First of all, you should know before hunting this down that it doesn't have any new material that wasn't already in previous volumes, notably "A Midwinter Morning's Dream." My version, at least, is slightly larger, however, which allows for a more detailed appreciation of the beautiful artwork.

What I learned from this book is that Hugo Pratt has an almost miraculous brush technique. Corto Maltese is just an adventure serial, but the skill involved is humbling.

Hugo Pratt, was an Italian comic book creator who was known for combining strong storytelling with extensive historical research on works such as Corto Maltese. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2005.
