What do you get when you mix an Etruscan Goddess and a Cimmerian warrior together? You get loads of trouble and lots of hot sexy fun. What a Goddess Wants is a fascinating hot book and one no erotic paranormal romance reader should miss. I couldn’t put it down. I loved all the mythology and fun Stephanie added to this book. The storyline has adventure, danger, suspense and lots of animalistic sex *still fanning self* (there’s one scene has anal intercourse.) This book has some fantastic mytholog ...more

The first time I saw this book I knew that I had to read this one. Not only is the cover fabulous but I also adore the writer. Julian writes sexy stories with engaging plots and witty conversations thrown into the mix. Her new series focusses on the Etruscan Goddesses who are in our modern times almost completely forgotten. I never really heard of them before reading one of Julian's books and it seems the rest of the world is the same.

What a Goddess Wan

What a Goddess Wants is the beginning of a new series by Stephanie Julian and it just blew me away. I loved it to pieces. The pages just flew by!

I felt so sorry for Tessa-she used to be the Goddess of Dawn until those evil Roman Gods came and her job was usurped by the Goddess Aurora. Tessa doesn't have a whole lot of powers any more or a lot to do. One of the few jobs she has left is being a mid wife for those who remember her and call on her for help. When she starts being visited by the God o
This is a book i didn't even know existed and probably wouldn't have ever read if it hadn't been chosen for me book reading challenge. I have to say though, that i did really enjoy it. I liked Cal and Tessa a lot, along with all the other main characters..specifically Sal and X, Cal's brother.

The storyline of the Goddesses and the Cimmerian warriors was very cool and different..the author did a good job of keeping things fast paced and didn't feel bogged down with an over abunda
Sexy as Hell…WHAT A GODDESS WANTS starts out with a bang and titillates the senses from the onslaught of hotness and action. Julian has a fabulous gift with crafting a sexy romance and I’m never disappointed with her writing. If you want a Hot Little Number with just as much plot as sexiness then this is the one you want to grab.

Tessa, a forgotten Etruscan Sun goddess is not that content in her life. She’s lost her powers almost a millennia ago and her only comfort left is her job as a midwife f

This light paranormal sparkles with humor and extra sassiness. Plus, the likeable heroine makes you zip through this book in no time!

Tessa is the Ertuscan Goddess of Dawn, but she is a Goddess with a problem: the Underworld God, Charun wants her powers and her death. She has been on the run from his minions and forces herself not to sleep in fear he will trap her in her dreams. Exhausted she goes to a paranormal ‘s

This is the first book in the Forgotten Goddesses Series and I have to say really I liked this twist on mythology. It was a fast read which was smokin and not just because of the sex scenes. It had humor to it even though I did have some issues with how fast they got together after at the start of the book. (I don't post spoilers so if you read this book you will know what I mean).

As the book progresses though Tessa and Caligo (Cal) have a great chemistry and grow to care for each other. Even th
Tessa is the goddess of the dawn but her powers are not as strong as they used to be because she and a few other gods were forgotten. But Charun the god of the underworld was hunting her in her dreams because he wanted her powers and in order to get them he would have to kill her. Tessa didn't want to die so she went to find a rotector. Caligo a Cimmerian warrior. When she went to find him he was UN-trusting of her because, gods always got him in trouble and always double crossed him. But Cal ha ...more
If I was to pick one word for this story it would be, Hot! Hot! Hot! A tale that is steeped in magic and mythology, I loved it. Tessa and Caligo are excellent characters. Although as much as I love the cover it doesn't do them justice. Stephanie Julian never fails to wow me. The suspense and passion are a driving force. I know I have said this before and it's still true, Stephanie's world building is amazing.

What A Goddess Wants is fast, exciting and sizzling hot. Looking to crank up the heat th
A lot of fun, not sure what drew me to this book as I had never heard of this author before, but I needed a book about immortals for a challenge and someone else had read this one and I thought it sounded good. Thanks, someone in "Gotta Have Paranormal Romance with a Kick"! Loved the mythology aspect, got me interested in the "other" gods and goddesses from the past. Will be reading more.
wow! this book was great! Tessa and Caligo...Cal...are a match made in heaven. sort of speak. Tessa is a diety who lives for the sun whereas Cal is a Cimmerian warrior who is burned by it. Sal and Extasis...X...are great additions too. Fun story about Greek and Roman mythology joined by the hot and steamy story of Tessa and Cal. Anyone who enjoys erotic romance/fantasy will enjoy this book.

I’ve enjoyed Stephanie Julian’s Lucani Lovers series in the past and I was pleased when I realized that What a Goddess Wants is set in the same unique world of Etruscan gods, shifters and magic.

Tessa, the Etruscan goddess of Dawn, has pretty much exceeded her shelf life. Most of her powers became dormant after the Roman gods horned in and ousted the Etruscans. Bored and wrestless after a lifetime of excess, she now spends her time using her remaining p
What a Goddess Wants is the first book in Stephanie Julian's new Forgotten Goddesses series. When I read the summary of this book I got extreamly excited. I just couldnt believe that an author had wrote a book about the Etruscan Goddesses.

This book is about Tessa, a forgotten Etruscan Goddess of the dawn. She is strong willed but also kind hearted. She is being chased in her dreams by the God of the underworld. She seeks the help of Caligo who is a Cimmerian warrior with a soft spot for damsels

Tessa is the Estruscan Goddess of the Dawn, once highly worshipped, but in present day pretty much forgotten about. She may not help the sun rise everyday anymore, but she still performs her duty as midwife, when someone calls her name. But she has bigger problems than being worshipped. Charun, the Lord of the Underworld (called Aitas in this book) is after her. He is tied to Aitas and can’t come after her physically, but he can haunt her in her dreams and send out demons to try to grab her. He ...more
What a Goddess Wants is the first book in Stephanie Julian’s newest steamy series, Forgotten Goddesses. When I read what this book was about, I have to admit that I thought that Stephanie, the creative and imaginative author that she is, created brand new goddesses in her head and wrote a series about these made up characters. Little did I know that the Etruscan’s existed for real! Well, as real as any other god or goddess was back in the day.

I found the idea for this book and the choice of char

It's OK no one remembers Etruscan Sun goddess Tessa. But when a demon threatens her life, she must turn to mythology's darkest warrior for protection. Caligo of the Cimmerians has never met a woman as warm, sunny and inviting as Tessa. Their sizzling mutual attraction quickly sweeps the two of them into a love story that's worthy of the gods.

I decided to read What a Goddess Wants because of all the fabulous reviews it had been getting and What a Goddess Wants is only the second book I’v

Awesome start to a brand new series! Some of the Etruscan Goddesses are in trouble. They are being pursued by Charun, who has been forced to guard the Underworld and never leave his post. After a couple millennia he has decided he wants out. He’s willing to harm others to see that he gets his way. Charun is sending his demons after Thesan the Etruscan Goddess of the Dawn. If he absorbs enough powers from these forgotten Goddesses he can make his escape.

A magical tale of danger, suspense, and the healing power of love.

This was really a fun story and I enjoyed it immensely. I love the sense of humor sprinkled through out the story. Ms Julian creates two wonderful main characters; they’re strong, vibrant, and flawed. Caligo is a dark and dangerous Cimmerian warrior, who has sworn never again to get involved with goddesses—they’re beautiful, spoiled and treacherous. Tessa is a beautiful sun goddess who is need (in more ways than one) of a warri

A book about an Etruscan sun goddess battling darkness? Count me in. The title "What a Goddess Wants" drew me in as I assumed I'd find strong ladies, magic, and sexy scenes.

Overall I would say I'm pleased but by the end I found it didn't quite jump out of my seat.

1. Tessa has a fresh fun attitude.

Tessa is more optomistic than Sookie Stackhouse but just as blond. She has a fierce side but as a goddess she is mostly powerless. She was called Thesan in the old days, with powers connected to sun, bi

My Review:
This was one of those books that I just wasn't sure I was going to like...the story line seemed a bit complicated (I get lost in all the gods/goddesses of the different pantheons,) the reviews that I had seen about it were up and down, but I fell in love with the cover (yes, I know, I am a cover whore,) and I REALLY like the description of the story for book #2 in this series, so I broke down and decided to read it. OMG, why did I ever second-guess this book?!? This book was FABULOUS!!

This story about Caligo and Tessa takes readers on a hot and furious ride as the hero and heroine try to outwit a powerful foe while trying to resist the passion brewing between them at the same time. Something has to give and finding out who or what has to be sacrificed kept me riveted.

What a change from most of the books I've been reading! This is totally not for my children to read until they are much older...and even then, I am not sure if this is a book that I would feel comfortable sharing with my child. I randomly picked this book because it was available for download from the library and I was intrigued with the title. So, after the shock of the curse words and sexual situations (granted I was expecting a different book, more in line with the young adult genre), I got c ...more
Okay this book gets 4 stars for the pure yumminess sexual heat. Wowza. Plus the fact that the H/H actually love each other. there's a rich plot, unique story line but there's one thing I can't really wrap my mind around and it wasn't fully explained...the sexual telephone calls...or whatever they were. Ok so sex recharges the goddesses batteries, that's fine but...what does it how does the sex tie in with calling the gods on another plane of existence? Did it work? I never fully got id it did or ...more

If you want the paranormal...and the romance...and a whole lot of steamy sex...this one's for you. What A Goddess Wants is sensual, erotic and packs quite a wallop in the paranormal storyline. It will more than likely give you plenty of that hot-and-bothered feeling every good erotic romance seems to supply. Ms. Julian shows us her creativity in this storyline and not only gives us an erotic love story, but a lot of adventure and a great host of characters along the way. What a pleasure to read ...more
I truly loved every part of the book that handled mythology, from the way the personalities of the gods were written (though admittedly I know the Roman ones better than the Etruscan ones) to the way Tessa had to remake her whole identity. Even though the mythology parts were great, I thought the story itself hinged a lot on things that weren’t explained. Caligo can feel her warmth – well, good for him, but why is that and what does it mean? Tessa’s powers are awakened by their lovemaking – yay ...more

While this book wasnt exactly bad...every part of it was well...utterly boring. The goddess wasnt really powerful enough to be interesting she was pretty meek and bland and to me just faded into the background. Same thing with the hero (though he wasnt meek) he wasnt especially alpha or especially sensitive or anything that would make him stand out as an interesting character. The romance may have been well developed i didnt notice it though because i really wasnt invested in the couple. The sex ...more
This was a quick read and overall I liked it. The love scenes were just the right amount of spice and Cal is drop dead gorgeous hero. The world building was great, and I'm very interested in reading the next book in the series. What I was bothered by is the way the story ended...almost too quickly. The book built up a lot of momentum throughout the novel, and then it felt like the ending was rushed or there should have been something more drawn out. Will definately read the next one.

I liked What a Goddess Wants for the most part, right until the near end. I think I was expecting so much more, because I felt like it wasn't wrapped up tight enough.

It had its moments, but overall it left a lot to be desired. I like a good HEA, but some of my questions weren't answered:
