I read this collection of stories and essays on the subject of the seasons and special days of the Christian year over the course of the past year. The contributors belong a literary society named after the "golden-mouthed" preacher of the early church, John Chrysostom, includes some favourite writers of mine: Eugene Peterson, Madeleine L'Engle, and Walter Wangerin Jr. This book also introduced me to some other writers that I would like to spend some more time getting to know through their books ...more
