Three decades before a young wizard named Harry Potter exploded onto the fantasy scene, there was Sparrowhawk, a young sorcerer tasked with defending the realm of Earthsea. When you get hooked on this story (and we do mean “when,” not “if”), there are another five books in Le Guin’s award-winning series to keep you entertained.

Beautifully written, reminiscent of Tolkein. Young man becomes a wizard and accidentally looses an evil in the world he must deal with. First of a series I will definitely check out.

It shows that you can truly never outrun your past, and that if you don't deal with it, it will always haunt you
Amy Oudot
A masterclass in story-telling, Le Guin builds a world whole and complete that is utterly engaging.
