I loved this! Although the edition I read was different from the one specified here. The one I read was a library hardback with yellowed pages that I tried not to tear out. It was printed in 1888. (I love old books!) Anyhow, Phantasmagoria was probably my favorite. A Valentine and Poeta Fit, Non Nascitur are also new favorites of mine. This collection also has The Hunting of the Snark (which I might have skipped, ssssh, because I've read it before). That one's excellent too, although, I'll admit ...more

As always, the math lessons are the best:
To calculate 2 + 1:
Start with 3, add 7 and 10,
Multiply by (1000-8)
Divide by 992
Subtract 17.

The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.

His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.
