Five Days in Paris by Danielle Steel
Genre: Romance
The course of life can be changed in just a few short days. This is exactly what happens in Five Days in Paris. Peter is a well to do businessman in the pharmaceutical world. While on a trip to Paris for testing of their new drug Peter meets a woman, Olivia, whom he finds very intriguing. Peter is married and has a great family (or so he thinks); his father-in-law owns the company that he works for. Olivia is the wife ...more

I listened to this novel when I was not in the mood for a mystery. I enjoyed the development of the two main characters. It is a good example of how life tries to twist and turn our morals and goals and then we have a wake up call. It's the kind of book that makes you say "there is hope and love in the world." Read it when you need a book to uplift you and you need confirmation that staying true to yourself prevails. . . If you are a Danielle Steel fan, you will want to read this.
I can't believe how unbelievably awful this book was. Having never read a Danielle Steel before thought it would be a quick easy holiday read and would give it a try - the word Paris in the title was the deciding factor. It turned into a speed read just to get to the end. Paris featured briefly as the place that man meets woman.
Will leave Danielle Steel for those who enjoy this kind of thing!

Quick read, Peter meets Olivia by chance in Paris. They spend a day or so bumping into each other and then a bomb threat brings them to talking. They have coffee and realize this other person is the 1 they have been waiting for all their life. they go back to respective spouses, things happen, and wind up together in the long run.
Listening to this one in the car was very amusing. Unfortunately, there were no steamy sex scenes. I think it appeals more to our desire to feel needed and understood. . . . which can actually be very tantalizing and addictive. . . but a little more skin would have been welcome and kept me more wide-eyed on my drive to LA.
Too predictable. I'm a fan of Danielle Steel; however, this book didn't do much for me. It took me a very long time to finish and I was super disappointed in the ending. Honestly, a waste of time. danielle Steel is a brilliant writer, so don't waste your time with this book. Instead, try Lone Eagle or Star by her.
Five Days in Paris.... with as much as you read of Paris in this unremarkable book, you wouldn't know you were there if it weren't for the title.
Twenty years after handsome farm boy Peter Haskell marries beautiful yet cold Kate Donovan, he's on a business trip in Paris when he meets yet another beautiful woman(of course she is beautiful), Olivia.
And you can guess it, they fall MADLY in love and realize they are soul mates, but because they are such noble people they bot...more

This book was fairly short and predictable. I would have liked to see more of the relationship of Peter & Olivia at the end. And more from her point of view. It was a good, very quick read although you knew what was going to happen.
The characters are pretty one-dimensional and the storyline is very predictable. And I don't know where they got the title--The main character goes to Paris, but I don't think he spent five days there. Most of it is set in America.
While the main character stood for what he believed in (like prescription drugs should not be sold too high to consumers and that the testing of drugs on humans if fatal should never take place), even if it meant losing his job or family--the book does impart other lessons as well, I just did not have that drive to finish it and kept setting it aside over other matters until recently.
I want so badly to like a Danielle Steel book. I figure that with the rest of the books I enjoy (chick-lit, romance, etc) this should fit right in. But they just never do.
I keep trying but have yet to find one that isn't painful.

Nice quick read. I found myself rooting for Peter and Olivia, even though I wasn't a fan of them hopping into bed when they did. I think the story could have been just as good/if not better, if they had waited to make love until they were both free. This would probably make a great movie, as is the case with so many of DS novels.
As always, I'm enjoying reading this book of Danielle Steel.
I finished reading it this morning and enjoyed it immencely.

I have always been amazed that Ms. Steele can continue to deliver such an abundance of traumatic fluff. Somehow it drew me in.
started this today while out at lunch...hopefully it continues to keep my interest. If not, it's on to the next book awaiting me in my 'to read' basket!

I wouldn't buy this book, if someone gives it to you and you want a quick read it might be worth reading.
romantic, over-all good...but I really don't do well with affairs which explains the lukewarm score.
I enjoyed reading this book. Lots of it seemed unrealistic, but that's how fiction books often are.
جيدة و لكن ليست ممتازة !

Hadn't read Danielle Steel for a while--this was pretty good for a mush love story...
perfectly stranger suddenly become your very best friend..i believe it can happen :)
typical Daniel Steel book - a nice quick read for the summer
This was my first Danielle Steele book and it will be my last. A magical story with nothing behind it. Pap.
Very disappointed that the entire romance was based on adultery.
This was a fast read. It makes one think of ones own relationships and how to keep them vital.
Typical Danielle Steel story - good entertainment.
OK.. nice story but I'm kinda disappointed:((
it is one of the best story by danielle steel

Since 1981, Ms. Steel has been a permanent fixture on the New York Times hardcover and paperback bestseller lists. In 1989, she was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for having at least one of her books on the Times bestseller list for 381 consecutive weeks. But Guinness was premature. The fact is that one or more of Ms. Steel's novels have been on the New York Times bestseller list for...more
