Personal Response: I really liked this book because in the first chapter it did not start out like every other football book started. In every other book the offense always wins the big game and the main character is always a quarterback. In this book the main character is a defensive linemen where he gets the winning fumble to end the game which I personally liked better then a hail mary for a win. I also liked how they give us a lot of information about the new coach and how he will transform ...more

I liked this book it was easy to read. I also liked the story because I like to play basketball and I wouldn't like it if someone offered me steroids.

Plot
This book is about a new coach coming into a program with a bunch of new ideas and the team starts to win. The problems start when some players are offered steroids to make them even better players. The players start to get into trouble because of the steroids. Eventually the new coach is arrested and life goes back to normal

When a coach comes to their smaller school to bring the football program up to contender status, Moose and the rest of the players on the team are pumped. Coach Barnes has new ideas and a vision for the future—nothing is too good for his players. With a new training regimen, everything seems to be on a winning track. But when Moose and others are offered steroids, tempers start to fray and the teammates have to decide whose side they are on. Juice is a compelling story about the pressures and t ...more

Moose is the mvp of the first year. The coach for that year announced that he has retired. The new coach comes in and brings so much gear and cool things to the place and one thing that brings things down, steroids.

The novel Juiced by Eric Walters is an incredible story about a young and talented football player, Michael. Michael grew up in a small town, and attends a small division 2 high school. In the previous year, Michael and his team had won the division 2 championships with lots of graduating seniors, and a coach that he would later find out had retired from his position as coach, and teacher. This stung all the players who would be returning the next year, like Caleb “Squirrel” and Michael “Moose. ...more

I like how the book had suspense and it kind of made you think but I don't like how it had like no theme. I think the book was okay, but if you are looking for a good theme in a book I do Not recommend this book. If you are looking for a short book with plot then read this book.

Reading as many Eric Walters books as I can before his author visit. This is an Orca Hi-Lo book. Good for teenage boys with lower reading levels.

The main character is Michael. He had a lot of peer pressure to take steroids so he can be a better football player from his trainer and coach. In the beginning they won the super bowl and was the strongest player on the team so he didn't think about steroids but in the middle the team moved to a division 1 team and the trainer convinced him to take steroids to do good so he ended up taking them. In the end his old coach talked to the team and took over again. In the end I learned that you need ...more

Juice is about a High School football team who wins a division 2 state championship. After winning the Championship they learn that their current coach is retiring and they will be taken over by a new coach who will do anything to win whether it's legal or not. Without bringing this book you will not know some of the history with Athletes and how its gotten so competitive over the years that athletes are willing to take substances that migh

The book I read was Juice by Eric Walters, when you first start reading this book in the first chapter the author did a great job of capturing the readers attention. Which I thought was a very great accommodation while I was reading this book. In summary, in the beginning of the book the football team was in the championship also losing, then on the last play their best defenseman "Moose" called a very gutsy audible which was very risky. The audible was that everyone on the defense was blitzing. ...more

I think this book was great. It's a pretty inspirational book you can feel the mood of the story. If your looking for a football book this would be a great book to choose. It is like a life lesson at the sametime. This book is about a kid named moose who is a high school football star. They have just one the championship but there coach decides to leave and a new coach who apparently is one of the best comes to replace the old coach. The new coach makes the team move to divsion 1 so that makes i ...more

Juice is about a boy in his school football team who was junior and ended up being the MVP of the last game. He was informed that he was going to be captain for next year's football team. In the summer they got a remade locker room for the football team it had weighs, drinks, a lot of stuff. They were fed steroids and they didn't know. The main character knew they were getting fed steroids but they made him think it was right.

I connect this to real football. In football they probably all use ste

I think that this book is a very good sports book. I haven't read a sports book in a very long time and i think that is a book for a any sports player. I think that this book could have been longer because it is a good story line.
This story is about a football star at his high school named Micheal (a.k.a. the Moose), that has won the Division 2 championship for his team last year. This year they have a new coach of the team and not only that but new equipment for weights and diet. Little do th

i really enjoyed reading 'Juice'.It was a little shorter then I thught it would be.The pages were long but the story was short.I wished the story could have been longer because when i got to about the middle of the book, i just couldn't stop wondering what was going to happen next.I new there had to be something strange in their energy drinks, by the way some of the players were becoming stronger so fast.I would recommend this book to people that play sports because in the befor the new coach ca ...more

I really liked this book. The concept of it was great, it talks about a team of football players who get a new coach and a boy found out that in his "protein" shakes there were sterioeds. I had a good time reading this book because of all the things that were happing so fast and it was all a cause from sterioeds. I think that the coach was a bad coach for putting them in there with out the boys knowing that. They had to find out on their own and that's not right of a coach to do that. I believe ...more

I would recommend the book Juice by Eric Walters only to friends that love football. this book is neither exciting nor boring just somewhere in between. It's one of those stories that starts off with an exciting beginning and a somewhat entertaining ending. as the book goes on you see the main character Michael A.K.A Moose go through some things that you could never see yourself doing. He goes through a lot through the course of a month or two in the summer. H

this book was amazing it is a book that teaches you things that you should not do but it also entertains you.

the character that changed the most in this book is moose. because when the book first started out he was fine and fit and in control of himself. but then his coach retired and another came along with a workout coach that was not that good of a person. so this workout coach had moose take steroids they called juice. and when moose took them he went out of control to where he had slapped

I am going to talk to you about my opinion on Eric Walters book "juice".
In the book juice by Eric Walters it says "The dressing room was filled with sounds and smells and emotions Cheering screaming ,swearing, yelping.People chasing each other around the room, spraying soda that they'd shaken up.Lots of laughing. Some were even fighting back fighting back tears.Tears if joy a few guys even striped down to their uniform the party would end,or we'd have to give back the trophy. Juice by Eric Walters is a short book about a new football coach who encourages his players to take steroids.
The topic is relevant and the page count is great for reluctant readers, especially boys. However, the 3rd person narrator keeps the story at arm's length, so it is hard to relate to Moose - the boy faced with the dilemma to take steroids.
The other problem is the narrator tells us a lot of things that happen, but we don't see them happen, so it is hard to forget you are reading a book

When a division one coach comes to a smaller school he wants to change the football team. Moose and the whole team are really excited! Especially Moose because he loves football. When coach Barnes comes to this school he has big plans. He is gonna change the workout schedule and have personal trainers. I just read this book called Juice by Eric Walters. This book was about a football team who used steroids to get stronger. They thought if they were stronger they would win and get scholarships. They learned that cheating to win doesn't make you better. What makes you better is playing your hardest and knowing you gave your best effort. That's what makes you a winner. I liked this book because it tells you that you don't always win and its okay if you loose. I would recommend this book to people ...more

How far would you go to set the example? To make people proud? To attain the things you've only dreamed of?

Moose finds out when the new coach for his football teams makes him captain - and then starts training the living daylights out of him and the rest of the team. Is winning really everything? Or is it simply the means to some goal that the players know nothing about?

I really enjoyed this book. Well written, suspenseful, and full of emotion it kept me captivated all the way until the end. Hig

I think this book what great. It tought me about not to use steriods because it can get you in big trouble. Its about the kid who is a good football player that uses steriods from his coach. Then his coach gets caught. It was interesting about how he was the biggest kid in his grade then, he wanted to get bigger when their is no reason why. His coach wanted to change his divison 2 school into a divison 1 school. Since his coach already coached a divsion 1 school and won alot of chamionships. Jui ...more

This book is good for football players, and it teaches that steroids enhance your muscle but it can be dangerous, some people get roid rage and can start flipping out on anyone or anything for no apparent reason. It also teaches how some people have kept their teams winning for so many years. I reccomend that everyone reads this.
