'"To infinity, meaning you'd see something through to the end."
Nick didn't get it. "Infinity is never-ending."
"That's right, which means you keep going and going no matter what happens or what obstacles you meet. Over, under, around, or through. There's always a way. And if you have to chase something to infinity, strap on your big-boy pants, hiking boots, and go."'

This is totally a young adult book. If your looking for something like the dark hunters series, its not here, so you don’t get the romance and hardcore action. I would recommend this book to people who read YA books, but if YA is not your cup of tea like me, well you may want to read more than a couple of reviews before buying. There is action, and humor and teens that turns into zombies, yep, picture it, some of the football team as zombies coming after to kill Nick.

Nick starts out as a loser....more

I didn’t start this with positive thoughts. My reasons were:
• I didn’t depart the Dark Hunter series with the best feelings;
• Never really liked Nick;
• Wasn’t sure of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s ability to write a good YA novel.

Did I make a good choice with Infinity? Will the Chronicles of Nick rock your world? Well no and no. Sorry Nicky boy, you’re just not cool enough. Yet.

The book lacks a proper story. All I got was Nick being bullied, Nick lacking food and Nick being chased by stupid jock zombies (c...more

I skimmed quite a bit through this one...and still feel I wasted a LOT of time. Yes...these are hours of my life I'll never get back.

The book dragged on trying to get started as we went to school with Nick and watched him persecuted more thoroughly than Bilbo at an Orc convention. We suffered through him having to live on powdered eggs...with maybe a little bacon, sometimes not even out of date (Nick's mom is poor but noble....not real understanding at times, but noble. Oh and also very importan...more

I enjoyed this first installment of CON. Sherrilyn Kenyon has convinced me with her talent. She was able to keep me wrapped up in the world she created for Nick. Be it adult romance or young adult fantasy, she's built a solid foundation with intriguing creatures.

Nick is a 14 years old and dirt poor. His Mom is a stripper and they eat substituted food like powdered eggs. I am not sure if Nick feels bad about his home situation because his his attitude is so acidic at times. I'll sting you, befor...more

Sometimes, Nick wishes life was easier. He hates his mother's job that lets them barely survive, and he hates the boys at school for mocking him and his mom. He can't stop himself from fighting. When he's suspended, he's in hot water with his overprotective mother. She makes him promise to go straight home, but he runs into his crowd. They give him an offer to make money that he just can't refuse.

Nick can't go through with the plan and ends up sav...more

This was the first Sherrilyn Kennyon book I read, I actually read this before I read the Dark Hunter series and I loved it. I was in Dymocks one day with my Mum and two little sisters and she said I could pick a book. I contemplated and contemplated it was either this or something else. In the end I decided on Infinity. I am glad I did. I flew through it and despite it’s size I managed to read it in one afternoon and I read it again and again.

This is the first book I've ever decided to stop reading because I disliked it so much. It was taking me forever to get through it, and I just got to a point where I didn't feel like wasting my time with it anymore. There are so many other books I'd rather read than this.

Never read Kenyon before because her books just never sounded interesting to me. For some reason this new journey of hers into the YA fantasy field caught my attention. Should have stuck with my impression of her adult books as this was mostly a waste of time. The best character was Nick's mom, the single mom stripper with a heart of gold. The whole book was full of this type of cliche' and I've discovered that zombies, whether live or dead zombies, bore the shit out of me! Wouldn't recommend th...more

I'm surprised with myself. I didn't expect anything about this book but I like this book. About 70% of this book, I still felt so indifferent to the strange going of the story. However, I'm willing to say that I like the direction of this book a lot.

The story was based on the popular series of 'Dark-Hunter' from Sherrilyn Kenyon. It took back to almost the beginning of 'Dark Hunters' series which Kyrian just hired Nick as a squire. Yes, Nick's story was tempting since I always like Nick althoug...more

There was much to like about this book's premise and some of the characters, but I was left uncomfortable in reading it by the many inconsistencies of both language and characters. For example... The main characters mother is a stripper who dropped out of school to have a baby, yet she always speaks very properly. The main character himself speaks properly (almost adult-like in his syntax in thought and word) for the first 80 pages and then seems to remember he's one step up from a street kid an...more

I'm going to give a brief story of the book, so here it is.

(view spoiler)[It began with Nick getting up from bed, he ate and hurried to the bus, so he wouldn't be late for school. Nick was once sho in the arm, by his former friends. Their names were Mike, Tyree, and Alan. Nick had to battle lots of zombies on the way, of his adventure. Maudaug made this game, called Zombie Hunter, that when someone played it, they got turned into a zombie. Mark gives Nick some rules, of survival. Bubba has...more

Infinity started out just like every other paranormal novel, albeit with a slower pacing than most. Nick Gautier is introduced, his background briefly touched upon, and the paranormal aspect stirred in. I was expecting some sort of yay-let’s-all-go-stake-vampires novel, when WA-BAMMM…

Tuhle sérii jsem měla v hledáčku už hodně dlouho, ale pořád jsem nějak četbu odkládala a říkala si, že bych určitě měla dříve přečíst tu kupu knih, co se mi hromadí doma. Jenže... znáte to. Když člověk dostane chuť, nejde to jinak.

Nicko...more

The author alternated from clunky dialogue and inconsistent characterization to truly funny scenes and interesting ideas. I was past my personal allowable quitting point when I started to get annoyed by the writing, and I was interested in reading more by the time I got to the end. So I guess I'd say it was a decent start and finish, with some problems in between. I'll probably try out another, just to see what happens, but it may be a while.

Ensinir olsuğum karakterse Nick'in annesi. Kadın çocuğu 1 dk rahat bırakmadı yahu :D

If you're expecting much from this book after reading the blurb, then beware! Other than the Zombie Apocalypse part, you won't be finding anything else in the book. The name Dark-Hunters are only mentioned and never explained. It shouldn't be assumed that the reader knows the information because they read a previous series (which I didn't). Nick never has to deal with hiding his chainsaw from his principal because it was only a crazy notion that he had. The whole zombie-hunting ordeal was over v...more

The librarian picked up the book and sighed a little.
"Oh, Nick."
Just like that.
"Oh, Nick."
I suddenly felt very, very curious. You don't just go "Oh, Nick" to any character. And so I began reading and thought...
"ZOMBIES? WHAT THE HECK?"
And then I kept reading.
And I still sort of feel like "ZOMBIES?! WHAT THE HECK?"
But I also feel like
"WHERE THE HECK IS THE SEQUEL? SOMEBODY GET ME THE SEQUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Because, zombies and all, this was an enjoyable read. Sure, I thought his "hormones" wer...more

To be honest I was confused about this novel. There was so many different things going on which I was sort of clueless about since I've never read the Dark - Hunter Series yet. But I definitely know that that series is on my bucket-list.

First of all Nick was a Malachai without him knowing and through the events of the novel he gets exposed to the Dark - Hunter worlds and other fantasy creatures of sorts.

The main problem was a Zombie outbreak cause by a boy, Madguas or something, who somehow mad...more

For the past couple of weeks I have been reading The Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This is her first YA series, and it tells the story Nick Gautier (pronounced GO-shay), of one of the most popular characters from her wildly successful Dark Hunter series. The stories are from Nick's time as a high school student before he is an adult. I have only read one Dark Hunter book, and it was by accident. I have read Acheron because it was on the "recommend" shelf at my local library. I had no i...more

I've had this book on my shelf for a very long time. (There are a lot of books that have been on my shelf for a long time, but that's another story. Sigh.) I have read a few Sherrilyn Kenyon adult books and enjoyed them quite a bit. This was the first one of her YA's that I've read, but I don't think it'll be the last.

After reading this book though, I've realized I'm a really odd YA reader. What I mean by that is I have a tremendous amount of YA books in my TBR pile. I quite enjoy when the lead...more

Infinity was an interesting read. It may be the fact that it has a lot of references to Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series which I haven’t read yet so most of the time I had no idea what as going on.

Nick Gautier was an interesting character. His sarcasm was cool at first but as the book progresses it came to be annoying. I liked it when he’s being sarcastic but not all the time. There’s a limit to when sarcasm became annoying and Nick managed to cross that limit. Nick also has these crazy moo...more

It started off as a relatively inocuous fun YA read. The characters are clever and silly and it was entertaining.. at first.
Then it jumps the shark as the author begins introducing so many different creatures people and empty hinted at story lines that never come to fruitiion. She makes a HUGE mess of it and it goes from a fun read to a convoluted non-sensical almost indeciperapble mess.

Its like the horror section at the video store threw up and the author expects me to clean it up. Zombies- t...more

Nick is a 14 year old boy, living in New Orleans, who goes to an advanced school for rich kids. That is except for him. He is the kid who got into the school on scholarship by perfecting an entrance exam. Nick’s biggest problems are getting good grades and staying out of fight. In Infinity, by Sherrilyn Kenyon, and fiction book, Nick’s is about to be thrown into chaos.

When I first started reading this book my first thought was, why hadn’t I read this sooner? This story had me in its grasp from the minute I picked it up. I found the prologue to be perfect. Now usually I am not a fan of prologues, but this one did exactly what it was supposed to do, make me want to keep reading.

And I did. I found this book to be absolutely refreshing. I found that the story developed perfectly as it allowed me to get to know the characters and the entire story. I really love it...more

The book started out with an interesting premise and great characters. The relationships and character dynamics were wonderful and had me hooked. I even loved the early hints of supernatural goings-on. But as the book progressed, more and more characters were thrown at me without really any explanation or time for development. Things were accepted far too swiftly by the main character, and there wasn't enough time to really understand how some characters fit into the storyline before even more c...more
