You know, I didn't realize it was a Tom and Scott mystery until just now. I believe I abandoned one of the other books as well.

I couldn't make it past the first two chapters. The writing is just horrible!

A conversation between two people. Tom (first person POV) would talk. Then the other person in the conversation would say a line of dialogue, then Tom would sum up what else the person went on to say. 3 times in a row in the same conversation. Let the character speak for himself!

This is probably closer to 3.5 stars.

I enjoyed the mystery in this one, and Tom and Scott are a fantastic couple. I think the writing style of this one has improved compared to the first book in the series.

I also think every school has a student similar to Becky Twitchell.

3.5 stars. Good gay mystery in which high school teacher Tom is asked to help out a student accused of murdering his girlfriend. I really enjoy the dynamic between Tom and his partner Scott.
