Oh, oh, oh! I just have one thing to say about this novel, wow.
This one was sooo much better than the first (and the first was amazing), and if I had any questions or doubts or misgivings about this series, they were completely destroyed by Quest.

First off, Kishan. Most bad-boys in novels always stay aloof, and I know that they are supposed to be irritating like that, but most YA novels have crossed the line, heck, practically leaped over it, and have annoyed me soo much that I've just wanted to...more

Yes, I realize I am in the minority of people who hate this book. But I do have reasons. It is not just because I am bored and want to go trolling. I happened to find Kelsey extremely annoying, her "voice" as a teenager very unrealistic, the "devoted good boy and ultimate bad boy I must choose from" to be an overly used cliche, and the books had a dragging plot and what I like to call an absent villain. (Remember what I say: a book is only as good as its villain. You know it to be true.) Okay......more

Tiger's Quest is one of those books that I honestly cannot fully express how I feel about it. Much how I felt with Tiger's Curse back when I read it in January, I had mixed feelings. The story has a lot going for it in terms of characterization and adventure -- but it also has many flaws, particularly its tendency to fall back on Twilight-esque moments and twists that the story really doesn't need. Stories need tension and conflict, but sadly here a lot of the conflict...more

I just. Couldn't. Do it. I gave a long winded rant/review of the first book Tiger's Curse but I also said that because I was interested in the plot & liked all the characters EXCEPT Kelsey (because she's annoying & z moron), I would read the second book (this one). Man, everything I hated about the first book is is present in the second. More (& more & more) info-dumping- it's like the author is telling us, "See! I really really researched this- I know what I'm talking about!" I...more

I liked Tiger's Curse, but I LOVED Tiger's Quest. I initially gave this book four stars, but I'm upping it to five because I cannot stop thinking about it. As soon as I turned the last page, I preordered Tiger's Voyage because I am in desperate need of a resolution for that cliffhanger!

Colleen Houck is a storyteller. The writing is not perfect, but I am willing to overlook the flaws because the characters are so compelling, the romance so sizzling, and the quest so epic. Reading this book evoked...more

ok, now we're talking Tiger's Quest. This book was much better than Tiger's Curse. Same simply written story. Great action, adventure, a couple of fingernail biter episodes! I could envision all the different quests that they were on. My favorite was the fairyland. I couldn't put this book down. Then I got to the last page and scre-e-e-med! Where is book 3!!! I was frantic... what's happening, what's going on...what will happen now. I got so into this story that I thought I was in it. It's taken...more

I am lucky to have received an ARC copy of Tiger's Quest. I was simply giddy when I got it in the mail. I even did a little happy dance. You see, I have become obsessed with the Tiger series all over again. (I actually read the first two books in the series when Colleen was self published) I just love these books. It is going to take a awhile to get them out of my system.

Tiger's Quest will be take you on an emotional roller coaster ride as Kelsey, Ren and Kishan's adventure continues to break th...more

I thought the 2nd book in Colleen's Houck's series was better than the first. I liked how she took a step back and allowed us to get to know Ren better and watch Kelsey's and his relationship really grow. At the same time, I liked how the story turned and I found myself cheering for others to succeed as the book progressed. The book is a mixture of adventure, love story, comedy, and magic all rolled into one. Colleen has made learning about India and mythology fun as it relates to her story. I c...more

(I thought I'd take a leaf out of Jillian's book and load up with tags. I love the way her shelves are basically a miniature review before you even reach the text.)

Okay, Colleen Houck, you win. I am actually glad I read this book. There, I admit it. After the torturous struggle that was the first one, I persevered into this because I already owned it and to my surprise, I enjoyed myself. I still won't read the third because I've heard the drama gets even worse and really, my delicate system cann...more

Wow. Tiger's Quest was riveting! This book was so well written that it could be picked up and read as a first, and the series could still be followed! So many parts in it touched my heart, and I found myself actually feeling Kelsey's struggles as she went through it.

In particular, when Kelsey dreams of Ren, and he calls her "wife of my heart," I had to put the book down and cry...the love expressed there is what every girl dreams of!

A few questions that will eat me alive until I can get my hands...more

0.5 star, there's no way in hell I'll give this book more.

Take my words, Colleen Houck totally fails as an 'author', she offers us nothing bout cardboard cutout characters, empty headed heroine who seems to have no thought of her own, uninteresting and unrealistic dreamboat love interests, supporting character (Mr. Kadam) who's only there for the inform dump and being an all-knowing, all-useful plot device.

Beside all these, we also get a silly, painful-to-look-at love triangle--when one of the...more

LOVED this book, it was soooo goood! Everything I had hoped for and more, wrapped up in a beautiful, well done package. Tiger's Quest picks up were we left off. Kelsey is back in the states and off to college, and completely heartbroken over leaving Ren. Which she should be what was she thinking. I see her reasoning, but still... I am not going to be able to tell much of the plot in this story for fear of ruining it for you. Sufficed to say that once again Mrs. Houck takes us on an amazing journ...more

Like its predecessor...the second book in Colleen's TIger series is a rich and masterfully developed tale of all that is great about reading. I appreciate all the elements that this book/series blends because it satisfies my love of historical fiction, reading about strong female leads, fun and scary action sequences and even romance, which I hadn't even realized I was so into reading (lol). There really isn't anything I can say that I didn't like about this book with the possible exception of t...more

I loved it again the second time around. I'd forgotten a few things, so I'm glad I'm re-reading this so I'm up to speed when I read the new release!

(8/11) Ah!! An ultimate cliffhanger ending!!

Kelsey is back in the states attending college and trying to forget Ren--but that's easier said than done. She ends up going on another quest (this time to the Himalayas) to try and break the curse, but since Ren is captured, she's goes with Ren's brother, Kishan.

I love absolutely loved this series!!

Tiger's Quest is arguably better than Tiger's Curse. In Colleen's second novel we dive right into the action. We learn about the turmoil and anguish that Kelsey has been going through ever since she left India, and ultimately Ren, at the end of Tiger's Curse. It was heartbreaking to read about her decision to start dating other men, but I admired her determination to try and move on. I for one would NEVER be able to do that if I had someone like Ren. Although her decision to leave Ren was hard t...more

As much as I cherish this series, I can't seem to LOVE this second book.
There were a lot of disturbing facts to be faced with for a "five star rating".

(This review is mostly about the my feelings against the twisted relationship that is between Ren, Kelsey and Kishan. I don't think it will spoil any plot or the story line of the book but be warned, I'm going to be graphic about this. )

I knew going into this book, that it was going to be about Kishan, Ren's brother, trying to steal Kelsey's hea...more

I'm beginning to wonder if Colleen Houck dribbled some crack between the pages of these books because they're seriously addicting.

I had no idea how Houck could follow up the amazingness that was Tiger's Curse, but somehow, she exceeded my expectations. I was left in such an emotional tizzy at the end of this book that I don't know how I'm going to wait until November for the next book.

As I've mentioned before in my review of Tiger's Curse, Houck's s...more

After devouring Tiger's Curse, I had to hop right back on to Amazon and download Tiger's Quest on my iPod. I then proceeded to devour Tiger's Quest, even though I kept telling myself not to read it so fast, book 3 isn't even out yet! I couldn't help myself! :)

The first part of the book details Kelsey back in the real world, going to college and dating. Her experiences made me laugh out loud, reminding me of many dates I've had. It was fun to see her trying new things, meeting people and learning...more

I really had to push myself to pick up this second book and start reading. The first book bothered me in a lot of ways and I found the main heroine, Kelsey, to be incredibly annoying. Having said that, there were some very interesting things about the story including the Indian culture and history which in the end were enough to make me continue.

Book 2 was an improvement over the first and I am not disappointed that I read it. Kelsey did grow as a character and I liked how Kishan came into his...more

I read this book in a day. I could not put it down. I was laughing out loud and in tears by the end. I won't spoil it but it is an emotional roller coaster. I want to read the 3rd book and don't know if I can wait for it. I love how the author weaves all the myths and legends in with Kelsey and her quest. Colleen's writing is so descriptive that you can see the pictures in your head like a movie as you are reading. I was on the edge of my seat the whole book and I didn't want it to end.

Here is my review:

No, no, no.

YES! YESSSSS! Finally, YES!

NO, NO, NO, NO.

NOOOOOOOO! This cannot be happening. NOOOOOOOOOOOO! NO NO NO NO NO!

The End.

Slam the book shut.

November is WAY too far away.

(and that really is my review because saying much more would give it all away. Oh, and I'm still a bit worked up.)

Once again I was awe struck by Ms. Houck's great imagination! (**,) She's such a good author that it makes me want to go to India, mainly to explore their culture, see a white tiger and of course to taste their food. She also introduced us to some high places like Nepal and Tibet and the imaginary place like the Shangri-La.

If there's once place I want to live in for the rest of my life, it's probably in Shangri-La. It's so peaceful and beautiful! I'm nature lover so that place is really close to...more

Like Tiger's Curse, I LOVED this book. I was a little worried at the beginning, wondering if Ren would come for her, but he did. I loved when Ren and Li were competing for Kelsey! It was awesome, though I would find it annoying if I were Kelsey, I would dump Li and go with Ren, but that's me. Then...when Ren was kidnapped. When I found out that he didn't make it on the plane, I admit I cried. I was so sad and when I read it I counted the chapters until I got to read 'Saving Ren'. So, me? I'm on...more

If I could I would give this book 10 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. Oh my gosh, I have not loved a book like this in a long time. Everything about it was great. The action, the story, the history, the love triangle, the world the author creates. One of my favorite parts is when the characters agree that they both want to wait until marriage to do certain intimate things. The whole thing was just so good. Have you ever had a book that you want to finish...more

Much better than the first one for me! I think that Kelsey was a lot less annoying in this one! She's actually becoming a girl that I like to read about! Teen angst gets to me sometimes! I liked the developing relationships in this book and for once I don't really know who's team I'm on! Kishan or Ren hmmmm it'd be a tough decision! This book was fun and entertaining-definately a clean romance! Not as much romance as the first one if I remember correctly! This is because Ren is only extremely pr...more

There are very few books that make me feel the way this series does! I have minor annoyances with this book, like the magical aspects of being able to produce any kind of food or cloth. Also, I kinda missed the brothers being tigers more. The more of the curse that gets broken, the less they are tigers, and I really miss that! But the wonderful way I FEEL about this book stays with me long after reading! And, oh my goodness...REN AND KISHAN!!!!...and I like Kelsey too! This is a love-triangle st...more

Great follow up book can't wait for the third book. I do have to set aside my experience with tigers at times and remember these books are fantasy. Tigers do not purr and there are no black tigers. However it is accurate that a white tiger would be from India. The Bengal tiger is the only species of tiger that carries the recessive gene to have a white tiger and Bengal tigers can only be found in India. But I kind of wish the author did not use a white tiger because it only promotes the fascinat...more

Love this series and the characters, my only problem is waiting for the next three books! The action, adventure, and love story pulled me in, but the myths/legends/stories, cultural aspects, and the characters have me hooked. This particular installment was very heartwrenching, I'm a little depressed now, but still hopeful for Kelsey's future.

They've solved two of the four tasks required to break the curse on the Indian princes, I can't wait to see what the next task will be bring. Colleen Houc...more

“There are many different types of kisses. There’s a passionate kiss of farewell—like the kind Rhett gave Scarlett when he went off to war. The kiss of I-can’t-really-be-with-you-but-I-want-to-be—like with Superman and Lois Lane. There’s the first kiss—one that is gentle and hesitant, warm and vulnerable. And then there’s the kiss of possession—which was how Ren kissed me now.
It went beyond passion, beyond desire. His kiss was full of longing, need, and love, like all those other kisses. But, it was also filled with promises and pledges, some of which seemed sweet and tender while others seemed dangerous and exciting. He was taking me over. Staking a claim.
He seized me as boldly as the tiger captured his prey. There was no escape. And I didn’t want to. I would have happily died in his clutches. I was his. And he made sure I knew it. My heart burst with a thousand beautiful blooms, all tiger lilies. And I knew with a certainty more powerful than anything I’d ever felt before that we belonged together. ”
