I only wish this book could have been longer! Seven tales (each from a different country) felt like a nice introduction to Eastern European fairytales, and it was interesting seeing how they compared to the more popular Germanic fairytales, but I want to read more now. I particularly liked The Twelve Months (Slovakia) and The Shepherd King (Serbia). Oh, and the illustrations by Paul Hess were simply gorgeous!
