Wow. What a wonderful, wonderful collection of stories -- particularly "Sonechka." This book reminded me of my mother -- of her sense of humor, her way of viewing the world. It wrapped around me like a beautifully observed and familiar sweater. I can't wait to read more of her work. Thank you Mina!

I like this so far but not as much as I liked Medea and Her Children (but way more than The Birthday Party). I am dreading falling in love with it only to have it end too soon since it's a novella.
It's a library book.

I was reading it on the train Moscow-Irkuck and regreted that it was too short! I like the way the author composes the story line. Short sentences. No extraordinary events. Just life!

tanto en tan pocas páginas, y un aire decimonónico, como el de los grandes maestros...
