The book started off promising with a tornado and then the rescue of a little girl who was about to plummet into a rising creek. After that, the main storyline took over and then the book lost its momentum for me. Mariah and Jake are being hunted down by Victor--former mentor to Mariah turned murderer, who is seeking revenge against Mariah. I didn't care for Mariah or Jake and thought they were an uninteresting pair. They have been married for three years, but their relationship has been based o ...more

Tried out a little Intrigue for a change. This is about a husband and wife who've been skimming the surface for the last three years of their marriage. Mariah has some secrets, so even though she feels her husband Jake is not being completely open to her, she doesn't probe, afraid he will ask questions about her own past. As it is, just about everything she has told him about her childhood, the father of her little boy Micah and even her name, is a lie.

So when Victor, the man who murdered her bo

From the day Jake and Mariah said thier "I do" he suspected there was something she wasn't telling him. Mariah hoped to build a new life with Jake free of the demons in her past. Kidnapped at gunpoint, Mariah realizes its time to come clean regardless of the consequences. In thier desperation to survive, Jake and Mariah must face the lies and secrets together--for better or worse.

Hitched and Hunted was suspenseful from beginning to end. One of my favorite things about Paula Graves writing style is that she keeps the reader in doubt of the main characters ability to reach the genre's expected happily ever after, or even the end of the story. Well written and scary story. Loved it.

As a girl, my favorite books were mysteries and romances. When I realized there were books that featured both romance and mystery, I knew I'd fo
