Didn't much care for the setting, which was Egypt nor was I able to keep up with who the bad guys were and why OMEGA was after them in the first place.

However, I did enjoy the romance between Deke Griffin and Jaci Thornton. Deke must find out if Jaci is aware of the political crash she caused when she finds a scarab on the ground while on vacation with a local tour group.

What he doesn't expect to find his his growing attraction for her. It doesn't take him long to figure out she has no part in

I enjoyed this, Deke and Jaci were strong characters and the romance and suspense was great. My "complaint" is that Jaci went from being angry and suspicious of Deke to welcoming him into her bed and home. It kind of felt like the author suddenly realized she was out of words and just ended it.

DANGER IN THE DESERT lives up to the Code Name: Danger series. I'm not fond of books with an Egyptian backdrop but the comedic like mystery help me adjust to the storyline with no problem. Jaci and Deke were not the most intense couple in this series, but the romance worked as well.

NOTE: I only wish that the University of Florida had a Library Science program, then I would not have gone out of state for graduate school.

Book was okay. It was not one of Merline's better books but it was a fun read. Since it was just okay I will probably put this in the box going to the used bookstore.
