Wicked Desires is one of those books where my curiously got the better of me and I decided to give the book a try. I do not care for cheating plot-lines, regardless if the hero is cheating with his wife without realizing it (yeah, not the sharpest tool in the shed). That said, this book was an interesting and captivating read. The author did an excellent job with characterization and helping the reader understand the hero and heroine's aristocratic marriage during the Victorian era.

I chose Wicked Desires after seeing it had ménage scenes, but these are not the focus of the tale—they add a sexy element but also play a crucial role in showing Michael’s reasoning behind why he chose to visit a whore and why the other players are in the bedroom. I liked this reasoning, which showed a deeper side to his character and that although he visited a place he maybe shouldn’t have when he had a more than willing wife at home, his watching others meant, to him at least, that he wasn’t a ...more
Here's something for all you folks reading 50 Shades... WELL WRITTEN erotica, with a story and characters and really hot scenes. If you're looking for a Regency with accurate historical details, this isn't it, but it's not exactly inaccurate either. The sex follows from and is part of the story, and the characters are likable with a real problem and real lives.
I liked it quite a bit and plan on buying more from this author. You should give her money, so she writes more. (The Kindle edition of t
Wonderful book set in Regency England. The main characters, Michael and Clairrisa, are married with 3 young sons. Michael is having problems with impotency after seeing his wife being kissed by another man at a ball. Michael does not see the end result of that kiss and beings worrying about his wife taking a lover which seems to have been commonplace at that time. Clarissa is worried about Michael taking a mistress because he is tired of her. They are still very much in love but do not talk to e ...more

Real characters, real people, with real problems. Not unbelievable ones but ones very easily identified with. That's really what drew me in here. The hero and heroine are more my age than these young society teenagers going through theirs first coming out season. These people have lived, raised kids, seen life. They're more real to me than most characters in historicals. I love being able to identify with characters like that.

I think my friend Mary had the right of it. There are a lot of fan fi
Michael and Clarissa are fascinating. She pretending to be something that she's not, only to find out that she to has dark desires. I like the way the author gradually pulled you in Clarissa's world as she explored the pull she had in self discovering her own pleasures. I also like the she played against Michael's struggle to survive his own demons, yet succub to the pleases of his french mistress.

The bath tub experience tickeled me, who hasn't had an ackward moment, firs time playing with a sex

Oh my Goodness, oh my Goodness!!!
I've read a lot of tasty books but this one was something more!
I have to give my compliments to the author because it really was the best book I've read and i'm happy to have the second and the third book here ready to be read or i would go crazy trying to find them in the stores.
It's a juicy story. Of how far love can go, what it will make you do to keep your loved one close to your heart and the im

Updated Sep 17/12 to add: This one was a kindle freebie.

This book deals with pseudo-infidelity and has a heaping serving of angst. I'm okay with both of those, so I like it.

The sexy times were good. The love the couple had for each other was true.

It was good enough that I'm going to look at the next books in the series.

I was really drawn into the couple's story, but the constant slut-shaming comments killed it. Pretty much every other page had some reference to "whores", spoke with a sneer by both the hero AND the heroine, about both society ladies and actual unfortunate prostitutes that the husband was fucking around with.
Loved this book! So sexy, hot, tawdry and just delicious! (As long as you could lay aside the completely ridiculous notion that a man wouldn't recognize his wife's body, smell, voice, taste, etc. if she wore a mask and otherwise minimal disguise)
Michael Dunnaway has some sexual issues but in historical English society, he doesn't know what to do to fix the problem. So of course! He goes to a whore house.
Okay, I'll be the first to admit that a lot has changed in the past two hundred years. Thank goodness! Otherwise there would be a huge problem with STDs, not to mention all the divorces.
Clarissa, Michael Dunnaway's wife, wants to make her marriage work. She always thought that they had a love match, but if he is going to go be with other

Buku ke 250 selama 2011..not bad at all...

I had this on my kindle and started reading it thinking it was simply a historical romance. Well, bring on the erotica! After 18 years of marriage, three children, sometimes the spark diminishes. This book dealt with real issues and real problems concerning trust, infidelity, and lack of communication. The characters sometimes made really stupid decisions (ones in real life I would not be so inclined to forgive), but their actions and reasons for doing things were very well explained (except why ...more

Has a great setting and starting off i really thought i would enjoy the book even though honestly I got this book because it was free for the kindle. ..... I read anywhere from 5 to 7 books a month and alot of them are Historical Romance. The book has a potentially good story line however there is just way to much "book porn" for my liking.
Eliza Lloyd know how to write sex scenes!! wow I had to fan my face (lol) Wicked Desires is a good story about a women trying to keep her husband interested in her and their marital bed. After a yr of no sex she follows her husband to a brothel (no way in hell i would wait that long) and finds out what he has been doing. the madam helps her out and gives her a chance to save her marriage.

the only thing i think i have a problem with is her waiting a yr to follow him to see what he has been up to
The story is a historical about a husband and wife that have been married for a while, but seems to have lost sexual interest in each other. The wife Followed her husband and became his lover in the whorehouse. The sex scenes are steamy, but the whole story didn't quite work for me.

I've read this a while back and forgot to rate it. Oh, the angst in this book. (view spoiler).
Out of the 3 books I received through the Goodreads first-reads program this was my favorite. As someone that has been married for a number of years I could relate to what this husband and wife were experiencing. Steamy story with a great ending.
Wicked Desires tackles an age old issue in a contemporary historical setting. I have to say I really enjoyed Clarissa's character. It was good to see a strong leading woman who wasn't overly cliché, albeit a bit of a wet dream. She certainly showed grit in fighting for her husband in a situation that could have gone so very wrong.

I was more than pleasantly surprised in the last part of the book, as it could've easily ended a lovely HEA, but rather ended deliciously salacious (which made me like
I approached this book thinking I had a grasp of the story, maybe even just a very loose idea of how the story will go. Oh boy. Well, let's just say at the middle of the book, I was ambivalent on who I should feel more sorry for. Note not who's at fault, because I've got my mind made up about that, lol. It really gave me a very poignant view of the hero's struggles and feelings. Having said that, I think the "hero's penance" and how she's turned the tables on him was justly deserved.
One of my first historic erotica that remains on my keeper and reread shelf - surprised me when I had no issue with the 'cheating H' but the motivations leading to it and the ... awakening of the h and an even better love, romance and marriage between the H/h was terrific. Think a tale like this is best enjoyed by people over a certain age and I appreciate artists like Lloyd who don't focus on the traditional landscape.

I downloaded this book for free from amazon a couple months ago and just got around to reading it. It's regency erotica. If erotica isn't your cup of tea, don't even bother... but if it is, well, here ya go.
I love the book...It makes you think about your own feelings toward what you would or wouldn't do in the same situation. I liked tht the author gave a real life situation tht has and could happen between people back then and now. It makes you think, Well at least it made me think...My suggestion is EVERYONE should read this book. obviously not young children or teens.

This book is sick and twisted! Loved it... But it was sick and twisted! This book has A LOT of anal play!!! And a lot of sex! So if you're the kind of person who likes to read about that, this book is definitely for you! (Didn't like the ending! Or Michael! He gave into temptation waaayyy too easily!)
Wonderfully written book set during the Regency period in England. Michael and Clarissa, are married with 3 young sons. Michael is having problems with impotency and thinks he can find help in a bordello. His wife has other plans with the help of Alice, the madam of the bordello.
I loved this book. What someone will do to keep everything from falling apart and try to spice things up at the same time even if they are afraid of how far they should go. This is a book i believe people will enjoy reading

Eliza thinks romance writing is nearly as good as the real thing. Given her choice of professions, she would have preferred to be a 19th century archeologist, but she is perfectly happy living in the 21st century and comfortably writing about such romantic but inconceivably inconvenient times instead.

She enjoys traveling, movies, everyone else’s novels and a good meal out with friends on Saturday

“His congédiement came with the utmost courtesy.

“Wish us well,” she said as she turned her cheek in dutiful acceptance of his kiss. He gripped her elbow to prevent her escape.

As William entered the carriage, he whispered to her, “Tell me Anne VanLandingham put you up to this and I will forgive you.”

She turned, aghast. Incredulous. “You will forgive me?”
