Firstly, I will try to leave out spoilers in this review as I haven't reviewed the first four but this will probably just be a ran trying to contain my love for the genius that is Mr. Pike. Oh, and I will quite happily read the first four again even if it wasn't for reviewing purposes :)

Ew at the cover model. Worst expression ever.
after Thirst No.3: The Eternal Dawn (2010), where Sita was shot through the heart, she wandered into the body of Teri, her descendant. 2 weeks later, attending her own funeral, she confessed to Seymour that she was still Sita. together with Shanti, and Teri's boyfriend Matt, they set out to confront the powerful IIC and Telar, with the aim of bringing down their technology. IIC put together a group of psychic children who had the ability to overpower a person's will and force them to commit acts...more
I liked the story plot and the idea of reincarnation, coming back from the dead and how everything has a beginning and an end more than learning about the characters themselves. I think that what the character says or does just seems to drag the entire story out longer than it needs to be. Shanti's true identity and form should have been revealed a bit earlier than at the very end. I thought it was explained earlier that John was Lucifer so how is it that Shanti/Tarana turns out to be Lucifer?...more

Anyone else think the chick on the cover is ugly af?
Not trying to be mean here. Really. But if Sita is supposed to be some sexy bad chick, this cover does nothing--and I repeat, nothing--to portray that.
Overall the book was okay, as it always is. The ending was terrible--not the scene at the end but the actual way it was written--and sometimes Pike's writing got tiring. Sita's badassery was at its peak, but this book isn't as enjoyable when it comes to that side of things. Like, for example. I...more

I really have enjoyed reading The Last Vampire Series. Thirst 4: The Shadow of Death left me a little disappointed because there wasn’t as much action as I expected based on the previous books and the battle I was expecting with the Telar and IIC. I still enjoyed reading about Sita’s last journey/adventure and was glad to see some of the story lines closed up.

In 1996, with The Last Vampire: Creatures of Forever, Christopher Pike concluded Sita's story. In 2010, he showed us all that Sita's story was not, in fact, over. As if that wasn't enough, he also promised another book, another extension of the series, a glimpse of something more. In 2011, he delivered on that promise...and Sita's story, it seems, is concluded once again.

Sita, now alive but residing in Teri's body, bands together with her friends to make a last stand against the Telar and the IIC. Both companies are bent on world domination and they will stop at nothing to reach their goals.
Wow. Reading this book affected me pretty profoundly. As with the other books in this series, there are alot of references to Krishna and morals/ethics, which I find refreshing. Christopher Pike does a great job doing this, because it isn't shoved down your throat or make you...more

Loved It!!! When i first started this series I thought it was okay, but this book just made the series one of my favorites. The first two books are normal vampire love story books, bites, love and girlish. the third book was a little better and started to stray away for the norm of vampire book but was not still amazing. This last book was indescribable different from the rest in many ways. The first few book did have a little about how spiritual she was but not a lot, this changed very much in...more
I'm not sure if this book is the last to the Thirst series, but I really liked it. When I first picked up Thirst No. 1, I thought that they way the main character, Sita, speaks makes her sound really mature and old, but as I kept reading, I couldn't stop. The series always have good plots that contain a lot of twist and turns and surprises. Each time, Sita encounters different obstacles that she has to face and she manages to do it, only to have another one come up. Sita is portrayed as a strong...more
I definitely thought this book was better than the last one, but I still found myself not loving it.
This one doesn't drag nearly as bad as book #3 - and I think that's because book 3 is really a lot of set-up for the stuff that goes down in this book.
That said, I found the climax kind of anti-climactic, and I'm not sure how I feel about the ambiguous, open ending. On one hand I thought it was kinda cool, but on the other hand I felt it was sort of a gimmicky way to leave the series open for poss...more

This book... To be honest, I thought it was going to be better /:
Don't get me wrong; it was still a good book, but the ending left me disappointed. How could he end it like that? I wish there was an epilogue or something. Wow, this book was actually really good! I loved the developing of Telar and all of those new things. Plus, there was some good surprises(:
So yeah. You should read this book, even if the ending could have been better.

I would have given this book 4 and 1/2 stars if Goodreads let you do half-stars (I decided to round up), and the only reason I wouldn't give the full 5 stars is purely a personal preference for more romance. I enjoyed this book just as much as the last three in the series, and I love the author's writing style. The main character, Sita, speaks in a manner which makes it believable she's 5000+ years old and has learned to adapt to modern times, yet she also behaves in a way that illustrates her e...more

Loved it!!!
So in this, the fourth book in the Thirst Series, everything changes. There was Sita in Teri's body, Matt's true colors shining through and some extremely interesting information towards the end. Btw I really hope a romantic relationship evolves between Sita and Matt in the fifth book, that would be a match made in epicville.
Plot: The plot of this book was extremely fast-paced and exciting. There was one point where it was a little slow but that was less than a...more

This adition to the thirst books was really good. The Thirst series continues to be one of my favorites. It starts off slowly and there isn't a lot of action like in the first two books but it gets better. Now that I've finished the book I realize how important the beginning of the book is. It gives you important information that you will need for the ending of the book. There is a lot of surprising twists and turns that makes the book interesting and I had to force myself to put it down towards...more
It opens with the Last Vampire Sita dead and buried, except her consciousness has been transferred into the new vampiric body of her descendant, Terry. Sita chooses to confide that fact to the only person she feels she can trust, Seymour as they continue to look for a way to defeat a rival race of immortals called the Telar and an enemy even more dangerous in the psychically empowered cradle.
Being forced to decide which mortal enemy to help to defeat another isn’t an enviable task for Sita, but...more

I can honestly say that this was the best book in the whole Thirst/Last Vampire series! Instead of Sita's repeating first line, "My name is Alisa Perne and I'm a 5,000 year old vampire...," it starts off right where it left off.
This was a very fast-paced book. Once I started it pulled me right in and kept me there. I didn't like how Sita was now in Teri's body. She just wasn't the same strong, almost-invincible-Sita; although I was curious as to how she would defeat the Telar in a newborn vampir...more

Thirst No. 4 the last installment in the Thirst series by Christopher Pike. Sita is trapped in a newborn vampires body with a dreadful thirst, and causing her to loose the strength that she once had. In the time that she most dreads her enemies begin to grow even more stronger. The Telar an immortal race that originated from the dawn of time are supposedly going to release a virus that can threaten the entire human race. Sita realizes that she can't take out the Telar on her own or even with her...more
Oh, Sita. You just need a day off. Take a cruise, bathe in the blood of peasants, get a blow out. You know, just a break from all the stuff and all the people, aliens, immortals and whatnot trying to kill you or every person you love or even that person you smiled at once at the Home Depot while picking up some rope. Rope always comes in handy, but this you know.

Where to start?? Firstly I'm not really sure what to make of this latest Last Vampire novel, I was really looking forward to reading it as it's one of my favourite series of books and the previous one was great. But this book left me feeling a little confused and disappointed about what I had just read.
The book picks up exactly where The Eternal Dawn finished, and since it was quite a few months ago when I read it I couldn't remember what had actually happened and this book didn't do much of a r...more

If you read my review for the first book this is almost the exact same word for word.
I don't know how this whole series ever got published and it was only stubbornness on my part that got me this far. The whole series is beyond ridiculous that I had to see how it ends. Normally I would have been able to read all 4 books in a week. A year later I still can't get myself to finish the last book. I'm so glad I didn't spend any money on these. If I had my $ would have been better spent if I just ate...more

The originial Last Vampire series was one of my favorites from Pike. I loved Sita's attitude and how she was not pure good or pure evil. She had that grey area that, to me, makes a character interesting. When I saw that the series had been re-released and was going to be continued I was unsure of how it would turn out. Was it going to be just as entertaining or would it ruin the original?
I think the answer isn't a simple one. I am a bit disappointed that some elements of the original had to be...more

Just finished and so this review may not be cohesive. Like another reviewer said, this book reminds me most of Creatures of Forever, with a psychic threat being the main adversary. I always enjoy the character of Sita, but this outing was not my favorite. Once a few chapters in the pace is pretty brisk, but it is an intense read. My mind was slightly boggled with some of the concepts. Although not the best Sita novel, I will definitely pick up the next if there is one, which seems possible consi...more
A long time fan of Christopher Pike, and a forever fan of his Last Vampire series, I was first a little disappointed in the publisher re-releasing the entire series in obmnibus form simply because of the "Twilight Craze". It is my opinion that the original six books far surpass, in writing quality and story-line, the Twilight series. However, re-reading them now as an adult, I was reminded just how much I loved them. When talk arose of Pike writing additional installments to this series, I was f...more
The reason why I loved Thirst NO.4 was because you get to see another side of Sita. When Sita got transfered into Teri's body. This showed how vulnerable sita could be if she didn't have control over her vampire insticts. In a way this gave a understanding of how it might have been for her when she turned into a vampire. For the first time you got to see how scared Sita was of dieing. Like how she didn't tell Matt that she wasn't teri for awhile. That was because she was afraid that Matt might k...more
I was so excited when I discovered that this book had been published. I was so certain that number 3 had been he finale of the series! As always, Christopher Pike doesn't disappoint. This book is filled with exquisite detail, and got my mind going. Plot twists and unexpected events keep you on your toes, so to speak. I don't want to give too much away (as I have a habit of!) so I'm just going to keep this short and sweet.

She feels her death, she leaves her body, and then she watches her own funeral. What does it mean to be aware that your own dead body will soon be lowered into the ground? Christopher Pike starts the fourth installment of the young adult THIRST series with this funeral. Readers are probably shocked to see another book in this series because the “oldest vampire” dies at the end of the last book. Pike manages to bring her back and she is better than ever. She is reborn in a new vampire body, but s...more
