Tristan is one of King Arthur’s knights. He has been avoiding the court seducer Belle Coeur for months. She might have the job of making mages but she cannot stop her heart from wanting Tristan. When Tristan comes to tell her she has another mission, Belle is not thrilled to see him. Direkind needs them to investigate a murder; she reluctantly agrees to go. She really likes Tristan’s body but just wishes he had a better personality—one that didn’t detest her.

Werewolves and Magekind battle in this powerful new installment of the Mageverse series. This story was straightforward and can be easily read by itself.

I had so been looking forward to Tristan and Belle's book and it was as good as I could have hoped! I wish Angela was a more prolific writer, I hate only getting 1 or 2 books from her a year as I LOVE them!
1000 years ago Merlin came to earth (yes he was real) He wasn't a sorcerror, he was an alien being from another universe. There really was, and is a King Arthur and the knights of the round table, and they are vampires! They were humans who competed for the right to drink from Merlin's grail a...more

I think this was the best Mageverse book so far. The past couple have been so-so, but this was as good as, if not better than, the first ones. This is Belle and Tristan's story, and deals with his old issues of Isolde. They come together as a believable pair. The story also continues the ongoing issues with the werewolves not believing Warlock is back, and Arthur and the knights trying to stop him. Warlock conjours up a heck of a bad guy as well, out of an old poker playing biker. Of course, War...more
I enjoyed this installment, but I didn't love it. There was a lot of action and it was pretty suspenseful. Knight is a very smooth writer so the words just flow across the pages. I liked Tristan and Belle. However, I didn't get their relationship. It seemed like they knew each other forever since they worked together, but at the same time, I didn't feel like they spent a lot of time really getting to know each other. The steamy scenes were great, romantic and just the right amount although I was...more

In all honesty, I had a hard time working up interest in this book. The biggest reason is, there's an overall story arc and to be honest, I don't care. Maybe if the author interspersed entries that were just... I dunno... romances with no intersection with whatever bad nasty super-psycho that's causing trouble with the mageverse at the time... Kinda like Diana and the fairy king whose name escapes me. At this point, the bad nasty is a psychotic dire wolf whose sole purpose of existence is to tak...more
This was a fast read. The new truebonded couple will be Tristan and Belle. This is not surprising as it is their story. Not surprising is the number of deaths in this book either. Ms. Knight appears to be increasing collateral damage with each book she writes. I'd really like to know if Merlin ever comes back. I think it would be interesting if he comes back and whips Warlock's ass. Merlin's contingency plan just went south really bad. I still like Ms. Knights books but this one was just mediocr...more
This is one of the stories form the Magaverse series I was really looking forward to. Seeing both Belle and Tristan through the books made me curious about their HEA. And I was not disappointed.
Belle and Tristan are both good characters, I rather liked them. Throughout the book, they started to fall for each other, while fighting evil at the same time. The forced proximity of being partners is the reason they became lovers in the first place. Before that they were doing whatever they could to st...more

Really enjoyed this latest addition to the Mageverse series. Belle and Tristan are mature characters who carry a lot of emotional baggage, so their relationship felt very grownup. I like the world building in this series a lot, and there's plenty of that, too. Very action-packed with a big cast of characters. This series has a bit of an epic feel, with a big, over-arching plot line. If you're into that kind of book, the Mageverse series is a good choice for paranormal readers.
3.5 s tars - not much in the way of a review since this is off the dusty part of the TBR pile. As an offhand comment, I've been reading this series since way back when it was on the steamier side of mainstream PNR, now it's pretty much standard fare. I liked Master of Shadows and it was fun to see some past pairs and there was a good amount of action since the series arc is building to the finale but the romance is pretty thin and quick.
I liked this book in the series the best. I think it's because of all of the heroes in Knight's mageverse, Tristan is the most flawed. Knight continues to get better with each book and the series arc is becoming more defined. My only complaint (but clearly not enough to take away a star for it... Yet) is the idea that Majae HAVE to be female and Magi male and therefore only way to truly be in Truebond is to be straight. I'd love to see a bit more creativity to show how same sex couples could be...more
Angela Knight gives the Arthurian legend a contemporary twist in a magical land where knights are vampires and ladies are witches with a duty to protect mankind from itself. Don't miss this one if you like epic battles, evil bastard villains, clever world-building and ironic humour. Especially recommended for fans of Lora Leigh who like their romance with extra spice.

I love the Mageverse books, and this one was really nice, although the sex wasn't as hot as I anticipated...Angela Knight can do LOTS better! The plot was very violent with lots of casualties, that's true. But it was thrilling, and the cliffhanger definitely makes me want to delve into the next book ASAP- that one will be about Miranda and Justice, who have great angry chemistry between them, and who knows: since both are werewolves, maybe those two will BURN THE SHEETS!

This was a great installment in the Mageverse series, especially because my pet peeve of forced Truebonding didn't happen between Tristan and Belle. However, I'm getting kind of sick of Warlock gating away at the last possible second before someone can cut his damn head off. Oh well, at least that means there will be another book to look forward to.
Met the author at a RWA seminar about fight scenes in novels. She knows her craft. While not a huge fan of the fantasy genre, I enjoyed her style of exposition and setting the pace. Coming off her seminar, and as a writer myself, it was a great follow up read. I was able to compare notes and application, as I dissected the book.
So normal I give higher ratings, but I just wasn't in to Belle and Tristan.
I just couldn't get into the book as I usually would. One great thing was to see a lot of the Truebonded back because I love pretty much all of them (aside from Belle and Tristan).
I felt that this book was kinda just thrown in there because Tristan needed someone.
::Spoiler::
I was really upset when Bors died. He seemed so great and now we'll never get to see more of him.
::End Spoiler::
Well, I hope the next one is better....more

A brutal murder of a child brings Belle and Tristan to South Carolina to investigate. The battle between Warlock and Arthur escalates with Warlock framing Magekind (and Arthur specifically) with horrific murders to bring Direkind together to eliminate Magekind forever. I realy like this take and Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table mixed with witches, vampires and werewolves. It's a unique concept that works. I can't wait to read Master of Darkness to see Warlock get his ass kicked once and...more
I so heart this series. I have no idea what took Tristan and Belle so long to get it together but I'm so happy they did. I will admit some of the Warlock stuff bored me but it really came together in the end and I'm excited to see what his next set of evil plans are. I can't wait to see what is going to happen with Randi and Bill.
Oooh a big yummy for Tristan and Belle! I loved this latest in the Knights of the roundtable, Magaverse series. I still feel, hands down, this is a great story line. The knights are Vampires and their ladies are witches. Together they keep humanity safe. Merlin's gift...So neat.
Tristan and Belle are so absolutely perfect for each other. Their banter is extremely amusing. It's their foreplay. AS always Angela packs her stories full of arousing sex scenes. Can't wait for the next!
Well done.

This ranked right up with my other two faves of the series Master of Swords and Master of Dragons...TRis and Belle were a fun couple to follow and I really liked how a bunch of the other couples showed up in this one; hope we get more than that in Miranda and Justice's story...btw really looking forward to that one since Miranda showed up; she's a very compelling character from the beginning

Lots of action in this book. More than the previous stories in this series. The bad guy is starting to be a serious threat to the Magekind.

Her eyes lit up very briefly before she slumped. "No, she's far too paranoid for that."
"I was joking."
"Yes, but you know how kids are about Facebook."
"But she's hiding from an eight-foot-tall sociopathic werewolf wizard who can call down lightning bolts."

Tristan contemplated her. "I think I need to feed you. Your blood sugar must be getting low.”
