Intriguing mixture of Philosophy and biography of Descartes.
Garrett Zecker
An extremely engaging and interesting approach to the philosophy of Mr. Descartes. This book reminds me of learning the philosophy though a circular for the familiar northeast store "Building #19" or "Spags." It is fun, informative, to the point, and illustrated with an almost drawn and photocopied obsessive compulsiveness. I really enjoyed my time I spent with this book - and the fact that it sat on my bedside for a few weeks and could be digested in small sections easily. I own a few more of t ...more

First, why are there pi symbols plastered all over the cover when the book talks about pi a grand total of zero times??? This book is solely a graphic introduction to the philosophy of Descartes (yes, it does say it's a philosophy book on the back). It's easily intended for possibly junior high school students. It lacks narrative and any depth. The book quickly tears apart most of Descartes' philosophical ideas while still giving him credit for being developing the Theory of the Mind. They touch ...more

This was a really good introduction. Smart balance between entertaining and educational read. I feel anxious to read further more from some of the recommended books.

Very nice work (as usual) by the "Introducing" series. Great way to be introduced to a complex or heavy topic before going in depth. Highly recommend it.

Good overview book, but 2 stars are going to Descartes. The only thing valid in his philosophy is "Cogito ergo sum". The rest is ridiculous.
