Secrets of the Night is a paranormal romance novella, that I found entertaining and fun to read. This is a short story with quite a bit of action, danger and throw in some desire between a vampire and a sorceress that are not suppose to be together makes for one hot book. I liked the story and the characters and can’t wait for the nest book in the series. I would love to tell you more, but the book description says enough, I’m not going to spoil any of the story. I recommend this to paranormal r ...more

This actually wasn't a very long read, but what was there, the story packed quite the punch. I found it very hard to put it down.

The storyline was very fast paced, and you honestly got very connected with all the characters in the story in a very short amount of word count, which isn't easy to do.

I loved how the story weaved in her very own unique paranormal verse world, and she did the world building with such ease that I was impressed.

Kale was a vampire I could get on board with. He was che

“The forbidden tasted so sinfully sweet.”

Wonderful introduction to a new paranormal world where Vampires, Shape-Shifters, and Sorceresses rule the night. They govern over each other with a very involved hierarchy striving for peace and equality among the races. When women among the races are kidnapped, a long held secret by the Sorceresses is uncovered and a race for ultimate power is underway. Kierra and Kale decide to team-up to confirm suspicions of those that may be involved in the disappear

The first book in the new paranormal romance Order of Night series is thrilling and action packed.

Sorceress Senator for the Order of Night, Kierra decides to investigate the reasons for the shattering of the tenuous peace between Sorceresses, Vampires and Shifters. Kale is the Vampire member of the Triad and is investigating the allegations that the shapeshifters have broken the peace treaty, when he runs into Kierra doing recon of her own. As the body count rises and more women disappear, Kale

This novella packed a lot of world building in its few pages. In this alternate world there are three supernatural race: the Sorceresses, the Vampires and the Shape-shifters. They are ruled the Order of Night, and the Triad, which is the highest ranking of each race. The world has been divided into 7 Areas, and each area has its own court, made up of senators from each race. That might sound complicated, but it all makes good sense to the reader.

The three races don't really get along, but they

Vampires and Shifters and Sorceresses, oh my!

Kierra is a sorceress, not a witch, no pentagrams and potions here. She is also a Senator for the Order of the Night, a council created in 1200 AD that now rules and governs the paranormal world. Suddenly thrown into a rescue mission, Kierra finds old feelings re-emerging, forbidden feelings. What will she do, what should she do? Will she let her heart rule her head? And what will happen if she does?

Kale is a vampire, a member of The Triad, the highes

This book was a decent read. I have read a ton of vampire romances and D.B. Reynolds Vampire Lords series and Tina Folsom's Scanguards series, sans Yvette's story, rank pretty high in my estimation.

Although this story was well written, I felt as if it was missing something. Shifters, Sorceresses, and Vampires live in a world with a tenuous peace. Although the concept of shifters and vampires having fragile relations isn't a new one. Ms. Cavanaugh throws in the interesting twist that both races

I really enjoyed this book and the plot of why sorceress, werewolf, and vampires weren't to be together. I can't wait for the next book to come out in this series. there is so much you mind can picture with all the things that could happen. This book was fast paced a page turning didn't put it down from start to finish

It is always exciting I think to be able to read the beginning of a new series especially from a author you have read before. Paranormal being a exciting genre because the intensity is so different than the intensity of contemporary because it reaches into a different world that has limitless possibilities. I like it when several groups are also involved it keeps my interest peaked like this author has done with this novel. Kierra goes searching for fellow abducted females and runs into Kale who ...more

Secrets of Night is a quick and entertaining novella. It is the first book in a planned series and it whets your appetite for more. The characters are well done. They are likeable and interesting. Kierra and Kale have ignored their attraction to each other for years. It gives the characters a history and creditability to the relationship that evolves in this book. The story flows smoothly and comes to a satisfying end. The descriptions are vivid. Even though it’s a novella it manages to convey a ...more
