Fast forward 10 years, and Ty is now a star quarterback and a Super Bowl champ, with more money, women and fans than he can handle. Ty's been living the high life, partying with friends and assorted hangers-on, and appearing in the gossip pages far too many times. The new owner of his team wants him to settle down and portray a better image, so he hires an image consultant to make-over Ty. The image consultant is none other than his long ago one-night-stand, the woman who all his women are judged against and found lacking--Julie Spencer.

Julie runs her own image consulting business, and is in the process of turning the corner and making it very successful, all done without the help of her family's money. Julie's childhood was not ideal. She has an alcoholic mother and a philandering father. But she's always worked to portray a perfect image of her life, not letting anyone see her hurt or vulnerabilities. When she's offered the job of making over Ty's image, at first she wants to refuse. She's been carrying a grudge against him for 10 long years, and she's not in a forgiving mood. But she can't really afford to turn down such a lucrative offer, and after all, she's a professional. She can certainly face Ty again without being affected, can't she?

Well, apparently not. As soon as Ty and Julie lay eyes on each other again, the attraction is still there, although with lots of resentment on Julie's part. Julie's like a ticking time bomb, waiting to go off in Ty's arms. The attraction is palpable, and they agree to a no strings, hidden affair for two weeks, while Julie works with Ty to repair his public image. But what happens if they lose their hearts to each other in the process? Someone is bound to get hurt...

This was a pretty fast-paced, simple read. Boy from the wrong side of the tracks doesn't feel like he's good enough for the beautiful, successful princess, even though he's become very successful in his own right. And successful princess can't see that the gorgeous athlete didn't have it all so easy, and that they have far more in common besides mutual lust. At first I didn't like Ty too much--he seemed like a cocky, immature party boy, who was reluctant to grow up. But when he got around Julie he started to think about the direction his life was heading, and he began to change. And I warmed up to him once the author showed the vulnerabilities he had, and revealed that he was much more than a good-time-Charlie.

There was something that bugged me about Julie though. She just seemed way too judgmental, and I thought she carried her grudge against Ty, and athletes in general, for way too long. I also thought that Ty's treatment of her wasn't all that bad. She never let him explain, and after all, they were just teenagers, so I thought she could have cut him some slack, and at least let him apologize. And she did it a couple times when she was with Ty later in the story. She was quick to judge without ever hearing his side of the story. I also thought that she didn't really respect him, until late in the story, and was just using him for sex. So I had a little trouble with her, until late in the story when she finally wised up. The love scenes were fairly hot, but not quite in the erotic category, and there was kind of an unexpected twist at the end that I didn't see coming and left me scratching my head. There was also a teammate of Ty's introduced who acted as a sort of confidant to him, and I wouldn't mind reading a story about him in the future. If I had liked the character of Julie better I probably would have given this one a solid 4 stars, but for me it fell just short of that. But I will definitely look forward to reading the next one in this series, called "Game For Seduction".(less)

Bella Andre writes books that are decidedly spicy, but they don’t quite cross over into erotica for me. The fine line that divides mainstream romance and erotica seems to be becoming ever thinner in the past few years. For me to classify a book as erotica, there needs to be something more than just hot sex. Even a lot of hot sex. For me to use the term erotica, the story must have that ‘something’ extra; an unusual sex act, toys, more than two people, etc. So when I say that I don’t think “Game For Anything” crosses the line into erotica, it certainly doesn’t mean there’s not plenty of hot sex…because there is! But the relationship between these two, to me, has more of the elements of a romance than an erotica story. Complaints may be lodged and will be read…but hey, this is MY opinion.

I must confess that I’m not much of a sports fan. I will also confess, however, that football and baseball are fun to watch because it’s always a treat to check out all those buns in tight pants! I know, I know…for real sports fans that’s almost sacrilege, but again, this is MY opinion. The few times I’ve met football stars, I was awed at their sheer size. All I could think was how in the heck did their Mom feed them? A second mortgage? But I could certainly see why these men would be the object of many a fantasy. But with fame comes temptation, and let’s face it, most of these athletes are still kids when they are faced with more money than most of us will ever see in our lifetime and a free ticket for just about anything they want. How ANY of them resist the lure is a mystery. Our hero certainly didn’t tho’, he grabbed on with both hands and is still living it up when we first meet him in the book.

Ty had a crappy childhood, with the exception of football. Football was his ticket out of the trailerpark and into the high life. But always in the back of his mind, he’s measuring himself against others…and coming up short. And nobody can drive that point home quite like the girl he can’t forget. She was smart, rich, and pretty; he took her virginity in a night he can’t forget and she can’t forgive. And now she’s back in his life. She’s a successful image consultant and her job is to clean up his image. He’s fine with that. She can clean up his image while he plots to get her back in his bed.

Julie grew up with the appearance of everything. Her family had money, she was smart, she was pretty…her father was also a womanizing jerk and played around constantly on her alcoholic mother. Julie plowed her energy into her schoolwork and planned for the day she could escape into her own life. But even the ‘brainy’ girls can’t help but notice the school football hero. And for Julie, graduation night was memorable for more than being Valedictorian; it was the night she lost her virginity to the football hero. Only to be dumped the next morning. Now they expect her to polish football’s bad boy’s image?

I enjoyed reading “Game For Anything”. There’s a lot of hot sex, but there’s also a lot of meaningful interaction between Ty and Julie outside of the bedroom (or the lake, or the empty stadium…you get my drift). He has to prove to Julie that he’s more than ‘football’s bad boy’, and Julie has to figure out that appearances aren’t necessarily everything. The author does a good job playing this scenario out. I didn’t feel bogged down anywhere in the book although I would’ve like to have seen a little more fleshing out of the supporting cast. The good news is that you do catch a few glimpses of the hero of her next ‘bad boy’ whose book “Game For Seduction” will release in September 2008. So if you like bad boys, sports heroes, or just some steamy sex, be sure and give Bella Andre’s “Game For Anything” a shot.

While this book was entertaining, I didn't feel that it had much plot or character development. It was very quick and easy to read, but I was left feeling that something was lacking. Julie Spencer, image consultant, has hated Ty Calhoun ever since she spent a passionate night with him ten years ago. When pro quarterback Ty's wild lifestyle causes him to be photographed one too many times with a scantily clad female, the new owner of his team insists that his public image must be improved. Ty is offended until he hears that the team owner wants to hire Julie. Ty has never forgotten that night with Julie that was incredibly special to him. He realizes that he made mistakes with Julie, but he was young and didn't feel that he could ever deserve her. Ty has never found another woman who could measure up to his memories of Julie.

Julie is horrified at the idea of working with Ty, but she needs the money, so she grudgingly agrees. Against her will, Julie is still very attracted to Ty. Before long, they are carried away by passion and involved in a steamy secret relationship that they declare will be temporary. As they spend time together, Julie begins to see things that she admires about Ty, and she realizes she may have misjudged him. Julie and Ty have to come to terms with the feelings that are developing for one another, and Julie must decide if she can ever truly trust Ty while he has to get past his feelings of being undeserving of her.

Overall, this was an enjoyable sports romance, but the storyline was a little bit too simplistic and underdeveloped for me. Both of the characters had issues that kept them from being easily likeable in the beginning, but I was rooting for both of them by the end. I felt more sympathy for the hero than the heroine because even toward the end of the book,she still doesn't really trust him. Even though I didn't find the book exceptionally appealing, it was good enough to make me want to read the next in the series.(less)

The story is about, the Super Bowl winning quarterback Ty Calhoun who is the epitome of bad boys! And every time there is the word “bad” with the word “boy”....something is obviously not okay! LOL ;p Ty needs his image polished and he needs to be seen as a great sports player in the media...and what better way to do that then to hire an image consultant!? In comes Julie Spencer. Julie needs money to repay her debts for her new office building...and The Outlaws are giving her that to work with Ty....the only thing is...Julie knows Ty. They have a not so pleasant history. The one-night stand they had at their high school graduation night has left them both with mixed feelings and confusion and lots of intense emotions. What they won’t admit is that what they feel with each other is beyond anything they have experienced with other relationships and so when they both meet again....the sparks fly...again! However, this time around Julie is more reluctant with her heart and Ty is relentless...to get the woman of his dreams once and for all!

I loved this story....way too much! I love reading about bad boys and good girls and the whole shebang! I just couldn’t put it down. It had me laughing and giggling, it put a smile on my face, it had me swooning and it even had me blushing with all the HOT scenes in it! (The balcony scene...HOLY MOTHER OF ALL GUMDROPS!! I think I drooled...it was that HOT!) This book had it all...and I was completely hooked! It was an engaging book that had my heart racing at all the right moments!! =)

Another perfect thing about the book....the characters! Both Ty and Julie won my heart right from the beginning and I loved both of their personalities! They were so much fun to read about! Julie is determined, strong-minded, witty, funny, sexy, loves a good challenge and she has a wonderful heart! I loved getting to know about her family issues and how she and Ty were truly connected through the same problems. Julie was very insecure about giving her heart away to Ty but it was very refreshing to see her feelings change throughout the course of the story!

Ty on the other hand...*sigh* What can I say...he’s a football player, he’s hot, he’s sexy, he’s irresistible, he’s funny and he just makes you fantasize about lots and lots of YUMMY stuff! *giggling* However, Ty also had a different side to his usually play boy type personality. He was determined, he was sweet, he genuinely loved Julie and he did whatever was necessary to remind Julie that what they had between each other is truly...magical! I loved him...although I would have liked to know more about his past, especially since it was emphasized on many occasions in the book. Julie and Ty made the perfect couple and I was very happy to see that in the end they both realize their deep feelings of love for each other! SIMPLY PERFECT! Although, I didn’t mind until the end for their feelings to be revealed...only cause I got loads of hot steamy sex scenes! The sexual tension between the two is freakin sizzling and if it doesn’t make your toes curl or leave butterflies in your stomach or has your heart racing 100 miles per second...then I really don’t know what will! The chemistry between the two was very alluring and very powerful! A VERY NICE TREAT!

Overall, Game For Anything was a very hot and sexy read...and it just made my day reading it!! I loved everything about it...and of course the hot football player was an added bonus! LOL XD I can’t wait to read Dominic’s book next...I was very intrigued by him so I can’t wait to jump right into, Game For Seduction! I absolutely recommend this book to everyone who has a thing for sexy football players! Ms. Andre...you have definitely won me over as a fan! =)(less)

I know what you're thinking. Another sports book? Really?

Okay, here's what I was thinking: "God, I'm tired. I should start reading Blood Rights because Kristen Painter is going to be at Comic-Con this weekend. But I'm tired. And I don't want to stare at my computer screen while I eat my hot pockets. I don't feel like starting a new author right now. I just wanna read. I downloaded those football books last night. Because I liked the one I won, From This Moment On. I read the last one (Game For L ...more I know what you're thinking. Another sports book? Really?

Okay, here's what I was thinking: "God, I'm tired. I should start reading Blood Rights because Kristen Painter is going to be at Comic-Con this weekend. But I'm tired. And I don't want to stare at my computer screen while I eat my hot pockets. I don't feel like starting a new author right now. I just wanna read. I downloaded those football books last night. Because I liked the one I won, From This Moment On. I read the last one (Game For Love) already. It didn't suck. Andre is a pretty consistent author. I'm just gonna read one of these."

On the brainless read front, it delivered. The plot was fairly simple. Ty and Julie knew each other in high school, she lost her virginity to him, and the morning after was a disaster, fraught with miscommunication. Fast forward ten years, he is a superstar football player with a bad personal reputation and she is the image consultant hired to straighten him out. There's lots of sexual energy and more miscommunication, now sprinkled lightly with personal growth.

Now that I'm emerging from my hot pocket haze and my brain has started to sort through the different aspects of the book, I find a lot of WTF-ery is emerging. Like the ending. I mean, this was a pretty straightforward contemporary. However, the ending was a grand reveal worthy of a Scooby Doo episode. While this is slightly explained by the aforementioned grand reveal, I don't think Ty necessarily needed a image consultant. He didn't have a DWI, get caught doing drugs, nor did he have a revolving door in his bedroom. By today's standards, his perpetual house party is actually pretty tame. It seemed like he was still doing his job, showing up to practice, etc. So one would think Julie, as an experienced image consultant, would have kinda been like 'Huh? Something ain't right here.' A much better take on this concept is Jill Shalvis's Slow Heat.

This was also another book that takes place during its sport's off-season. As a result, there's actually not a lot of football in it, aside from a few scenes in the weight room. I would have liked at least an epilogue with Julie in the stands, watching Ty play. The reader also meets a grand total of ONE of Ty's teammates who, not-so-coincidentally, happens to be the hero of the next book.

I am definitely going to read the next book at some point, but I would recommend this series for those times when you just want to be mildly entertained without taxing your brain. I should really re-read the Susan Elizabeth Phillips football books now. (less)

She couldn't stand to watch him bump and grind with other bimbo, so she walked out the door, when she reached the railing, she heard the door shut behind her. turning around, she found that it was Ty, stalking her.

His kissed her, and she didn't want to stop there. He had the key to the boat behind the house. They went down and spent the night together. A night of sweet passion but neither one of them were prepared for.

And the next morning, he broke her heart, and she shattered his only wish... to be with her again.

10 years later , they were thrown together by fate. And Ty could see it in her eyes that she wanted him just as badly as he wanted her.

Could they forget the past and change his playboy image and have something meaningful? Could Ty ever think he was good enough in Julie's eyes. Sure he had money, fame, and women throwing themselves at him, but could she see past all that stuff, and get to know his real thoughts and feelings? hmmm..haha..

Well, that's a great story. I love it, it's a WOW, oh my! And I think I really need to start watching football! haha.. This novel is definitely amazing.I had no idea what I was getting into when I first picked up this book, but I am so glad I did, I couldn’t put it down and I finished this in one sitting. The story was romantic, laugh-out-loud funny, sexy, hot, sweet and it leaves you breathless. =D

Mixed feelings about this book.

Ty and Julie goes way back when he was just 18, and she gave him herself, her innocence then only to be hurt by him, and some insensitive remarks. I really enjoy the sports-centered books. This one is about Ty, quarterback for the Superbowl-winning Outlaws.

I loved Julie's character. She came from money, but not necessarily a good home life. She has built her career and business entirely on her own. She knows how to handle and work people and is totally confident about herself and her own abilities until she gets around Ty and then she tends to melt into a hormonal puddle.

It is a nice, short story but it had potential to be so much better. The first issue I had with it, is that too many words were spent on sex scenes... I have no problem with sex scenes, far from it, but the book is already short, so I think that space would had been better spent developing the characters and the story. Reading a sports novel is always a risk, so few things can be done to introduce characters. But this was good it's a typical bad boy meets PR agent, OK image consultant but whatever.
This combined that really well with a history and the insecurities that both Ty and Julie have over themselves and the past. There's also the steaming hot attraction between them and the way that Ty matures as a person that makes this stand out amongst so many others.

I just didn't like it. There's only so much of 'i want him but i shouldn't' or 'i want him but can't let him know it' that i can take. Julie has a history with Ty that ended badly. Ten years later, they meet again. He realizes quite quickly that he has always loved her despite not seeing her for 10 years. It clicks in his head that she is his one and only. I believe in love at first sight, but this is just a bit much.
