This book definitely takes you on a ride....on a LOT of things actually;)

Falon is a girl on the run. She grew up bouncing from one foster home to the next, until one day she fled. She has been on the run, barely surviving, having to steal her meals ever since. She knows that she is different. Weird things seem to happen when she is around. And then there is the rage....

Everything goes from strange and lonely, to stranger and horrid when Falon walks to Mr. D's deli to steal her dinner. She can fe...more

MY THOUGHTS:

WARNING! This review will contain squealing, fan-girl obsessions and perhaps a happy dance!

Blood Law is one of the best books I’ve read this year! I’m not quite sure what I was expecting when I picked up this book. Having never read anything by Karin Tabke before, I did not have any real expectations. But once I opened this book, I was completely blown away by the attention to detail, the complex...more

I made it to 17% but couldn't continue after heroine was nearly unconscious from injuries and didnt even know who was fucking her. The hero marked her, mated her, and took her virginity and didn't even know her name. Easy dnf for me. I wasn't much into the story anyway.

I have nothing nice to say...so like my mother says, I won't say anything at all.

Bah! If I had God-like powers, I would put all the Lycans and all the Slayers ( and one specific half-breed) in a Colosseum and cheer them on as they massacred each other; such mass stupidity should go extinct! I would especially enjoy seeing the blood of Rafa ( that's the pet name the heroine gives to our manly lusty hero); I disliked him and found him to be a poor love interest (jerk) at the beginning of the story. When one intends on delivering one's lover to be sacrificed and probably tortur...more

Falon Corbet is almost malnourished. She is an orphan who has been living on her own for a while now. She ran away from her last home and she never stays in a place for too long. She has some episodes of rage that she can't explain which makes it hard to keep a job. When she goes into a convenience store to steal food she meets a man, who calls himself a slayer and wants her to join him. She tries to fight him but he is stronger than her. Then her life becomes even weirder when another man comes...more

I soo love this book. It was soo much more than I expected. I got this for my e-reader and still it cost me $12.99. It was sooo worth the cost. I will be getting the other two.

This book was great in all aspects. It has everything a great story needs. A great plot, passion in the fact that all 3 main characters believe wholly in their beliefs as they see them. You have action between Werewolves and Slayers, Age old vendettas between both slayers and wolves and brothers. Rafael is the righteous b...more

Favorite Character - Falon

Here is my visual of Rafa & Falon

Are you drooling? ;) Wait till you read the book :)

(teeheehee) ;)

The story was an interesting mix of sex, action, shifters & slayers. I am a complete wolf fan girl - no reanimated corpses in my knickers *shakes head* nuh-uh, so this book really worked for me. The fact it had two hot sexy alphas in it made my night! I couldn't decide which one a fancied more, what a book character slut i have...more

Blood Law is the debut in author Karin Tabke’s sultry new trilogy, Blood Moon Rising , mixing old and new Lycan mythology to create a fresh take on an old favorite. For those of you who don’t know, Ms. Tabke is the alter ego of Karin Harlow who I just so happen to absolutely adore! Karin makes some of the best Alpha heroes out there and she doesn’t disappoint as she brings us not one, but two.

Now there is a ton of back story to this series that you’ll only...more

This is the first book in The Blood Moon Rising series. I'm giving it a slightly higher rating because I personally enjoyed it from the beginning. Since it's the first in the series, there's definitely "world" building which starts 800 years ago. Interesting aspect on the children's lore, Peter and the Wolf and the blending of Native Indian beliefs. Like any other "firsts" there are plenty to encompass in the story. What intrigue me from the beginning are the characters, especially the two Alpha...more

The Review:

Ms. Tabke introduces her heroine, Falon, who is a dynamic and gutsy character. Falon has an uncertain past and a complicated future. She’s an orphan and knows very little about her birth parents. Every day is a struggle for Falon to survive. She can’t m...more

Blood Law by Karin Tabke
Paranormal Romance –May 3rd, 2011
4 ½ stars

Blood Law is a phenomenal new book in am exhilarating series about Lycans (werewolves).

Falon is an orphan down on her luck. Hiding and unaware of her heritage, she is startled when a strange man hunts her down. But she soon finds herself saved by a blond God welding a sword! His name is Rafael.

Rafael is an alpha Lycan. He leads a pack that is desperately trying to stay alive. He is puzzled why he would rescue a human female no ma...more

Blood Law. Book one of the Blood Moon Rising Trilogy.

The three books tells one long story. There's not really a certain arc in each book. So you have to read the books in its order. And book 1 and 2 end with a serious cliffhanger. I recommend having the next book(s) at the ready before you start reading. (I almost died when I finished book 2 and discovered I had to wait 4 whole months for book 3 to come out.)

Blood Law is a steamy paranormal romance read with a (sort of) actual plot, concept, fee...more

This is the first book I have ever read by this author. I enjoyed her writing. I will certainly read more of her books. The book was fast paced; she created a world and its history in a few short pages so that she did not take pages away from the storyline and plot. I probably will not continue reading this series until the third and final book is published, which the author’s web page claims to be June of 2012. This book ends in a monumental sized cliffhanger. Had I known this going into the b...more

I enjoyed Book #1 of Blood Law by Karin Tabke. I read Book #2 Bloodright first, not knowing it was a trilogy. The story is an erotica novel; however it does have a good plot and interesting characters. The main characters are Falon, who is half Lycan and Slayer. Rafael and Lucien who are both brothers that are full blooded Lycan and alpha's.

Basically, Falon was an orphan and never new her real parents. She doesn't know that she is a combination of both Lycan and Slayer. The Slayers want her beca...more

Warning-Cliffhanger Ending.. 4 1/2 stars otherwise

Pretty decent Shifter PNR. This one is about cursed twin Lycan brothers, torn apart by a blood law and a sibling feud. In order to break the curse and provide payment for killing his brother's mate, Rafael must give up his chosen. And in so doing, sentence his true love and an innocent to death.

The story starts off more akin to folklore than a run-of-the-mil romance. The world building turned out to be quite interesting and fairly good, and it al...more

This book is so full of hot Big Bad Wolves, I suddenly have a desire to become Little Red Riding Hood (next year's Halloween costume decided! I don't care if I'm too old for it...)

Action. Lycans. A steaming hot love triangle. What more could a girl ask for? (Chocolate. Wait! I already have that...)

I have to say, the main reason I bought this book was because it looked vaguely interesting and the romance novels were all 40% off (RIP Borders...you should've jumped on the eBook wagon sooner...)

Falon Corbet’s life is irrevocably changed when she stumbles across a murder-in-progress. Ever since she was a little girl, Falon has had feelings and premonitions that inevitably come true . . . so she can’t come up with a reasonable explanation for why she walked into that supermarket, knowing bad things would befall her entrance.

And as always, Falon was right. She was accosted by a bulldozer of a man, who was ranting and raving about Slayers and Lycans and claiming that Falon is ‘one of them’...more

The gorgeous cover for Blood Law by Karin Tabke caught my attention awhile back and I thought about reading it then forgot about it until I read the blog post “Controversy” by the author at Murder She Writes. The following declaration from the author decided me:

I knew as I wrote certain scenes some folks may have a problem with it, but I didn’t stop to make it palatable for them, I refused to soften the blow. It wasn’t going to be a pretty little bunny foo-foo, hippity-hop in the park. No way. T

I wrote a long review, which I just lost by clicking away. I can't face writing it again.

The gist was that I found the dubious or non-existent consent in some of the sex scenes destroyed whatever other enjoyment I felt. The emotional connection between Falon and Rafael was pretty much absent.

(view spoiler)[The scene in which Lucien fondles Falon while she and Rafael are having sex disturbed me on several levels. The lack of consent is clear, and we are told, even as the scene is going on, that s...more

My Review:
What an absolutely fabulous book!! Unfortunately, this is a trilogy where it looks like it is going to take all three books for the story to play out. This particular book ended on a HUGE cliffhanger, so if that kind of thing bothers you, you need to wait to read this book until book #2 (Feb 2012) and book #3 (May 2012) come out.

There is an intro into this book that explains how Lucien and Rafael (twins and now enemies) and Falon...more

3.5 STAR Review:

The Plot:

Nothing is more vengeful than an eye for an eye. For the Lycans, this saying translates to Blood Law.

Fourteen years ago, Lycan Alpha Rafael Vulkasin slayed the Chosen One of his twin brother, Lucien. Rafael maintained that Lucien's chosen mate revealed to him that she was a Slayer, an ancient exterminator of Lycan kind, and that he was charged by their laws to kill her irregardless of the fact that she and Lucien were intertwined in the most intimate of moments. To prote...more

The story has some odd time jumps and a ridiculously tight plot with action upon action, lots of gore, death and blood (quite ridiculously so, but hey - Lycans!), and sex, then more sex...all kinds of sex... ahem. I knew it would be so as: supernatural creatures = insane amounts of lust and sexiness.

It's a romance first and all else second, so I should be kind in my review, but my mind barely kept up with the way things were turning around. If you want to know how whiplash feels like, try this b...more

I took a chance on Blood Law because I was looking for something a little more adult after reading Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniels series - which I LOVED. While I still don't understand why the more adult-adult books feel the need to use terminology I deem unnecessary (C-word, etc.), I really enjoyed this book. That said, had I known it would be such a build-up to what I was expecting to be a cataclysmic ending only to have it in essence NOT end - I might have waited until book 2 was released. Talk...more

Ambrosial! Seductive! Delectable! A fascinating and exciting new take on the Lycan legend. Magic, lore and all things wolfish can be found in this new trilogy. Ms. Karin Tabke will hypnotise you with her storytelling prowess. You will be drawn into a world where only the strongest survive. I could not stop reading and pulled an "all nighter" with this one. Karin Tabke is now officially on my list of favorite authors. I'm always excited about finding new series. Although this story is on the erot...more

For a long time, controlled chaos ruled Karin’s life. Busy mother of four, owner of her own successful business and wife to a street cop, she harbored thoughts of twisting plots and hot romantic scenes. Now, with only one child left at home and hubby retired from law enforcement, Karin happily pounds out those steamy scenes at her keyboard.

Still semi-distracted by her adult children (Yay! no more...more
