Sharks as a main character are almost assuredly a hit in our house (that would explain why my 5-year old would've rated this title higher just on shark content alone). Sammy and Sophie Shark are left with their favorite babysitter (ironically a very small fish?) and Sammy just can't stop crunching everything in sight. This book is based upon the "crunch factor" more than a strongly plotted story. Kids who enjoy sharks will like it but I couldn't carry it in a storytime for a broader More...

Sammy the shark has a bad habit of eating things when he gets excited. Good story to read about babysitters or inappropriate things we do when we get excited or nervous.

Good to read at beginning of school year. PreK-2

This was an end of the year gift from the preschool teachers. It was perfectly delightful and made the boys giggle. Very cute.
