Kailin Gow out does herself every time, i havent quite read an auther like her who can manipulate such simple words and actions.
EVERYTIME too.
Its truely amazing reading one of her books. no matter what your age, you will fall deeply in love with her novels. theres a home, a character in each of her books for everyone that you will connect with.
The most important factor in this novel is the detail. The chapters are so embellished,& elaborate, that the actions speak in volume. Utterly surpris...more

I was so happy to see Breena, Kian and Logan again in Feyland. That’s my favorite place to be always when I need to leave my world but I really love Feyland when things are going good there, which is fairly rare! When they’re going bad is just as much fun because you never ever know what’s going to happen in the courts!
I was surprises to see the character growth in all the characters and most that know me, that’s a bit one by the third book. Ms Gow did a superiour job! I couldn't put the book do...more

To my delight, I found Silver Frost had an early release, and immediately bought it this morning! I could not put this book down. While the previous Frost books were more fairy tale, this one gives an epic feel. Breena is now Queen, and she must mature quickly. Within her own court, she is in danger. She has matured in her wisdom and magic. Now she must learn to use it. Bitter Frost sets up the background to the Frost Series by introducing Breena and Feyland. Forever Frost sets up Breena to beco...more

I am elated to say I really loved SLIVER FROST, the third book of the frost series. I have to admit I was underwhelmed by the first two books, enjoying the characters, but feeling the overall writing lacked the maturity and depth to truly captivate me (to be fair, the target reader is quite a bit my junior). Not true with SILVER FROST!.. where in Gow does an excellent job enchanting the reader with a much more sophisticated touch. The story continues with a strong plot that picks up right where...more
Gow, an indie author, weaves an interesting and intricate tale of a paranormal world where Fae, Pixies and Werewolves abound. I devoured the first four books in the Bitter Frost series in a single night. Bitter Frost, Forever Frost, Silver Frost and Frost Kisses were that good. I felt compelled to know what happened next and entrenched myself in the story of Breena, Kian and Logan. My real disappointment however is that each book feels like a abbreviated read. The four books could have been comb...more
Silver Frost surpasses Bitter Frost and Forever Frost. With each book, the series gets better. The world-building of Feyland is lush throughout Silver Frost, and you get the sense of Feyland. Breena and Logan travels through Feyland, encountering some of the creatures who are now Breena's deadly subjects. Breena, now Queen, continues the quest of her father's. She's also disguised as a knight, handy with her sword and magic. Through this quest with Logan, she is brave and honorable. Then when sh...more
Silver Frost is the third book in the Frost series by Kailin Gow.
This time around we are back in Feyland and with the Summer Queen dead Breena is crowned the new Summer Queen. Although she is unsure if she can trust the previous queen's advisor's they are acting strange around her. Breena must come up with a plan to stop the war between the Winter and Summer court once and for all and she isn't sure who to turn to for help.

I'm not sure what to make of this series. I have liked it well enough so far, but I keep having that feeling like things are being rushed, that its too fast (which is a change from a novel that is dragging on and on). There was some nice twists and turns at the end followed by yet another cliffhanger.
I'm not a fan of love triangles. At all. I always feel bad for the one that is left pining and I have a feeling that Logan will never win. But, the series isn't over yet. I hope to see this resolved...more

OK...I read this book in 3 1/2 hours because it was that good. It kept me on the edge of my seat with the twists and turns throughout the story. I have fallen in love with this series and I cannot wait til Frost Kisses comes out.
Throughout this book I felt all of the emotions Breena experienced. I felt her love and pain and pretty much agreed with her on the decisions she made up til the last few chapters of the book. Since I am so emotionally vested in these books, I became physically sick with...more

OMG...this series just keeps getting better! I absolutly love this series. In this one Breena is more mature and more in control of her magic. She is now Queen of Summer Court and still in love with the gorgeous Kian. While dealing with issues with her people in the Summer Court she also has to deal with the Winter Court Queen that does not approve of her relationship with Kian. Then there is her best friend Logan who becomes part of a love triangle between her and Kian. I like Logan, he's a gre...more

The series is definitely getting better
More different and distinguishable from other novels featuring the Fey
Much to my disappointment the love triangle didn't end in the last book, and has indeed become more freaking complicated than ever
**sigh** why is it always so hard.
I have to say though, I just can't stand the whole idea of enchanting someone to love someone else, frankly it's the easy way out, yes, it does create a lot of conflict and confusion in a book but it's darn annoying...more

This is book #5 in the Bitter Frost series. I was pleasently surprised with all the action and the choices Breena had to make, post personal and political. I enjoyed the whole series and look forward to the next book coming in Dec.If you want paranormal in fairies reals, action, fighting, testing the crown you will be pleased. Each book was smaller than a full lenght book (500pages or more) but they were easy to read and a fast read at that. I would reccemend this book for YA all the way up to adu...more
it was absolutly wonderful- and I did not see that ending coming the way it did and I was really hoping to see her and Kian together at the end- i didn't like it that he stabbed her- where does that leave her and Kian? and whats going to happen to the fairy winter and summer courts now? the one other thing that I was waiting for was for Breena to get her Dad out of his long slumbered curse and in the book she didn't try to help her Dad or mention her worry for him- she just went on with her life

CHARACTERS || Slowly losing interest. Breena is torn between kingdom and love. If I were her I'd choose the former, but it's up to you to find out what really happened.
WRITING || Again with the cliff-hangers, will they ever stop? Oh yeah, I might be late in saying this but if you're not a fan of Wicked Lovely and the likes, then this isn't the book for you. It's similarity is alarming but in my opinion, I like the writing better here. And that is from a non-biased perspectiv...more

I was disappointed with this sequel of Bitter Frost. Because she ended up with the wrong men/wolf/I don't like him. She should still be. With Kian and Logan should have died at the Pixie Palace, so Kian and Breena could be happily together. Then Kian killed her which is also kind of a buzz kill. Three stars.
Breena is now the queen of the Summer Court and she has a lot of responsibilities on her hands. She can't choose between Kian and Logan. There are so many problems that she has for example the war between the Winter and Summer courts. She needs to find a way to resolve all of the problems.
The message of this book is that having a lot of responsibilities is a great hardship for anyone. It is very important to make sure you don't crack under pressure, and you have the skills to be patient with ma...more

All I can say is wow!!!! This book has left me speechless and I am still reeling from the ending. It is a good thing that I have the next book in the series or I would be devastated right now. I love this series and I am worried to start the fourth book because the fifth doesnt come out till November and if the ending is like this one I will just freak out. I hate when you have to wait months upon months for the next book in a series when it ends with a cliff hanger. Oh well I guess I will just...more

“We are meant to be.” He pressed his lips to mine again; against myself, against my worry, I once again succumbed to the power of his kiss. “I know that now. Our love is stronger than magic, stronger than the laws of all Feyland. It will survive this...whatever the future brings.” - Prince Kian, Silver Frost.”

“A king without a Queen." Kian sighed, breathing mist into the air. He held me tighter, kissing me with a heat that seemed to thaw the very snow on which we stood. "You don't know me as well as you think you do," he said. "What I'm holding back. What I'm capable of. You haven't felt it - how much I love you...”
