Use sweet words to entice a local beauty into a walk along the Seine, and less-then-philosophical rebuffs for those overly zealous, espresso-fueled cafe "poets." A lot of outdated and outmoded expressions. Also, on the chapter of sex the authors got really perverted, imho. Overall, nothing special.

Very good orientation to modern slang and idiomatic expressions. It is also a surprisingly good introduction to the deeper nuances of French culture because the book explains the thinking behind the words and expressions. Therefore, it gives you a good insight into the French spirit that drives their "joie de vivre".

It's all about context.

My biggest problem was how ridiculously male-centric it was. All of the sayings and jokes and situational examples were from the
