Just when I thought I read everything there was to know about cats, I found a book that can teach me even more. Did you know that declawing a cat is prohibited in most other countries? Or that all kittens are born with blue eyes? And the ideal temperature for their food is 100 degrees because its the same temperature that their prey would be in the wild. For those of you allergic to cats, you are actually allergic to the protein in a cat`s saliva.

The book is filled with adorable pictures and is

I went to the library with a list of recommended cat behavior books. This was not on the list but I checked it out anyhow just because the cat on the cover looks a lot like my new kitten. As it turned out I liked this book better than the books on my list. It was a little repetitive with some of the same info in the text, picture captions, and text boxes, but I didn't mind too much because it was exactly the kind of basic, interesting, and often useful information about cat behavior that I was l ...more
Too general, with nothing really new to me. Lovely photos, though.

Really interesting book -- would be especially helpful if you are contemplating getting a kitten or a second cat. Found some good insight as to why my Hoover does what she does! Also noted that I'm supposed to leave her alone when she is sleep, which is really difficult for me to do sometimes!! I'll be sharing some of this info with John...we want to be the best parents we can be!
I really enjoyed this book and it has made me realise that some of my cats habits aren't so weird after all!

The book even has a section on feral cats which is useful if, like me, you own a cat or are thinking of getting a cat that used to be feral.

The book is full of interesting facts and lovely pictures!
This was fun to read. Like who really knows what your cat is thinking? But there were numerous interesting facts & silly things. The pictures of all the cats were adorable!
Fun book aaaallllll about cats. I liked it.

Didn't really learn anything new about cats, but it had some cute stories and some very adorable cat pictures.
I was hoping for the cat equivalent of the wonderful book Inside a Dog. Oh well. This is more of a generic cat owner's manual. Decent, but nothing special.
Beautiful photos. Good info, not as comprehensive as I'd have liked, and most of the focus is on cats who go outside.
I thought I knew quite a bit about cats, but learned some very helpful facts about a multi-cat household!
Most of this I knew, but it was interesting to learn the parts that were new information for me!

A fascinating compendium about all things feline. Gorgeous photographs complement the factoids.
Beautiful photographs and intelligent text. A very informative chapter on feral cats.
Nora aka Diva
Very useful for helping to cope with an extremely naughty, stubborn cat.

Covered a ton of important topics, and written in a clear and precise manner!
I'm giving an extra star just for the cute pictures.
I LOVED this book! Very insightful!
