For the past dozen years, Victor Bayne has solved numerous murders by interrogating witnesses only he can see—dead witnesses. But when his best friend Lisa goes missing from the sunny California campus of PsyTrain, the last thing he wants to find there is her spirit.

Disappearing without a trace in a school full of psychics? That’s some trick. But somehow both Lisa and her...more

I was introduced to the PsyCop series last May. I was enthralled, read books one to five back to back and went on to vehemently pimp the series to anyone who would (or wouldn't) listen. Solid writing, interesting plot and humor. A world filled with ghost and psychics, but still so very real. Witty dialogues, hot sex and scenes so easy to visualize. And of course: Vic. Cynical, self deprecating Vic. What was not to love?

Safe to say I was highly anticipating the release of GhosTV... and I wasn't l...more

What I love about Price is that she never sacrifices the plot/premise for exaggerated melodrama or contrived romance. In fact, most of her books have that perfect balance between the two. GhosTV delivers on both those counts and then some. Hands down, this is the plottiest book in the series, which I can see could be a little off-putting/daunting for some and even I struggled a bit but in the end, it was well worth my patience and time.

Even better, it has Vic and Jacob putting their heads togeth...more

I loved it! I wasn't even able to figure out the bad guy until it was revealed!! Can't wait for #7, already missing Vic and Jacob!!!

Like Vic's level. Two extra points because, after six books, they just keep getting better.

such a wild and twisty plotline. Kept me rivited. Vic and Jacob really seem to be working well together as a team and it's just HOT. Now, WHY OH WHY did you have to end the book with that announcement?!?!??! That's just so not fair!
Chris
Excellent m/m paranormal romantic suspense in which Vic and Jacob head to California to find their friend Lisa, who's vanished without a trace. Definitely looking forward to the next book!

This is book 6 in the PsyCop series and picks up shortly after the other one leaves off. Vic tries to contact Lisa in LA and it seems she's disappeared, along with her roommate. Vic and Jacob head out to help find her and get sucked in by the feds who regulate the psychs, Dreyfuss. Vic doesn't trust him, or like him, but he doesn't have much choice and as a reward gets his own GhosTV to play while trying to use it's tricks to find Lisa. It's suspected a wacky group of religious freaks against ps...more

I absolutely love this series and this latest installment is NO disappointment. It made me hungry for the next book and left me with so many questions. I hate cliffhangers but I can't hate this book because it's THAT good.

So good. If only all the MM Romance books I read were as great as this series.

I loved this book...I will be the first one to admit I'm head over heels for Vic and Jacob and have been waiting for this book desperately.

Vic's friend Lisa is missing and Jacob and him figure they need to make a trip to Psytrain to check things out...they hook up with Con Dreyfuss, Vic's least favorite guy. Once they get to California they find that Lisa and her roommate are missing. Con gets a little help and brings along a Ghostv to help out with the investigation...

Vic's abilities and tricks...more

I really liked this addition to the PsyCop series. It was nice to see Vic and Jacob working side by side again and Con Dreyfuss even warmed up to me with everything we learn about him during the book.

Vic, of course, was his smart-mouth, sarcastic self. I found him hilarious and the constant way he'd be thinking of something totally off topic when he was supposed to be paying attention. We briefly see a new side of Jacob in this one, though. During all the mystery, suspense, astral projection and...more

This is probably one of the most ambitious books in PsyCop series. The narrative is detailed though rather slow in building the case -- there is no feeling of racing against time here, as Vic and Jacob go to PsyTrain to find their missing friend, the si-no Lisa.

I have to admit that I skim most of the story, especially when dealing with the GhosTV and astral body projection. HOWEVER, please note that it is NOT the book's fault. Not at all. I am just not in the state of mind to concentrate on suc...more

02/04/2012: re-read and upped the stars! Hell?? how did I miss the greatness of this book last year? I can't believe it... this is awesome, beyond awesome: f*cking great writing! and Vic? I love every teeny weeny bit of him, especially now that he's getting more secure and mature (uh). You rock my world Jordan C. Price!

The absolute worst part of GhosTV is something that is, unfortunately, a fate even the most gifted and talented of authors can't avoid... It was destined to come to an end, even before it began, and that's a tragedy because this installment in the series was by far the most satisfying for me, in terms of plot and narrative strength, as well as for the development of these magnificent characters and the world they inhabit. Bring on book 7, JCP; Vic and Jacob should not stay away too long.

An ARe Cafe top pick!

GhosTV (PsyCop 6) by Jordan Castillo Price opens in the first-person viewpoint of psychic cop Vic as he spends an afternoon at an amusement park with his lover Jacob, Jacob’s sister, and Jacob’s nephew. This seemingly innocuous outing sets the stage for the internal conflict that drives the book as a supposedly offhand remark by Jacob’s sister sinks deep into Vic’s heart and makes him doubt his worthiness to be with Jacob.

Meanwhile, the external conflict bursts into Vic’s li...more

I will do an overall review of the series here because I snuck and finished it when I was supposed to be doing other things.

These books are addictive and I love Vic. I love his voice and the way he views the world. I love his flaws and his dependency issues (okay, that sounded odd but you get me). I didn't care for the boyfriend at first, but even he slowly grew on me. I had some issues with a couple of the books, but overall, I think this series is fantastic. The characters feel authentic (eve...more

Wonderful writing and great characters…but falls just short of the earlier PsyCop stories

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 8/10

PROS:
- The story is fresh even though Price has already written a number of books with these characters. Victor thinks up new questions, has new concerns, and discovers new talents (and mysteries) that he’s never known before.
- I get a little irritated sometimes at how perfect characters in romances tend to be, but Victor is...more

OK, This is definitely my fav in the PsyCop series. The mystery and the romance are better. Also, I've noticed a slight change in the writing style. Am I the only one? It is more beautiful. Not beautiful "technically right", but beautiful "poetically".

And once again, like in Book 5, I like the fact that there is more balance in the importance of the two heroes. Jacob is not merely there to get Vic laid. He is a major actor in the plot.

Really, the characters are more developed. And I liked that...more

If you have never read Jordan Castillo Price's PsyCop series, you are missing a great ride. GhosTV is the newest, and longest to date, novel in the series, and it is brilliant. Price is a very adept writer, and also an inspired one.

The protagonist of the series, Victor Bayne, is a psychic who works for the police and is also under the eye of a mysterious and ruthless organization which keeps its eye on psychics, sometimes aids and protects them, and sometimes uses them for its own mysterious end...more

By far the BEST storyline in the whole series. This was fascinating, fun, layered, and took the series, especially the psych-portion to an entirely new level. For paranormal fans, book 6 would satisfy.

However, as a follow-up to the delicious smut-fest that was book 5, this was ENTIRELY too TAME! I adored and reveled in the growth and now the security of the Vic/Jacob pairing...but I missed the SEX, oh, that hot hot SEX that was in "Camp Hell" prior.

Still, this book solidified Vic & Jacob as...more

4 stars for the series as a whole. I enjoyed the last couple of books the most, probably because they were a bit longer. I liked the way the supernatural stuff continued to be a little bit different in each 'case' and that Vic continued to learn more about his talent as the series unfolded. The secondary characters (Lisa, Crash) added a nice depth to the storyline, and I liked the way the relationship between Vic and Jake evolved with those normal trust/learning about each other moments that add...more

Jordan Castillo Price once again exceeds all expectations with this new installment in the lives of Vic and Jacob. The main characters remain at the top of my favorites, the relationship continues to evolve and we witness the growth and depth of their feelings for each other. We learn more about the main and secondary characters that appear in this story, until they all become friends that we miss when the last word is read. The story continues to grab a hold of the reader and not let go, imposs...more

I must say I was reading the whole series non-stop for a few days. The ending gives a room for a new book.
It is a good Sci-Fi Mystery. Most of the characters are given a chance to expand, except Vic - he is very stubborn to stay where he is, in a shell. It looks like he is not interested in outside world very much. But maybe next book will give his character some new perspective.
Vic is against all kind of restrictions due to his time in nuthouse and then Capm Hell. But I think there was enough t...more

I think I've said this before in a review for a book in this series, but I love the way Jordan writes. Her similes and metaphors are perfect. They generate the exact image needed to be able to picture what she's saying, and they're clever without being overwrought. Original without invoking the image of a teenager in black lipstick writing poetry. (The book I read before this had horrible metaphors that made me roll my eyes and almost quit reading the book.)
And I love Vic. I love his cynicism, h...more

What's good about this book is very, very good. There were a couple of things that bothered me enough to take away a star, though.

Vic and Jacob discover that their old buddy, Lisa, seems to be missing from her training center in Santa Barbara, California. A couple of trainees have disappeared without a trace. The clock is ticking and they need to find her.

The mystery is pretty great. Vic, once again, discovers new gifts to go along with his other talents and Jacob and he continue to learn about...more

Loved this one, as I did all of the PsyCop books so far! I read them in quick succession, one after another, and the stories flow very well, though they are a bit fast-paced. I think Jordan Castillo Price has a real talent for packing each story full of action, romance/relationship progression, and character development. Based on other posts, I think the series is nearing the end - with only one or two books left. Good for my book budget, bad for me! If you haven't read the rest of the books, I...more

So much awesome!

I've loved these books for years. In each one, the alternate universe becomes more and more fully realized, and Victor's character emerges from the shadows of anti-hero-dom to the thin sunshine of the wistful hero.

In GhosTv, while searching frantically for his friend, Victor also experiences personal insecurity (not difficult, since his lover is a god) and a few empathic epiphanies with his arch-nemesis, the director of all things covert and psychic. He grows as a character, his...more

I was sorely tempted to take away a star from the rating just because of the cliffhanger at the end of the book, but that would be petty. But, I have to ask - WHY, WHY!?

All right, rant over.

Victor Bayne is one of my favorite characters in gay romance. He is so... neurotic, so dysfunctional, so flawed and crazy, and SO fabulous. He's so painfully human that I am tempted to imagine that he's real and give him a 'there, there' hug. Of course, he is much stronger (and not just as psychic) than he t...more

Well, I found this to be a riveting story.

(view spoiler)[The sequence of events and the play of the characters kept me at the edge of my seat and there were moments where I was holding my breath reading through the pages. I loved the way Vic and Jacob showed character development throughout the story and how each scene blended into the next, keeping me hooked.

I was a bit put off by the fact that Vic being a level 7 medium turned out to be a secret everyone knows. But as the events unfolded in th
