I adored the first in this series, but this second on kind of fell flat for me. The main characters didn't even talk to each other until about page 100. It seemed very slow to get to the point and when the point was made it was a rush to the end. I liked the characters individually but together I am not sure they had chemistry, and that could be because there wasn't a lot of the book that revolved around them being a couple, just their own battles that needed to be won. I am very much looking fo...more
I love a good cowboy—I mean cowboy story—and this is a good one. Forget about bygone times in the Old West, this is a contemporary story dealing with present day issues—sibling rivalry, jealousy, loneliness, and love.
Conner Creed is convinced his identical twin brother Brody seduced his fiancé before they disappeared ten years ago. If he wasn’t guilty, why did he leave? During Brody’s absence, Conner works the ranch and lives a lonely, solitary life. Then the quiet, lovely Tricia McCall catches...more

Creed's Honor by Linda Lael Miller
Tricia had to go to Colorado to deal with her fathers land and camp grounds.
While there she had several offers on the old outdoor movie theater and
land. The offers came from each of the twin boys.
Her great grandmother has an offer of a place to stay with a friend who is nearer
to her age with same interests.
When she returned to Seattle she went to see the guy she had had a few dates
with and he was with a female already. She was there to turn down his offer
to go...more

Note: This is the 2nd in this series by Linda Lael Miller with Conner being the Creed in the lead. This was such a sweet, down home love story that makes you smile when finished reading.
What I Loved: Conner and Tricia are both great leading characters. The attraction between them is sizzling but they both deny it from the beginning. I must warn that this is a slow building romance, they only have casual conversations in t...more

Linda Lael Miller just keeps on creating these tantalizing cowboy/rancher/alpha-male heroes that make us all drool and each of whom are unique and incredibly interesting. That the Creeds are a large family is no longer in doubt, but this trilogy of novels is highlighting a branch of the family that involve twins Brody and Connor Creed along with their cousin Steven who was raised with them after his parents' divorce. Steven is now living in Arizona with his new bride and his 5-year-old adopted s...more
Connor Creed has all but given up on his own dreams and has decided that he's going to follow in his uncle's boot prints and become a rancher in his hometown of Lonesome Bend, CO. I thought that the name of the town was more than appropriate for Connor and the way he happens to be feeling. Then his wild card twin brother, Brody, shows up which is difficult for Connor to swallow.

I received this book from Linda Lael Miller's publicist in exchange for a fair review.
Whenever we get a notice that there is a Linda Lael Miller book to review it's a done deal that I'll be grabbing it. I love a good cowboy book. Plus I've been reading all the books in Ms. Miller's contemporary Creed Series. Not surprisingly, there hasn't been a dud in the bunch. This new one is no exception.

Connor Creed discards his dream in order to stay at the family ranch while twin Brody joins the rodeo circuit. Resentment plays a huge part in his upbringing, coloring much of who he is and what he does, so meeting Tricia McCall, who runs her deceased father’s RV park part time and lives in Seattle the rest of the year puts her off limits for a romantic relationship. Or does it?

The second book in a trilogy highlighting the Creeds of Lonesome Bend, Colorado with Connor Creed as the hero. Missing his cousin Steven who has now settled in Arizona with his new wife and son, Connor is estranged from his brother Brody, champion rodeo rider and the twin that betrayed him years ago. Now he is living alone on their ranch and beginning to resent being a lone, needing to move forward with his life, and taking an interest in Tricia McCall, daughter of the now-deceased owner of some...more
Creed’s Honor was a book I selected at Net Galley and my first LL Miller book. I plan to buy A Creed in Stone Creek, the first in this series plus book three since I was very impressed with the story and Miller’s fine writing style.

I didn't think I'd like this book so much, but I really did enjoy it.
I read the synopsis, then looked up the series and found book #5 of Montana Creeds series (it looks like books 5, 6 and 7 are new generational add-ons to this series). I thought book #5 A Creed in Stone Creek sounded more my speed so I grabbed it instead (it was released in Feb of 2011). Read through that (I'll have a review posted) and then came to this book which is #6 in the series.

This is the follow-up to a book I read earlier this year. Modern-day Colorado. Life in a small town. The guy is a rancher with lots of family support. The gal runs a family campground that used to be successful. She has a great-grandmother who has a cat. The first thing that happens is a stray dog shows up at the campground, cowering under a picnic table. She takes him in and is looking for a permanent home for the dog. Then her best friend needs to go to Paris for two weeks, so she sends the 10...more

This was a fun romance. Tricia's grandmother is playing matchmaker. Tricia is the daughter of divorced parents, and like her mother, has always kept most people at arms length. Conner is an orphan raised, along with his twin brother and cousin, but his uncle and aunt. The cousin's story was told in A Creed in Stone Creek (my review) and in this book we learn why the twins won't speak to each other. Tricia realizes that she likes life in a small town and connections with people. Conner dares to b...more
I would give this 3 1/2 stars if I could. These family branch series by Miller are nothing spectacular or life-changing, but they are easy, romantic reads that make you feel good in the end. I was kinda of suprised with this one because after reading the first few chapters, with little to no interaction-action between our couple I was getting a little bored. However, I kept reading and before I knew it I was over half way thru the book. Conner is a likeable, handsome, honest cowboy looking for l...more
Connor Creed has given up his dreams to follow in his uncle's footsteps and become a rancher in Lonesome Bend, CO. The name of the town is more than appropriate for Connor and when his wild twin brother, Brody, reenters his life, he finds himself longing for the rodeo dreams he put aside. Brody stole the love of his life, which for Connor is difficult and he has a hard time reconciling his emotions. Linda Lael Miller's latest book in her McKettrick/Creed series "Creed's Honor" will be available on May 31, 2011. I was able to get a galley of this book to read before the official publication date. "Creed's Honor" is the second of Miller's new Montana Creed Trilogy that started with "A Creed in Stone Creek". I enjoyed "A Creed in Stone Creek" it had humor and characters I enjoyed reading about. I felt that "Creed's Honor" was just a filler between the first and last book in this latest trilogy...more
Well, if this ain't a classic case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Conner Creed is a honorable man, but a stubborn cowboy. A decade long falling out with his twin brother, Brody, has left him set in his ways while tending to the ranch that is equal parts theirs. Determination and responsibility have kept Conner rooted to his birthright, but Brody's long abandonment has only fueled Conner's anger and loneliness over the years.

Book review: Creed's Honor by author Linda Lael Miller
I've been a fan of Linda Lael Miller's for quite some time. I think it started when i read one of the McKettrick books with the four original brothers Holt, Rafe, Kade and Jeb (love those names). After i finished those i started looking at the rest of her books and have enjoyed quite a few. She is the very best at writing cowboys i think. Creed's Honor is the 2nd in her latest cowboy trilogy. If you've read Linda at all you know this is not...more

Linda Lael Miller can tell a good story. Her cowboys are legendary.
This is the second book of three featuring the twins Conner & Brody Creed and their cousin Steven Creed.
This book is about Conner Creed a hardworking small town rancher who is working to keep their ranching legacy in Lonesome Bend Colorado going.

Creed's Honor is the first book I've read by Linda Lael Miller. Even though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. The author did a great job of providing background information on other characters without bogging down the plot.

This book was lame. It started off good, but her books have become so formulaic -- there always has to be a dog, a kid.
SPOILERS! ??
The kid was unnecessary to this story as it wasn't either of the main characters. Then since there is a kid around, the main characters barely spend any time together and then suddenly, because it is getting to the right page in the book, they admit they are in love. I didn't really love Connor or the girl, whose name I can't remember now, but Connor has a twin bro...more

This is the story of both Connor Creed and Tricia McCall. Connor and his twin brother Brody inherit their father's ranch, but Connor stays and tends the ranch and Brody goes off to rodeo, creating resentment between the two. After her father's death,Tricia McCall has moved from Seattle in an effort to sell her father's land.

I have been reading Linda Lael Miller for close to twenty years and this book did not disappoint. She takes you into the lives of her characters with such descriptions that if they were to walk up to you, you would recognize them. Her depiction of the town and ranches paint a picture in your mind and as the story unfolds, you find yourself living a life right alongside them.

I'm not sure I liked this one as much as the first. I probably wouldn't classify it as a straight romance because there is very little romance in it. In fact, I'm not sure when Connor and Tricia fell in love. They have so little interaction in the book. It didn't seem real to me. IT was more like there had to be a happy ending, so she stuck them together and called it love. While I liked both characters on their own, I just didn't see them together. ON the up side, I did enjoy the interaction be...more
Sweet romance between shy young woman and local ranch owner Creed Conner develops in the fall, as she sells her family lands and he puts up with the return of his prodigal twin. What I don't understand is that she has apparently been staying in Lonesome Bend, Colorado - for a year and a half already, away from her previous Seattle boyfriend and she is just now running into Creed who is a local. They should have met and mixed much sooner, I think...

As a Linda Lael Miller fan, one that has all of her books even those written as Linda St James, I’ve read the best of her books and the worst. Creed’s Honor does not fit in either of those categories it is not the best nor the worst. This book took longer for me to read than any in the Stone Creek or McKettrick series. As a fan that looks forward to her new releases this was a disappointment, I expected to stay up all night and read Creed’s Honor but had no trouble sleeping. It is clear that Lin...more
