Miss Karen Jean Martinson
A very good analysis of the role of costuming in theatre and performance. I read it in preparation to writing about the costumes of El Vez, The Mexican Elvis. Her definition of costume is quite useful, as is her analysis of anxieties around costuming in different historical moments. I don't always agree with her conclusions (on nudity, on ghosts), but I appreciate her ideas and her analysis.
