Sex matters to us all. The Osho approach to sex begins with an understanding of how important love is in our lives, while at the same time acknowledges that the journey into love cannot exclude our innate biological energies. With this perspective, it becomes clear that the tendency for religions, and for society in general, to associate sex with sin and morality has been ...more

Love is not a relationship, love is a state of mind. > I found that one of the many inspiring quotations in the book, but the idea that man should have love for everythign and everyone, before he can love one person with all their heart, was quite innovative to me. I tink I agree to an extent with this. You should feel love, affection and positiveness towards many many things. Only after that loving another person, in a relationship with them, would feel like the easiest, most natural thing i ...more

Excellent book on how religion and society has repressed sex, and made sex into a deviant act. It is not a how to book, rather a book on societies hang ups, and sexual deviances due to external influences. He maintains that sex should not be shameful, rather a beautiful act of love and nature in a bonded committed relationship.

Only draw back, he believes that men biologically cannot be expected to sleep with only one woman for their entire life. He proposes that wives should allow their husbands

This should be essential reading for all the parents in this world. So they can educate children on love not the lust that we see everywhere in our society.

I started reading osho because most of my intelligent friends derided him. And when something is a fashion would I not go against it? :)

This book will count as an amalgamation of some of the wisest thoughts on love and sex since the ancient times. Osho delivered a series of talks, this book is the transcript, therewith.

Osho should perhaps not be seen as a philosopher or guru rather he maintains primacy as a narrator and a story teller. The incidents and stories he recounts are beautifully chose

Not extremely concise, but good. Osho's philosophy is simple, and I don't know if he needs to say what he says in so many different ways, but I'm sure different books appeal to different people and therefore get the message to them. He resonates with me very much, and the concepts in this book seemed obvious after reading a couple of his other books. If I'd read it first it probably would've had a bigger impact. I highly recommend reading a couple of Osho books, but I believe more and more that ...more

Ratings are dependent on how much Osho's philosophy convinces you, how much it shakes your faith in religion and up to what extent it transcends your believe of sex into superconsciousness. Osho is a world revered philosopher and has been accused of controversy. No matter how much I describe about this book, nothing is gonna spoil the message inside it. Read it if you have any such thought that religion is binding you for it will unbind you, that religion is sufficient enough for it will tell yo ...more

we live in a very sexual world, yet we tend to know more about its mechanics than about its depth.

living in society means that the society has well defined answers on all hot topics, sex being one of them too.

osho sees sex as the fuel for all living beings but unfortunately most living beings make a theoretical case about sex more than experiencing sex as a way to fully live in accordance with body and spirit.

while sex should be about joyfulness and relaxation and experiment, society now a days

A broader perspective on sexuality

The book is must read for those who wish to expand in their own conscious. While you read the book you recognize certain limitations that act on your behalf, which dwell inside your mind, probably inside the collective unconscious. I believe that finding more truth within oneself is certain to provide more freedom. So if you wish to taste sexuality to a higher level you must read this book.

Osho ... a free thinker and mystic far ahead of his time. In this book he writes about how to transcend the human obsession with sex and attain longer lasting bliss through spiritual awakening. Unfortunately most people got stuck at his prescription to not restrict sex, as that would lead to obsession. And never went beyond to what he actually meant.

First chapters are very catchy and maybe perfect for someone that need to have their minds opened. Apart from that is just repetitive and at the end I had the impression that it was more about Osho answering critics and showing how open mind people should be than really giving you a brighter insight, or maybe even showing a path for superconsciousness.
Only to things that you can try are there: breath slowly and focus on the third eye.
"In the moment of climax the mind becomes empty of thoughts. A

i learned that sex DOES matter!

The goal of the book which is Osho's main goal is this: Don't look at sex as sin because it's not. Try to understand it, since it's the first step towards approaching God.

Some quotes:
- If you want to know the elemental truth about love, the first requisite is to accept the sacredness of sex, to accept the divinity of sex in the same way you accept God's existence - with an open heart.
- Love can only be born out of emptiness. Only a void is capable of merging with another void; only zero can unit

Transcribed from a series of talks, it gets a little repetitive in places. And Osho is just waaaaay far out in his weird mix of super-progressiveness and occasional archaic thinking about ladies. But overall, it's extremely comforting in that any blame for shame is placed squarely on the shoulders of religion and The Man. This is also the first time I've heard the process of moving through to ultimately move beyond sex in a way that makes that sound appealing. I'll be reading some more Osho, for ...more

I've been in a bit of a dry spell, so I needed a refresher course on what sex is, hence why I read this book! Seriously, though, the book covers a lot more than just "sex matters", going into the nature of human relationships and what makes relationships successful and what makes them fall apart. Osho talks about all of this stuff in the same no-nonsense, witty manner that makes all of his books so appealing. I believe there is a lot of truth to his stance that society obsesses over sex way too ...more

There are two problems with this book.

The first is that its not a work by an author. Its just a documentation of a series of discourses (perhaps spontaneous, maybe not) by Mr. Osho/ Rajneesh/ Bhagwan/ Acharya.

As a result, it makes for poor reading.

The second problem is that it is too preachy and confusing, sometimes even dogmatic (if I may).

There are a few gems interspersed through the length of the book (3 gems to be precise).

Eventually, it is a book that dares us to explore and decipher sex

This is the revolutionary book by Osho. One of the novelist from America once had said about OSho that 'most dangerous man since Jesus Christ' & he found to be true once you go through this book. First I would like to tell you that this book has soothing effect on your mind. It clears all the confusions regarding love & Sex. As a human being we grows from our birth we cherish many notions & misconceptions about love & sex in mind. Osho helps us to sort out all those issues we are ...more

not only has Osho once again stunned all by digging deep into a taboo subject but how transformational his inspiring words are regarding sex. just like all other respects life, sex has become one of the least talked about yet trigger the most curiosity of mankind. Osho did at ease to explain what sex really is meant for and how we can find our meaning in simply admitting the existence of the subject. that it's not immoral to talk about it, but rather inhumane to simply avoid or hide it.

His books are not written but are transcribed from recordings of extemporaneous talks given over a period of thirty-five years. Osho has been described by ...more

“We are formed by what we do. It is our actions that ultimately make us. What we do slowly, slowly becomes the creator of our lives and our souls. What we are doing in life decides how we are creating ourselves. What our behavior is in life decides the directions our soul will travel, the paths it will move on, the new worlds it will explore.” 7 likes
