Falon is a girl on the run. She grew up bouncing from one foster home to the next, until one day she fled. She has been on the run, barely surviving, having to steal her meals ever since. She knows that she is different. Weird things seem to happen when she is around. And then there is the rage....

Everything goes from strange and lonely, to stranger and horrid when Falon walks to Mr. D's deli to steal her dinner. She can feel it in the air. Tension, death, and something dark assails her senses. A battle breaks out between to men, rage starts to take her over.

Wait are they fighting over her? How dose the one guy know her name? Has she met them before?

Just when she thought she was the weird one Rafiel walks into her life. Well more like rides in on his Harley, takes out the bad guy in all his sexy dangerous glory, and kidnaps her...but semantics shmantics *shrugs* Falon doesn't know much accept that there is something some serious issues between Rafe and his twin Lucien. But she will learn very soon that the battle between her feelings for Rafe and the evil tie that binds her to Lucien ultimately means nothing when the Blood Law steps in.

Her fate was decided 14 years ago...she doesn't stand a chance.

So for me this book wasn't bad, but could have been better. There was a little too much history/information at the wrong times.

Example:
One minute your in the middle of a action packed fight scene, it's awesome, your on the edge of your seat, white-knuckle gripping the book, and then....Now we are learning about the history behind this fight. The long drawn out detail. Five pages later your brought back to the present to learn someone is fatally injured, and you think to yourself Well DUH! maybe if you were fighting instead of daydreaming about what led you to this fight and made this enemy you would have been better focused. Thus not lying on the floor with a sword through your chest.

That's what this book was like for me...some good parts mixed in with a lot of bad timing. I just felt it could have been the same story just arranged better. Also there is a few parts that, while short lived and can be easily over looked, I felt a little squidgy about. Like Rafe having thoughts about having sex with Falon, while shifting into a wolf...boarder line beastialty maybe? I dunno I mean I guess it's ok because he is a werewolf, NOT a wolf...but still it kinda creeped me.

In the end the story here is good. Falon is awesome and I love her badassness. And Mrs. Tabke knows how to leave you hanging...I will be giving the second book a looksy because I need to know what happens!(less)

Blood Law is one of the best books I’ve read this year! I’m not quite sure what I was expecting when I picked up this book. Having never read anything by Karin Tabke before, I did not have any real expectations. But once I opened this book, I was completely blown away by the attention to detail, the complex laws they abide by and the compelling characters! If I wasn’t a fan of Ms. Tabke before, I certainly am now! I LOVE THE BLOOD MOON SERIES!

I will admit, Ms. Tabke starts up early in the beginning, detailing the Blood Law and past events that have altered how Rafael and his brother, Lucien live their lives now. It was a little confusing at first because you are thrust into her world and are bombarded with a lot of information all at once. But once you get accustomed to the initial shock and the names settle in, you are right on track with her!

There are so many good things about this book! First off, the characters come off the page, grip you by your shirt and take you on a ride from beginning to end. And when I say that, I mean that Rafael and his heroine, Falon are the most compelling characters I’ve read in a long time. Rafael is the alpha of his pack and he is as ruthless as can be. There is something darkly alluring about him, where he uses fear to his advantage. At first, he refuses to accept Falon as his chosen one but despite his hardened soul, he still cares deeply for her.

Falon is my new favourite heroine! I love her! She was cunning and funny, sexy and sweet! She was the perfect counterpart to Rafe. But perhaps the best thing about her was that, she was a strong, independent heroine, one who didn’t rely on the hero to save her from her own troubles. Falon possesses some special abilities, such as increased strength and speed, but that wasn’t what made her stand out as a heroine. It’s her internal strength that really shone through for me. Falon simply kicked ass.

Another favourite character was Lucien. As Rafe was day, Luca was night and I loved that comparison. The juxtaposition in characters was clearly showcased in their confrontations and I loved every moment of this action-packed book. So much occurs and it was as if a movie was playing inside my head. I completely devoured this book and am now feeling withdrawals because I want the next book so badly!

I made it to 17% but couldn't continue after heroine was nearly unconscious from injuries and didnt even know who was fucking her. The hero marked her, mated her, and took her virginity and didn't even know her name. Easy dnf for me. I wasn't much into the story anyway.

Review:
I am so pissed I have to wait until February of 2012 for the next book in this series! This book leaves you on the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers!! Ok, that being said, I really enjoyed this book. It was non-stop, the chemistry between Rafael and Falon, the tension between Rafael, Lucien and Falon, the action with the Slayers, the history. There was never a dull moment with this book. It kept going from beginning to end. I really enjoyed Falon, she is a survivor! I always have a lot of respect for the strong alpha type females who do what they have to do to survive; she is who she is because of the trails she has had to face. Rafael is your quintessential Alpha male, he is used to being in charge and what he says goes. He has had to make some hard decisions for the good of his pack, even at the detriment of his relationship with his twin brother. For 14 years his brother has been waiting to enforce the Blood Law and now that it is upon them, Rafael knows he will not be able to give Lucien what he is owed by law. Rafael will die first!

Bah! If I had God-like powers, I would put all the Lycans and all the Slayers ( and one specific half-breed) in a Colosseum and cheer them on as they massacred each other; such mass stupidity should go extinct! I would especially enjoy seeing the blood of Rafa ( that's the pet name the heroine gives to our manly lusty hero); I disliked him and found him to be a poor love interest (jerk) at the beginning of the story. I soo love this book. It was soo much more than I expected. I got this for my e-reader and still it cost me $12.99. It was sooo worth the cost. I will be getting the other two.

This book was great in all aspects. It has everything a great story needs. A great plot, passion in the fact that all 3 main characters believe wholly in their beliefs as they see them. Now there is a ton of back story to this series that you’ll only find out if you read Blood Law, but I’m nice enough to throw you a bone (ha,ha) and give you the down and dirty. For hundreds of years, wolves have been hunted down by Slayers at the decree of King Edward I, but about eight hundred years ago during the first Blood Moon Rising, a huge battle was fought between the Slayers and the two great wolf packs – the Mondragon of Europe and the Vulkasin of the New World. Though the wolves fought bravely they were on the verge of extinction so, Singarti, the great spirit guide of the Intuit people, called to the gods for intervention who in turn; turned the wolves into Lycan so as they might blend in with the humans.

Skip ahead to fourteen years ago. Rafael and Lucien, twin alpha males of the Mondragon/Vulkasin pack, are in a blood feud. There is one law that governs the Lycans, Blood Law, where first and foremost, a Lycan must not lie with a Slayer, to do so is punishable by death. And second, if another Lycan shall take another’s person or thing, eye for an eye can be invoked. In an extreme twist of fate, Rafael returned home to find his brother, Lucien, about to mark a Slayer as his one true mate and rather than see his brother dead, Rafe slew her by his own righteous hand. However, Lucien doesn’t see his brother’s actions as kind, nor does the governing council, and Blood Law now hangs over both packs until Rafe finds a mate so Lucien can finally take his vengeance.

Fast forward to present day where Blood Law truly begins. By now, the blood feud has taken a powerful toll on the world’s leading alpha pack, pinning them against one another. One side, the Mondragon, for Lucien. The other side, the Vulkasin, with Rafeal. One single human girl stands between them both as destiny unfolds. Falon Corbet always knew she was different, but it wasn’t until Rafael saves her from Slayers and marks her as his own does she truly find out just how truly different she really is.

Trust me when I say Karin Tabke knows her alpha males. They’re dominant, arrogant, erotic and sexy as hell. It makes my breath quicken just thinking about them. Alpha Lycan, Rafe, has been avoiding connections with the female body at all cost, because he’s never wanted to be responsible for the loss of an innocent life. When he meets Falon , he sees her as nothing but a mere human. In an effort to finally be done with the blood feud, he marks her for Lucien to do with as he wills. However, the more he gets to know her, the deeper she crawls into his head. Something about Falon makes his blood quicken and his beast call to her.

When we first meet Falon, she’s desperate, hungry, and savage. Homeless and an outcast orphan for most of her life, she’s only had to rely on herself and her own fundamental moral code. When Rafe takes her, she’s confused and yet drawn to him. There were numerous times when I wanted to scream at her, so furious with her for her hair brain actions and ideas that brought her further into trouble or just plain didn’t make any since at all. She actually tip toed the line for a TSTL heroine, but I’m happy to say how well she recovers and has only the most epic come back I have ever seen!

Ms. Tabke delivers in Blood Law an intense, erotic paranormal romance with compelling multilayered storytelling. Her mythical narrative with full rich history draws in the reader, but it’s her characters that keep them glued to the pages. Although, the cliffhanger at the end wrenched a tortured sigh from my lips, I’m eagerly awaiting to read the entire trilogy to see where she will take us next.(less)

Since it's the first in the series, there's definitely "world" building which starts 800 years ago. What intrigue me from the beginning are the characters, especially the two Alpha-Twin brothers, Rafael and Lucien and what came to be of their packs.

Rafael and Lucien's are descendants of wolves who through the years have evolved to have human physical attributes, yet are able to transform into the wolves their ancestors were hundreds years ago. Like their ancestors, they rely on the pack/family and a strong leader/Alpha in order to survive. They have one mortal enemy, which are called Slayers which deal in dark magic. The goal of the Slayers is to annihilate wolves, just like their ancestors tried to do hundreds of years back in Britain and other European countries. According to the Blood Law, it is forbidden that a Wolf and a Slayer allowed to be together for it is punishable by death, for a Slayer will destroy the survival of the pack. Blending of Wolf and Slayer is "sacrilegious treason."

After almost a year being away from the pack, Rafael returns home and finds his brother literally in bed with a woman, not just any woman, but a Slayer. Surprised that his brother did not recognize the woman to be a Slayer, Rafael tried to warn his brother, but Lucien wouldn't listen (busy getting it on) - at the moment where Lucien is about to claim the woman as his life mate, Rafael sank his fangs to the woman's heart to kill her. Devastated, Lucien shifts into his wolf form and attacks his brother. They were found by their pack healer/spirit guide, Talia both brothers close to death. Calling out to the Great Spirit Mother, she begs her to spare their lives. She answers Talia's request, but with conditions. Rafael will only be in human form during the night and Wolf form most of the day. Lucien will be the opposite, in Wolf form during the night and human form during the day. Both will remain as human form for one hour during sunrise and sunset.

The story takes off from there. The reader is introduced to a young woman named Falon who has been running since she was 14 years old. She was orphaned as a young child and have been shuffled around foster homes. She tries to find jobs to earn enough in order to eat, but can't seem to get out of that cycle, until the night she decides to get food from a convenient store. Falon always knew she was different from other people. She has a keen sense of danger and can "read" people. There was something awfully wrong when she noticed two strangers in the market, instead of the little old man, Mr. Delico. Falon didn't realize her life was about to change.

Rafael sensing a Slayer walked in the convenient store aiming to get information from Victor Salene. Falon witnesses all hell breaking lose right before her eyes. A tall leather clad blond wielding two swords fighting with the man who tried to hurt her, next thing she knows she is on a motorcycle.

This book has great characters, villains and fascinating plot. It's action packed, as well as a great romance. Both Rafael and Lucien's presence as Alphas pour out from the pages. Falon emerges from her shell and is full of surprises. Keeping in mind this book is the first, I'm not surprised with the repetition or explanation of something or someone. It was very helpful to be reminded of the world that surrounds the Wolves and the Slayers and the reason why two brothers are torn apart. This book focuses on Rafael and the circumstances he had to live with after killing his brother's supposedly mate. He has always been loyal to the pack and what he did was to ensure the survival of the pack, brother or not. He killed trying to "save" his brother and in turn, made himself his brother Lucien's enemy. Lucien is determined to get revenge and what better way than making sure that his brother gets a taste of what he had to endure when his mate was killed. This story contain various relationships: between brothers, between enemies, between an Alpha and his mate, between the members the pack, etc. Their survival are dependent upon each other and will need to quickly embrace the fact, before the next rising.

I really enjoyed this book. All the elements of a great page turner and then some. I still can't believe the next one won't be available until February 2012!

Falon the heorine piqued my interest and I quickly became enamored with her quiet strength and grit to live. I found she complimented Rafeal to perfection. Rafael is an alpha Lycan. He leads a pack that is desperately trying to stay alive. He is puzzled why he would rescue a human female no matter how beautiful she is. But he decides to interrogate her on why a rogue slayer named Viktor would want her. She is a mystery he wants to unravel. However, Falon is injured and as he heals her he forms a healing bond. Blood Law is a mythical story filled with rich history that will draw in the reader!

This book makes for exciting reading because Lucien’s vengeance makes for an unbelievably emotional and tense story. Plus the Slayers are trying to exterminate the Lycans so they are hanging onto existence.

The scenes between Rafael and Falon are scorching HOT! But the best thing is the rich history that Karin Tabke has created. I wanted to know everything about their long vendetta with the Slayers. I felt like I was reading a fantasy adventure like Underworld. I was caught up in the brutal survival of their race. Rafael is aggressive and all male. Rafe fears being bonded since he knows it is instant death for his mate. He fights for the need to protect her but also to allow justice be meted, even if it pains him.

Mythical, primitive and thrilling. If you love books about shifters, dark fantasy, and steamy sex this book will thrill you!

The three books tells one long story. There's not really a certain arc in each book. So you have to read the books in its order. And book 1 and 2 end with a serious cliffhanger. I recommend having the next book(s) at the ready before you start reading. (I almost died when I finished book 2 and discovered I had to wait 4 whole months for book 3 to come out.)

This is the first book I have ever read by this author. I enjoyed her writing. I will certainly read more of her books. Not only is this one of the largest cliffhangers I have ever seen at the end of a book, but it leads to questions about the Happily Ever After for the main couple Rafael and Falon.
Falon has hidden herself from the world for years and has grown up on her own. She always knew she was different, she just never knew why. Falon is a strong female character. She is a fighter. Rafael stumbles upon her while he is pursuing Slayers. She is fighting the Slayers he is after. When he discovers that the Slayers want her, he is intrigued and sees it necessary that he take her with him to find out why she is so important to them. The attraction is fierce and quick. Rafael knows that his desire for her is also a death sentence to her. Due to a justice he inflicted on behalf of the Blood Laws his mate will suffer dire consequences for it. The history of the ways of this world is fascinating. The laws the Lycan live by are complicated and centuries old. This is just one of the many aspects that make this particular Lycan world so interesting.
The back of the book describes this as a “paranormal erotic romance.” I do not think Blood Law falls into erotic. It is a heavily sexed romance. The couple has a great chemistry and attraction. The romance moves at a smooth pace. I have full intentions of reading the remainder of the books in this trilogy, I just plan on waiting to have them both in my hands. My mind is spinning on so many different directions that the ending could lead into the second book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes shifters in a heavily sexed paranormal romance.

I enjoyed Book #1 of Blood Law by Karin Tabke. I read Book #2 Bloodright first, not knowing it was a trilogy. The story is an erotica novel; however it does have a good plot and interesting characters. The main characters are Falon, who is half Lycan and Slayer. Rafael and Lucien who are both brothers that are full blooded Lycan and alpha's.

Warning-Cliffhanger Ending.. 4 1/2 stars otherwise

Pretty decent Shifter PNR. This one is about cursed twin Lycan brothers, torn apart by a blood law and a sibling feud. In order to break the curse and provide payment for killing his brother's mate, Rafael must give up his chosen. And in so doing, sentence his true love and an innocent to death.

This book is so full of hot Big Bad Wolves, I suddenly have a desire to become Little Red Riding Hood (next year's Halloween costume decided! I don't care if I'm too old for it...)

Action. Lycans. A steaming hot love triangle. What more could a girl ask for? (Chocolate. Wait! I already have that...)

I have to say, the main reason I bought this book was because it looked vaguely interesting and the romance novels were all 40% off (RIP Borders...you should've jumped on the eBook wagon sooner...)

Human and nature at its most basic.

Just mentioning the Sons of Anarchy and Rise of the Lycan decided me to read Blood Law, and the thought of a book that could combine the elements of two of my favorite shows got me excited. She wasn’t exaggerating, she did it. Blood Law makes you feel the desperation of the Lycan race trying to save itself from annihilation and the debauchery found in the Sons of Anarchy is bold in your face. I enjoyed it immensely with a bit of unease mixed in.

Blood Law is the first book in the Blood Moon Trilogy and while it’s been labeled as a erotic paranormal romance, don’t expect the same rules to apply with this book. At all. As matter of fact, prepare yourself for a few rules to be broken.

Tabke goes into uncharted territory within paranormal romance, places that some readers will be uncomfortable with, I know was feeling uncomfortable a time or two. But I love when author dares to do something different, but can do it in a way that fascinates me and pushes me think about what I just read, and I don’t mind getting outside of my comfort zones. Sometimes I like to be pushed outside those boundaries and shocked, and possibly thrilled. Blood Law accomplished this.

The romance between Falon and Rafael, was blazing, tense and raw from the beginning, full of doubt and much stomach tingling excitement. Lucien, Rafael’s twin brother, was the constant unknown factor, adding to the intensity of the story and dynamics of the romance as to when he would claim his right to enact the Blood Law. The overall world building was dark, grim, intense and full of many diverse levels that beg to explored. I knew going in to expect the unexpected, and the unexpected is what I got. This book left me guessing until the end as to whether the Blood Law would be enacted on Falon. The ending was so unexpected and explosive. I’m still in shock over it. I’ll definitely be picking up the next book in this series.(less)

I wrote a long review, which I just lost by clicking away. I can't face writing it again.

The gist was that I found the dubious or non-existent consent in some of the sex scenes destroyed whatever other enjoyment I felt. The emotional connection between Falon and Rafael was pretty much absent.

There is an intro into this book that explains how Lucien and Rafael (twins and now enemies) and Falon ended up in this convoluted mess that they are in. There is one element of that explanation that never did come to light in this first book that I foresee casting shockwaves across ALL of the characters in this series. Wow...seriously, this book was so good!!

Falon was raised as an orphan in the foster system. She has vague recollections of her parents, but they are extremely vague. She honestly has no idea where she came from...she only knows that she seems different and has abilities that others don't.

Lucien and Rafael were co-alphas of their Lycan pack until Rafael came home and murdered the woman that Lucien had chosen as his life mate. No one believes that she was the slayer (one who kills Lycan) that Rafael saw her to be. Lucien has claimed Blood Law against Rafael, meaning that when Rafael chooses his mate, Lucien can kill her. The simple solution would be for Rafael to never choose a mate, but until he does, no one from the pack can reproduce so the pack is slowly dying.

When Rafael meets Falon, he is drawn to her and decides that since she is a human, not a Lycan, he has to sacrifice her for the Blood Law...for the good of the pack that has been divided and barren for 14 years. BUT Falon is much more than she seems.

Fabulous, emotional book!!! Lucien & Rafael are twins and the only family that they have left, but Lucien can't forgive Rafael for killing the love of his life. They have moments when you can see the bond that these two share and it's absolutely heartbreaking.

This is also a really hot and sexy book. There were glimpses of what is to come with the trilogy and I cannot wait....seriously HOT! Rafael & Falon were amazing together, but throw Lucien into the mix and wow-- there are some great books to come in this series. I just know it!!!(less)

The story has some odd time jumps and a ridiculously tight plot with action upon action, lots of gore, death and blood (quite ridiculously so, but hey - Lycans!), and sex, then more sex...all kinds of sex... ahem. I took a chance on Blood Law because I was looking for something a little more adult after reading Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniels series - which I LOVED. While I still don't understand why the more adult-adult books feel the need to use terminology I deem unnecessary (C-word, etc.), I really enjoyed this book. Ambrosial! Seductive! Delectable! A fascinating and exciting new take on the Lycan legend. Magic, lore and all things wolfish can be found in this new trilogy.
