I’m a serious fangirl of this series. I went into this book expecting it to rock my world so it started with 5 stars before I even read one word on the first page. Now, I bring you my biased review…
Before this series, this is the way I imagined dragons:

It’s hard to think of a hot alpha hero shape shifting dragon when you think of a cute loveable huggable dragon that you want to hug in the form of a stuffed animal.
After this series, this is how I imagine dragons:

Wow. I didn't realize how much I missed Mick and Janet until I jumped back into their world.
In this latest Stormwalker installment, the book opens with Janet and Sheriff Nash Jones falling into a random sink hole out in the middle of the Arizona desert. Except nothing with Janet is ever random.
In that sinkhole (about 200ft down!!!) Janet sees these awful freaky skeletal hands coming her way. Nothing she does can get them to leave her alone, and there are hundreds of them crawling towards her. Mi...more

While speeding down the road Janet and Nash drive into a sinkhole. When down there, shockingly (to herself included) she is uninjured, she is greeted by some eerie cave drawings that begin to glow and grab towards her in a menacing way. After telling Mick he goes to investigate and when he gets back he is changed, and not for the better. The magic mirror doesnt want him around and tell Janet to get away from him as well. While Mick seems to be changing, so is the hotel. Right on the heels of a s...more
Third in the Stormwalker urban fantasy series revolving around Janet Begay, a unique magic user and hotel owner who likes to hop on her Harley and ride.
My Take
It certainly makes life easier for Janet now that Nash and most of his men, Maya, and Fremont accept the weird stuff that happens around Janet. Now, if only their alpha personalities could be toned down to make Janet's life easier...snicker… Seriously, James does a nice job of balancing their acceptance while still keeping life a bit of...more

Wow, when I started this series, I assumed it was going to be just like all the other PN books I've read over the last 5 years - you know: Damsel, hot damsel who doesn't realize it, then Damsel's in distress - enter hero, really hot hero, then hero saves damsel from herself/enemies/him ...... etc, etc, etc
The kind of book that's sort of interesting, but not so much that you can't come up with your shopping list at the same time. This seems to be the kinds of PN that I've had to read over and ove...more

This is the third book in the Stormwalker series and it was an excellent third installment to the series. As per usual I hopped into this series in the exact middle with the second book and will remedy that by reading the first book...eventually. Aside from that small matter, I continue to marvel at the beautiful descriptions of the Southwest and the all too brief explanations of Native American culture within these books. I enjoy how Native American myth and stories are mixed in with the Beneat...more
A Stormwalker, a hot, biker dragon, a buttoned up witch, a smart assed female electrician who is in love with the hard assed military man sheriff in which magic can't effect, a Native American Coyote God, a tiny mean Grandmother that turns into a crow AND last but not least a magic mirror that is an equal opportunity voyeur. Seriously, what more could you possibly want in a PNR? This series gets better with every book.

Paranormal Romance- June 7th, 2011
4 ½ stars
Janet Begay is a powerful Storm Walker. She can control the earth and the air, but none of these powers can help her when she is followed by the local police officer and they are both swallowed by the sudden appearance of a magical cavern. It is up to her boyfriend, Mick, a dragon shifter to come to their rescue. But after saving her, she notices that his personality has changed. Mick runs hot then cold and he forgets thing...more

1.) Nash is becoming less annoying and more ... Tolerable. 2.) Maya is good for girltime, that is all. 3.) The 4th book will be called Night Walker so I'm hoping we get to meet the nightwalker (vampire) that's been staying in Janet's hotel. 3.) Mick has begun to get mushy and it's bothering me. 4.) Janet is getting to be badass but she's suppressing it too much for me. She took a step forward and then a step back. 5.) Coyote is useles ... Kill hi...more

4 stars. Another great story with new and old characters alike. Janet runs around like a chicken with her head cut off for most of the story trying to figure out what the hell is going on while her "friends" refuse to help. Then a ton of information blindsides her and then things begin to fall into place. Her friends jump in at the last minute and help to save the say. In this aspect the book follows the same theme of the others. I liked the book and it was just as good if not better then the ot...more
Really?? I have to write a review for this book?? I think that this is enough for a review: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love this series!!!! “Shadow Walker” by Allyson James is AWESOME!!!!! I love the first two and this is not an exception! For God’s sake, with this book I fell in love with a dragon! I have to say that “Shadow Walker” has more adventure and OMG moments than the first two. The plot is very good and the writing style is great.

It seems as if it is not often enough i discover a new book/ series that i not only love but is refreshingly different. i am thrilled i found this one. i read through the three books currently out in this series in less than a week and i am already looking for release dates of the next one.
i saw shifters and witches and assumed this would be a good book, but more of the same. i was pleasantly surprised to see that i was dead wrong. there was a lot of Navajo influence in the characters and "mons...more

These books just get better as the series continues. This one did more than make me cry, it made my heart hurt. What a powerful story and gut wrenching read. I've really grown to like Janet and Mick. This story really revealed the powerful love they have between them. Nothing can tear them apart. For people who think this series is more Urban Fantasy than Paranormal Romance, they are dead wrong. Read this book and know why!

I am glad that I finally got around to reading Shadow Walker, which was the best of the series so far. There is a lot going on, and some upsetting things for Jane as it looks like she may lose the things that are most important to her - her hotel and her lover Mick. Part of what made this good is that the cast has really gelled and it's fun to see even some of the fringe ones (Jamieson and his family) get a little bit of screen time. So glad I rescued this off the TBR pile and even gladder that...more
Another terrific book. James is a terrific storyteller and has a gift for writing great characters. Not only are the main characters very likable, but she manages to make the secondary and supporting characters very vivid and clear as well. I loved Janet's Grandmother and her friend and Janet's chef, Elana, Drake and Colby the dragons, and continued to adore Maya, Nash and Fremont, and of course the magic mirror. If you like urban fantasy and you haven't read this series, you really should, ther...more
4.5 *s This was my favorite of the series yet. It's certainly the most emotional. And I stayed up well past my bedtime to finish it. Janet is battling to save her own life, Mick's life and their relationship. She's running against a deadline and to top it all off, she's often fighting against the man she loves. I don't want to give too much away but it becomes clear pretty early on that Mick is not himself. And the only thing scarier than Mick not being himself is the being powerful enough to ma...more
The third book in Allyson James' Stormwalker series opened with a bang. Janet and Nash end up in a sinkhole with no way to get out, but it's Mick to the rescue. The plot was a little slow after this first incident, but really picked up when the Mick storyline began.
This book focuses heavily on Mick and Janet's feelings for one another. I like that Janet realized the true depth of her love and that Mick finally opened himself up fully to her. It was good to see their relationship progress.

Shadow Walker is the third installment in the Stormwalker series by Allyson James.
Sheriff Nash Jones is on Janet Begay’s tail for speeding at an interstate road when suddenly a sinkhole opens in the middle of the road and both motorcycle (Janet’s) and police car nosedive through the sinkhole 200ft deep. What I like about this book is that there isn't a love triangle for me to have worry about. I like that Janet and Mick are a firmly established couple and they have each others backs. However, I would still like a little more of a relationship aspect of them without the constant shagging. This book provided me with a bit more of that, so I'm happy about that.
What I'm not so happy about it is the large rambling plot threads that didn't really make much sense until the final part...more

One night Janet is out speeding down the highway with Sheriff Nash on her tail when they come upon a sinkhole which threatens to kill them both. There is something in the sinkhole that likes to kill all things evil which includes Janet. Meanwhile a new safety inspector has come to town and threatening to close down Janet’s hotel. As Janet tries to figure out if this is a plot against her and what her half sister Gabrielle has to do with it all, she also has to come up against Mick face to face.

I would never have thought dragons and Coyote of Native American lore would mix as well as they have in Allyson James’s Stormwalker series, but after three books, the mythologies blend better than ever. In SHADOW WALKER, Janet has her hands full with both practical and romantic problems, but with her Stormwalker and Beneath powers still refusing to work together there’s no such thing as an easy fix.

This is one of those books that's a solid 4 stars for me. Good story. Fast easy read. No real complaints. Sometimes books like that are the hardest to review.
Three books in, the series isn't "new" enough that I need to reiterate the premise of the series and the rules of the universe. On the other hand, the series hasn't gone on long enough that personal character advancements seem to take precedence. (I do this with J.D. Robb, Laurell K. Hamilton, and Janet Evanovich -- all who have 15+ books i...more

Shadow Walker is the third novel in the Stormwalker series by Allyson James, which IMO just continues to get better with every release.
Janet and Mick are back, along with the rest of the gang, and I am so glad that I picked this book to read, because it absolutely blew me away. There is so much going on in this book, at least four unique storylines, and each is so effortless woven together, it’s difficult to untangle them.

Books like this one remind me so much why I love to read. I stayed up waaaay too late reading this fantastically, awesomely, wonderful book.
My biggest complaint from Firewalker was that it didn't have enough Mick in it. Let's face it, Mick is one of the main reasons I love this series. So imagine my surprise that Shadow Walker started a little slow but then picked up when Mick left the scene! I think the difference is while Mick is not there for me to read; the storyline is still focused on him....more

I love this series and it just gets better-and-better. Allyson James has one hell of an imagination. I'd love to take a little vacation in her mind and spend some quality time with Colby, the seriously hot, heavily tattooed, bad boy dragon with an attitude the size of Texas and a real issue with authority. It would be nice to see him get his own book so I could get something from his POV. Something tells me he's wicked pervy. Not that that 's the only reason I want more Colby.

I had small memory term capacity, so I didn't really remember a lot from the previous two books (lol). BUT, it doesn't matter because as soon as I read the first chapter, I remember how much FUN this series are and how much I love Janet, her sexy dragon boyfriend, Mick, and her round-about friends.

AH! I cannot stop talking about how much I adore this wonderful (still fairly new) series by Allyson James! For those not familiar, the series followers half-Navajo Janet Begay, a Stormwalker who can bend the power of storms to her will. Oh, and she also is the daughter of an evil goddess who has passed on dangerous Beneath magic to Janet. She lives in a small Arizona town, owns a quaint hotel, has a ridiculously hot and sweet boyfriend, Mick, and trouble seems to follow Janet where ever she goe...more
