This is a superb little story that certainly stands out from the usual Zombie fare. It tells of the discovery of a Viking Longboat within a UK coal mine whose passengers are not quite as dead as you’d expect. This short story had everything that I was looking for. It was well paced, the action and blood flowed thick and fast, the setting was sufficiently creepy. The characters were as developed as a story of this length could allow without detracting from the horror. The zombies were something a little different, and some of the descriptions were sufficiently gruesome to have me feeling momentarily repulsed.
