Excellent primer on American stage actors from the height of the Victorian era through the birth of the Method. The format is large enough to include decent sized smaller photos with the bio and a large portrait on the facing page.

The information is limited but seems accurate and gives you a brief intro to the many legendary stars included, such as Lillian Russell, Sarah Bernhardt, John Drew, Maude Adams, Mrs. Patrick Campbell, Nazimova, The Barrymores, Laurette Taylor, Eva La Gallienne, Tallul...more
