Favorite Quote: “…the most compelling memory is the ache sharp pain in his heart. Her hot green eyes dazzle him. Her toothy smile stops his pulse. Her touch befuddles his senses and wobbles his legs weak. The rich purr of her voice makes him crave chocolate cake.”

I was trying to figure out a way to write this review without sounding like a jerk, but I'm just going to write how this made me feel and hope its not to offensive.
So I started this book yesterday and I really thought the description sounded interesting and was looking forward to reading about this fairy world where there are so many different types of creatures.
I couldn't get past the made up gibberish how can you call someone a gangster mob type and then have him speak in isms I swear that was...more

I didn't enjoy the book as much as I originally thought I would. At the start, Ember was a desperate girlfriend clinging to a boyfriend who was an abusive asshole. Diamond, our male lead (made of pink glass no less) had a funny way of speaking that was meant to be endearing but came off as childlike, which sums up the tone of the first half of the story. The trickery, the deal, it all felt like a child's game, one with lots of sex, swearing and backstabbing. But towards the end I found I was act...more

BLOOD CURSED was the fourth (4th) book in The Shadowfae Chronicles. I have not read the previous ones but this was not an issue. Each novel does stand alone and readers will not have a problem following this story. After reading the blurb and being intrigued, it was a little disappointing with some of the language used. It was very distracting and I found myself having to reread parts of it over. Overall, it was a good read.

This is a series and author I can't get enough off! The Shadowfae Chronicles series delivers such a unique experience with the dark underground world consisting of some of the most unique, carefree, dangerous, deadly, lively, and sexy paranormal creatures that walk amongst humans unknowingly thanks to their glamour. Where vampires can be mob bosses and fairies are like nothing from childhood fantastical stories. Author Erica Hayes knows how to create a dark underground world filled with sexy, da...more

I didn't mind Diamond, but Ember was useless. I didn't understand her appeal at all. No real personality and she's hardly bright. You spend most of the book thinking she's an idiot. I don't understand why anyone likes her, but I guess it's just looks. Meh.

This book was a disaster...from the gobbledy-gook made up language to the desperate over-worked sensuality; the author was just trying too hard. I may be channeling Len from DWTS by nit-picking, but there was nothing interesting about the characters, the "world" fell flat, and the sex scenes felt forced and tired while overshadowing the minuscule plot. Overall, can't believe I actually read the whole thing, guess I kept hoping it would get better, but it was just disappointing.

One of the better ones in the series. Diamond's dialect is cute for one chapter and exceedingly annoying for the next 300 pages.
