A fascinating snapshot of the state of a variety of emerging Christian communities, some relatively old (mid-C20th) and others much more recent. The collapse of Christendom arguably took place during the reign of Charlemagne but it is only at the turn of the C20th/C21st that the fact is being increasingly recognised. Some interesting examples here of new ways of being church, with a sacramental emphasis. Some appeal to me much more than others, but the book is structured such that you can just move onto the next one, if the current one is not of interest. Examples are mainly Anglican from U.K. and U.S. When do we get an Aussie version?
An interesting exploration of the New Monastic movement as a Fresh Expression of church. Some interesting examples from dispersed intentional communities in the UK, such as Contemplative Fire and The Order of Mission.
A collection of essays describing the new monasticism and examples of communities that are emerging .
