Angels’ Pawn- 5 stars
I’ve read plenty of short stories and now after reading Singh’s novella, Angels’ Pawn has become of my favourites.
This time we get a closer look at Ashwini, Elena’s Guild Hunter colleague. Ash possesses similar characteristics as Elena – She’s smart, tough, and can kick some serious ass. But she also has her own Guild Hunter “talent”, or a curse, in her opinion. She can hear the thoughts and emotions of others through a single touch. A talent that is unique, but debilitat...more

Because this one would entail tons of editing to post it here, I just copied and pasted it exactly from my blog. :)

I don't know if this one will be translated into Indonesian edition, but of course its a waste if the publisher don't do it. Because we will get a glimpse in Guild Hunter world
My first thought is OMG!! The cover is soooo... beautifuuuuuuul!! And so lovely! Tony Mauro can describe Jessamy so well :).And I love the purple vibe for this cover. This will look great at my bookshelves! >_<

Gerçekten çok güzel bir kitaptı. İlk 3 hikaye öyle ya da böyle yayınlanmıştı, bende okumuştum. Yalnız pek bir şey hatırlamadığım için tekrar okudum. Her biride ayrı güzeldi. tekrardan okumaktan zevk aldım.

I will not write down my opinion for Angel's Pawn and Angel's Judgment since I already have written in separate edition. Thus, I will just write down my thoughts on Angel's Wolf and Angel's Dance
Angels's Wolf: 3.5 stars: finished 02/March/2012

I picked this one up from the library to catch up on the two 'Guild Hunter' short stories I had yet to read; but I ended up reading the book cover to cover, including a re-read of the two stories I had already read.
Angel's Pawn - Ashwini and Janvier. Guild Hunter Ashwini, best friend of Elena, has hunted the vampire Javier on several previous occasions for various offenses. This time, however, she has come to him for help on a case. There was delicious banter and sexual byplay between the two as...more

I’m a huge fan of Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series, but I hadn’t read any short stories that went along with the series, so this entire book was a new read for me – and I enjoyed it quite a bit. There was one stand out story, but here’s a small recap on all four:

It was nice getting to see a glimpse of the Guild Hunter world from the sidelines. There were enough details about Raphael and Elena to perk my interest in reading their stories again, but I also got a deeper look at a few characters I have wondered about for a while. Namely, Jessamy/Galen and Ashwini/Janvier. Though I didn't love every story in this collection, I never out and out disliked any of them. And it whet my appetite for more from this series.

This is a cute story about the lively Ashwini and charming Janvier. I wasn't satisfied with the ending, to tell the truth; I wish there was more. I hope there is going to be a full length novel about these two because this novella left more things unanswered. The thing I like about Nalini Singh's characters are their depth; even the secondary and minor characters seems interesting enough for me to want to dig up their past.

Angels’ Dance: One of the best new paranormal novellas I've read in the past year (ranking up there with Silver Shark by Ilona Andrews and A Family Affair by Karen Chance). Although I liked Jessamy in the earlier Guild Hunter books, Galen was my least favorite of Raphael's Seven--so I really wasn't looking forward to this story. But Singh made me a believer--what a great read!!

So I took away a star because it sucks when you've read the three stories in anthologies, but I guess it's good if you don't like the other authors stuff
My reviews of those stories are with their original anthologies but quickly

*Angel's judgement: (From: Must Love Hellhounds) *****
*Angel's pawn: (From: Angels' Pawn) *****

Four Hundred Years Ago
…Unfazed, the little girl threw her arms around Jessamy’s neck with loving exuberance. “You have to come!” Flushed cheeks, sparkling eyes, the scent of sticky sweets and shimmering excitement. “You have to see!”

I loved this book. I've only liked the Archangel series so-so until I read this. It focuses more on individuals rather than a grand epic, and while I like epics, the smaller stories make me connect with this world more. The first story, Angel's Pawn, involves Ash the hunter and Janvier the vampire who is flirting with her by annoying her. I laughed out loud at their one-upsmanship. They have to work with an angel to solve a problem created by two rival vampire families. The second story, Angel's...more

Angels' Pawn
Ashwini and Janvier's story. The plot was fairly enjoyable - Ashwini has to retrieve a vampire that's been kidnapped, she asks for Janvier's help, naturally they banter, flirt and fight bad guys. Ashwini was a decent character but her tragic past kind of annoyed me — it seems like every one of Singh's heroes and heroines have been through some sort of ridiculously traumatic event. It just gives the impression that the only way Singh can add depth to her characters...more

Angel's Pawn 3*
This is a nice, litte story to become acquainted with Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter world.
It is interesting to see the connection between the vamps and the angels and get an insight into the politics. World-building and action is very important to me and this seems very promising for the series. It's a nice change that being a vampire has it's downsides since you are kind of a slave for the angels, at least for the first century of your new life.

I rarely read anthologies as they contain writings from authors I have never warmed to. But a collection of Guild Hunter novellas with an arrestingly beautiful front cover? How can one resist? And I didn't. Nalini Singh's writings please me, the characters delight me and the dialogue enchants me. What a great story teller she is!

We come to the last of the Guild Hunter books until Archangels’ Storm is released later this year, regrettably. In Angels’ Flight, four novellas based in the Guild Hunter world are found in one place. I’m going to take them one at a time, in the order they appear in the book.

(April) This book is a collection of 4 short stories. I get so mad when people rate an anthology or collection low because some of the stories are repackaged. It's just not that hard to find out if some of these stories are reissues! Lori Foster is the queen of short stories/novellas - and pretty much every one that she's written has been republished at least twice! As for this collection:

Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series is often gritty with unique world building, an emotional landscape that pushes the envelope and characters that have an intense allure which demands attention.
In Angels' Flight we get four novellas (three previously published and one new) to hold us over until the next full length book in her Guild Hunter series. I'm not a short story or novella person, so automatically I was like, "OH boo" when this showed up on my kindle. Thankfully these nuggets were yummy enough for me not to regret the purchase, particularly because I love the Guild Hunter series so much (Raphael and Elena forever!)

This review concerns itself with the last short story in this collection - Angels' Dance. You might notice on my profile that I am a fan of Nalini Singh's work in general. However, this book/story is somewhat of a let down. The plot is highly unbelievable and not properly explained. It tells of the time when Raphael was in the process of forming his 'empire' and of the first time that Galen and Jessamy meet and their romance. This romance between Jessamy and Galen is sweet. However, the story la...more
Angel's Flight is an anthology of novellas from Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series. Each story focuses on angels, vampires or mortals that we have been introduced to throughout the series. Both Angel's Wolf and Angels' Judgement were released in previous print anthologies (Angels of Darkness and Must Love Hellhounds, respectively), but Angels' Pawn was strictly available as an e-book until this particular anthology was released. Angel's Dance, however, is completely new and the highlight of this...more

Wow, I hadn't taken much notice of Galen and Jessamy before, but this short story is so incredibly touching and sweet, they are now one of my favorite 'Guild Hunter' couples.

I like Ashwini, mostly because she's supposed to be a little crazy (I like wild, crazy female assassins) and I like Janvier, with all that Cajun charm. I don't however feel any chemistry between them. This story wasn't exactly a romance, more like hinting at a possibility of a romance. A short novella where they turn their relationship from the dangerous flirting of Ash hunting Janvier every time the vampire pissed off an angel, to discussing the possibility of more.
