6-1-11~I'm replacing my old review with this one, as promised, b/c this one contains spoilers for the book.

A little background…I picked up Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changling series on a whim back in 2006 with Slave to Sensation…and when I was finished with that book, I was immediately drawn to Hawke’s story and my fervent hope that eventually A) it’d get written soon and B) his HEA was Sienna Lauren who was 16 at the time. Each subsequent book after that I read hoping for bits and pieces of Hawke’s st...more

First off, let me say that I'm completely biased when it comes to Hawke, so don't expect this to be a sensible and impartial "review". ;)

Photobucket

Hawke alone deserves 5 stars, and I'll just be honest and say that I'd love this book even if the plot was utter crap - which it isn't, of course.

I became obsessed feel in love with Hawke the moment I met him in Slave to Sensation, the first book in the series:

Hawke was muscular and he was lethal. A predator to the core. His eyes were the same icy blue whether

Favorite Quote: “You sure you want to play with the wolf, baby?”

Favorite Quote #2: The crowd was chanting, “kiss, kiss, kiss” when Hawke walked inside.

That was when Sienna learned the meaning of the term alpha.

Favorite Quote #3: "Scared?" Hawke’s smile held no humor. "You should be baby." Then he kissed her and it was no tender exploration, no playful tease. This was the kiss of a man who knew precisely what he wanted.

Hawke, alpha of the SnowDancer pack and Sienna, a Psy that has found refuge wi...more

This book just blew my mind Photobucket

Bye Bye brain Photobucket

After waiting through 9 books to get to this one
(yes, freaking 9 Photobucket, freaking (although fantastic) books) I have to say - IT DIDN'T DISSAPOINT!

Kiss of Snow is one of the best books I've read Photobucket (not just this year :P ) it deserves atleast a 100 of these guys Photobucket

After dancing around each other for the last nine books (nine!!), Hawke has reached the limits of his self-restraint, and Sienna's control over her abilities is virtually non-existent when she's aro...more

5+ stars – Paranormal Romance

WOWZA! The most anticipated installment in the phenomenal Psy-Changeling series definitely delivers the goods and lives up to the hype. It’s an intense, passionate, and emotional epic romance with smoldering sensuality and thrilling action that is pure tribute to Hawke fanatics. It satisfied my super high expectations and then some. I was completely and utterly captivated by every word from beginning to end, and my only complaint is that I didn’t want it to be over....more

This was one of the best PNR books I've read this year. Unlike some well-known authors, who have gotten lazy and putting out inferior books in their series, Singh is still at the top of her game and reaching higher. A great romance, and she furthers the general storyline with a powerful, exciting story.

This is probably one of the most beautiful and sexy love stories I've read in awhile. The whole book was one long seduction scene. It's too bad that this book will not be read by mainstream romanc...more

I read this book Friday. Now it's Monday and I'm still an incoherent schmuck. I have been wrecked, y'all.
I want to read more books about Hawke and Sienna. I feel like their story could go on and on and never get old or boring. It makes me wish they had their own series like Elena and Raphael do in the Guild Hunter series :P

For all who worried about Sienna's character in this one, let me assure you, she rocks. She is strong, stubborn, feisty, wise, intelligent, fiercely loyal and she loves with...more

One of the most anticipated books this year is Kiss of Snow (book #10) by Nalini Singh. Nalini has come a long way with her Psy-Changeling series. I can still remember the first time I picked up Slave to Sensation back in 2006, knowing I found an author I’d stick with for life. Nalini is an incredibly talented author, and if you’re not reading her books, you’re missing out on something special.

I read Kiss of Snow a few months ago and was on the fence whether or not I should review it. The reason...more

Rating: 4-

I wrote TWO different kinds of reviews. The one written here contains spoilers, the other one, an Early Review, I've "published" here (better link: here) has been written on April 5th, 2011 and is spoilerfree.

Here my first thoughts (I shared them with the folks here which might explain some things like me mentioning "our" theories etc.)

1: This is sooo damn cute, cause it's true what Singh wrote there (Picture): (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)]

Ah, Hawke and Sienna’s book… It has been the most anticipated release of the series for me. All that tension between them and the curiosity of how they would end up together (with him already having had a mate) has made for a very long wait. While this book didn’t exactly rock my world the way I thought it would, it is still definitely worth the wait.

I really enjoyed Sienna in this book. She got tired of the games and she took a stand. She didn’t make unreasonable demands of Hawke, but she let h...more

For Nalini Singh’s tenth book of the Psy-Changeling series, we decided to do something special for this Kiss of Snow review. Since we are all big fans of his series, we decided to write a “review” as an IM transcript. Please note that what you read below is actually a real conversation between Francesca and I and that the opinions expressed here are our own and events that take place did in fact happen.

We hope you enjoy and let us know in the com...more

Much like a decadent dessert, Kiss of Snow is the type of book that you want to devour slowly because you don’t know when the next time will be that you get to indulge in something so delicious and satisfying. Normally, when I’m enjoying a book I plow through it, but with this one I wanted to take my time so I would have something to look forward to everyday. Hawke, the alpha of the SnowDancer pack is an enticing and darkly seductive leading man who is tormented by his desire for the X-Psy Sienn...more

For this book, Singh continues to explore the intricate society of the SnowDancer wolf changeling pack from "Play of Passion." While I enjoy learning about how the Psy and human parts of this world interact, I will admit that the changeling novels are among my absolute favorites.

Sienna Lauren caught my interest from her first appearance in the series and I loved getting to know more about the X-Psy power. I adore fragile-looking women who have serious power like Sienna in paranormals. The dicho...more

(3.5 stars) In addition to the long awaited pairing of Snow Dancer wolf alpha Hawke and Psy Sienna Lauren, Kiss of Snow offers a big showdown between the Psy and the wolves, the birth of Lucas and Sascha's child and a second romance between Sienna's uncle Walker and pack healer Lara - as well as tons of cameos from the huge cast of the now ten book long series.

As the sum of its parts, I liked Kiss of Snow. The parts where the Snow Dancer's make preemptive strikes against the Psy and the final b...more

May Recommended Read. My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/recom...

In the world of the Psy, being anything other than cold and emotionless can get you killed – or worse. Sienna Lauren’s family defected from the PsyNet when she was a teenager, seeking refuge with the powerful SnowDancer pack. In Sienna’s case, life free of the Silence Protocol is both a precious gift and an incredible threat. For Sienna is an X-Psy, a rare designation whose powers leave h...more

This is my favorite book so far of 2011. I really loved it, and stayed up way too late too finish it. I can honestly say the book is well worth the wait, and is, if not the best book of the series, equally as good as the best. Nalini did an amazing job of drawing out the sexual and emotional tension and conflict, and even though I knew I was going to get a happy ending, I really wondered just how that could be possible. Great read. I want to read it again, because I feel like powere...more

I'm not going to go into plot details because other reviewers have done that better than I could have.

I think this might just be my favorite of the whole series, right up there with play of passion. It is not just because Hawke is my absolute favorite character (how can you NOT love the hotness that is Hawke?).

See, Kiss of Snow isn't perfect. At all. In fact it has a lot wrong with it. for example the story (Sienna and Hawke's) was fast. I felt like i didn't have time to savor it. And there we...more

This is another great entry in the series. I liked the conflict with the Council scenes as contrast to the developing love stories.

Singh seems to feel we've read other stories in the series, as she was a bit short on the world-building in this one. Not a stand-alone read.

Other than that, the plot, characterizations, themes really made my brain happy. I'll say it was worth buying at full price in hardcover for a fan of the series (which I did and which I am).

I will be reading it again.

First of all, kudos to Ms. Singh for brilliantly rounding out the first arc of the Psy-Changeling series. I have been enraptured by the characters comprising this world since Slave to Sensation, and like many others, have been waiting impatiently for Hawke and Sienna’s book.

Kiss of Snow has quite a few things going on: against the backdrop of Hawke and Sienna confronting their feelings for one another, there is the ongoing war with members of the Psy Council, a secondary romance between SnowDan...more

As the final story in the current Arc of the Psy-Changeling series, I have been impatiently waiting to get my hands on Nalini Singh's book, Kiss of Snow. I don’t think I can form a coherent word right now!

This book was abso-fricken-lutely amazing!! If I could give it more of those orange stars I most definitely would!!!

Hawke hands down for me my favourite male hero of the series! I honestly cannot form anything that will make sense my mind is in overdrive!!

Can someone please scrape me up off the floor?

Kiss of Snow is absolutely a tribute for the fans. Since Slave to Sensation I've been drooling over the luscious, uber-masculine, sigh worthy alpha of the Snowdancer wolf pack. You thought Lucas was yummy? You have no idea.

Sienna is now 19, a full adult but wise beyond her years, mature beyond anyone in her peer group because of what she's lived through. Because of what she is: a Psy. Hawke, alpha leader of the Changeling pack who took in the Lauren...more

If I could, I would give it more then 5*. It was spectacular! One of the best books I have ever read(judging by the amount of crying I did :D).
Hawke and Siena are great characters and I loved their love story. (view spoiler)[The relationship between Lara and Walker is also great. How he started taking care of her and confessing things he wouldn't normally speak with no one... And discovering that he is a dominant, who would have thought with him being so silent.

Great first half or so, but repetitive after that. Not as powerful as I expected and I disliked the fact that Hawke was not exactly what we saw in the previous books, was much more positive to the idea of dating Sienna at last and Sienna had no problem controlling her power when Hawke was near. I expected more emotional tension and less sexual frustration.

H and S were amazing together! I was so excited about this ARC that I did a crazy happy dance. I was still doing my crazy happy dance after the book was over!

Wow - Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling world is mind blowing! I have been waiting for Hawke's story and love that he was paired with Sienna. Their chemistry is off-the-charts fabulous. I love how every story written by Nalini Singh utilizes all the previously introduced characters and yet each book is so distinctly different. I had a fear in the back of my mind that Hawke wouldn't live up to my expectations. Over the course of reading this series I had imagined all these versions in my mind of how...more

I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing.
