Awe, shucks Lanier was doing so well with her fractured fairy tales and this one spoils her record.

Not really digging the main characters in this series of short stories, but the dry humor of the narrator is what makes these stories for me... Very imaginative with the side characters though! I was impressed with the villain!
A delightful sequel to The Clever Detective. Just as fun and clever. It had me laughing out loud at some points.
This is a fun series. I love a little sarcastic humor mixed with twisted fairy tales.
Loved the sarcasm. This was a fun, quick read.

This is another cute story in this series. Good for kids.
Great addition to Ms. Lanier's 'clever' series of fantasy detective stories, which incorporate elements of old-time fairy stories in a down-the-rabbit-hole world with a modern female detective who's perfectly capable of saving her fair Prince.

I'd like to say growing up on the tough streets of Chicago inspired my feisty heroines, but actually I was raised in a cozy little suburb, by parents who sheltered me. Guess it was other things along the way that gave me my attitude. You know - relationships, jobs, lack of funds, life in general.
