This book is a little gem. It is full of beautiful projects - and I do mean beautiful, there wasn't a single one I didn't love - which, as far as I can tell without having made any of them, are well explained and accessible. Ackerman doesn't treat the reader like an idiot, but nor does she assume you are an expert sewer who knows how to do absolutely everything and she's included lots of useful tips on how to make sure your projects come out the best they can be. liberal sprinkles
I love the burst of colors and the smorgasbord of patterns and prints in this book. On closer look, some of the patterns and prints are actually created by Ackerman's incredible use of fabrics and materials in her projects. This is one of the most impressive sewing books I've come across recently. I love Ackerman's creativity and sheer ingenuity in mixing fabrics to create beautiful things with a vintage look.

Many of the projects are common (bag, apron, belt, pillow) but Ackerman's unique style
