Runaway Lady Conquering LordbyCarol Townendis a historical romance from Harlequin.
I’m quite a fan of historical romances especially those from Georgette Heyer and at one time used to devour historicals from Hqn too by the dozen. However, I moved onto other kind of genres as one does and so have taken up this one after a long time. Having finished writing amedieval Indian historicalmyself, I was in a mood to read a period romance and also to look into how much historical romances have changed ove

Harlequin Historical

Carol Townend captures the fears and dangers her herione, Emma, faces brillantly. An unwed mother has many hurdles to overcome but Carol wasn't satisfied with just that for her character. The father of the child is trying to find Emma. He is abusive and extremely dangerous. So far he doesn't know he has a son and she must keep him safe at all costs. Enter Sir Richard. Emma offers the only thing she has left of value, herself, to Sir Richard in exchange for his protection.

Sir Richard lets

A nice fast read. I had wanted to know Richard and Emma's story for a while now. The plot did seem disjointed at times and the whole situation with Judreal and her father's sword was a bit too convenient but still a nice easy book to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon.
Emma has changed a lot since we first met her as a headstrong and rather heartless young woman at the time of Cecile and Adam's story. Richard on the other hand has matured and grown in kindness.
