A Blood Moon
by
Bitten Twice

Alejandro was a great king before he died. In life, he had been Alexander the Great. In death, he was just as large. He held two lives, one public and one private. In public, he was Lex Macedo, the Billionaire of Macedo Inc. a web-hosting giant. Privately, he had too many aliases to count, most of them some sort of derivation of Alexander. He never used a family name as this was a luxury he could ill afford. Alexander was the young King of Macedonia and skilled in the a...more

I really loved this book. It has a different twist to your usual vampire book and is packed with fast pacing action.

Bitten Twice weaves her magic stories again with "A Blood Moon." Alexander (Alex, Xander, Alejandro--just to name a few aliases) Macedo is actually the historical Alexander the Great but now walks the earth as part of the undead club. He is drawn to Jacqui "Jack," a human, but when Lina walks back into his life - also a member of the not-so-alive club, he decides to get reacquainted with her. Lina is a demon and the daughter of Lucifer. As hell becomes more unstable (you wouldn't think that to b...more

I like the subtle sexiness and mysterious element of the cover. It's very classy and well-done.

Plot

The relationship between the vampire and his human familiar did not turn out like I expected it to. This both disappointed and surprised me. It disappointed me because I'm so used to vampire stories that have the vampire and human falling in love and finding a way to be together. While the vampire and human do love each other in this story, there was a twist that I was not expecting ... thus...more

A Blood Moon is the first in the Macedo Ink vampire series. The story is centered on Alexander, King of Macedonia. That is right; Alexander the Great is a vampire. He is kind of involved with Jacqui Bruson, a private investigator who has to have all the answers. Jacqui’s assistant is Samantha, another wonderfully complicated character. Don’t want to give too much away, because there is a lot of personal development that Sam goes through. Throw in Catalina, a woman in trouble and you have a recip...more

I loved this book from the first page and I found myself unable to put it down. I was drawn into a world of love and murder that had me hooked until the last page.

The author does a wonderful job of bringing all the characters together within the novel. The description used is excellent and helps the reader feel like they are watching the events of this novel unfold before their eyes. I loved the uniqueness of this novel and to me it stands out from all the other novels of similar themes that I h...more

A fantastic debut book from the Macedo Ink Series on the Vampire theme by Bitten Twice.
The story is well structured which gives the book good rhythm and pace. The plot is interesting and she does a grand job intertwining witches, vampires and werewolves. The author further does an excellent job of bringing out the uniqueness of the characters as they develop.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This author is one to watch!

I enjoyed this book, mostly. The characters and roles got me confused. And seriously, using the male version of a female's name just made it worse for my brain. Jack and Sam are female characters and when I'd read their names I'd have to stop for a nano-second and remember whe they were. It's just me.
