*Note: Read and reviewed for The Season for Romance.

Josselin was orphaned at a young age when she lost both her parents in two different battles. Her mother’s death was especially tragic when she fought alongside fellow Scottish men at the Battle of Ancrum Moor and was fatally wounded. She beseeched the help of an Englishman, and against his own will, he cut her down with his sword as an act of mercy. From then on, she became known as the Maiden of Ancrum Moor. Josselin herself grew up to be a b...more

The way Ms. Morgan presents this novel, starting with the prologue, set it up as an enticing romance that is full of danger, intrigue, secrecy, and love. I love how Jossy and Drew have an instant chemistry that fairly sparks from the get-go and had me checking for scorch marks on my fingertips. Seduced by Destiny was entertaining with two characters with quick wit, passionate encounters of both the sexual and argumentative kind, and a love that will have them wanting to protect each other no mat...more

3 1/2 stars.
Josselin's mother died on the battlefield, fighting the English, trying to avenge her husband's murder. The three kinsmen who found her body brought her home, only to discover a small child, now orphaned. The brothers raised tiny Josselin as their own, teaching her to read, write, fight, and hate the English.

Drew MacAdam's father was at that same battle, when he came across a Scottish maid so badly injured she implored him to kill her to end her suffering. He did, then felt such rem...more

I thought this was a fun book to read. On one hand, it was a typical Highlander romance with "star-crossed lovers", enemies and duels - but it also had a champion -- golfer. I know, golf is said to have originated in Scotland, but I never thought I would run into it in a historical romance! To me, this gave the book a sense of humor as well.

Jossy and Drew had both been orphaned as children by the same war. Drew's father had killed Jossy's mother out of mercy on the battlefield. But he still f...more

This is a fantastic historical romance. From the very beginning I was enthralled by the story. SEDUCED BY DESTINY is different. The main character, Drew, is an Englishman disguised as a Highlander who plays golf in Scotland. He was totally not what I expected when I started the book - in a good way. I loved him. His attraction to and courting of Josselin was both funny and sweet. I just loved everything about him. Josselin is headstrong and stubborn, but she has a pretty good head on her shoulde...more

Well, it wasn't bad. I mean, I like romances. I even like these (pseudo-)historical romances -- this one is set in 1561, when Mary Queen of Scots returned to Scotland from France. It's more of a farce, and kind of silly. I would say that the main characters' meeting and subsequent courtship was believable, some of the situations weren't (but in a lighthearted non-serious way, so it wasn't annoying or anything), and the conclusions to their "conflicts" were too easy. It was interesting that Mary...more

The heroine in this story is pretty awesome, I felt that she and her leading man (who is not a duke, earl, etc.) were both evenly involved when it came to saving the day & creating their happily ever after, which isn't something I can say about most of the historical romances I've read in the past. It was also pretty entertaining, there were several funny bits and action scenes (assassin oh my!), no worries though there were "those" types of action scenes too ;) and I just simply LOVED the t...more

This story is set in Scotland in August 1561. The heroine is ninteen year old Josselin Ancrum. She has blond hair and green eyes. She was raised by three men after her parents died. She's a tavern wench, a.k.a. waitress. The hero is twenty-two year old Drew MacAdam, real name, Andrew Armstrong. He's got dark hair and blue eyes. When he was only six years old he witnessed something terrible that happened to his father. He was raised by his uncles.

Not a whole lot going on in this story. I didn't...more

This was a Goodreads giveaway win. Unusual - a romance involving golf, in 16th c. Scotland no less, a first for me. Parts made me laugh, although I'm not sure that was the author's intent. Much of the book was pretty far-fetched, but not to the point that it was bothersome - heroine, seemingly low-born or middle class at best, could read and fight with a sword, her uncles let her go to Edinburgh on her own (really? in the 16th c.?), she runs all over Edinburgh by herself, is randomly picked by Q...more

Drew is an Englishman golfing his way around Scotland under the guise of a Highlander. Josselin is one tough cookie who is determined to avenge the brutal slaying of her mother. When Josselin and Drew meet they have no clue how their pasts intertwine.

Josselin and Drew just might be one of my favorite couples. The banter that took place between these two had me grinning even when I shouldn’t have. Saucy characters, undeniable chemistry, a beautiful setting, and a dash of intrigue. Seduced by Dest...more

This book was ok, I wouldn't say I disliked it nor would I say I enjoyed it immensely. There were certain areas in the book - mainly when the main characters Josselin and Drew match wits that extremely well written but all other parts of the book seem to drag and wasn't all that interesting. I wouldn't highly recommend it but if you've got nothing else to read, you might want to take it up.

My first looking into the world of romance novels, which was a first read win.

Taking place in Scotland with the tensions of English vs. Scottish, but more so on the golf course. Josey to avenge the death of her mother, and Drew that of his father, of course meet and love blossoms. The star crossed lovers are doomed...or are they?

This book was an easy and fast read, which is what I expected from a romance novel. With that being said, the story was not very original and the characters w...more

4.5 Major kudos for Kira Morgan's inventive plot- one that had me checking out the history of golf in Scotland online. Great characters bringing out the best in each other wrapped the romance up with a smile.

It took me a long time to get through this book. The story was great. Not sure why it didn't keep me right there and with it.
