It’s play day for Gyo Fujikawa’s adorable group of toddlers! They’re sliding and hiding, running and splashing, tumbling and wrestling, and having a blast. But as night falls and the moon rises, it’s good to be quiet, too. . . .

It’s an imaginative invitation to fun, games, and friendship that no child can resist!

The words in this story are really simple but my three year old loves this book. She will sit and look at the illustrations for ages and talk about what is happening on every page. That is the sign of a good book!
Wooden Horse
Of the three books by Gyo Fujikawa that I read I liked this one the best. The illustrations are darling and this one has just the right amount of words. My favorite spread was the "follow the leader" followed closely by the last spread with the child sitting in a tree "thinking about tomorrow".
This is a sturdy book that young kids would be able to play around with and read. The words are simple enough that this would be a good book for an early reader. There is repetition of a few words that kids would like to repeat when someone is reading to them.
Bold, bright, colorful illustrations, fun to count children on each page, fun to act out, ethnically diverse, humorous pictures.
