What’s a girl to do when she walks in on her fiancé getting down and dirty with her little sister two days before their wedding? Why go on an adventure, of course! Vanessa has always been fascinated by the study of bones, but has never gotten a chance to dig. She seizes the opportunity to run away to the Loch Ness area to find evidence that the legendary “water kelpie” really did exist there. Graeme, the hero, does her a good turn when she’s in a bit of trouble and unintentionally tangles their...more

I had a hard time finishing this story. I felt like it was relatively well written with no noticeable typos. I just couldn't get into the characters. I like a book smart heroine, but did the author have to make her so socially odd? If she can understand many ancient languages, then shouldn't she be able to figure out her own society, even if she doesn't find it interesting or agreeable?
There is a cute scene where the bride seduces her new husband ... with her glasses on. Seriously. It was sweet.

Graeme Langford, a Scottish Duke and member of the British Parliament, is torn by his interest in mysteries and legends, his love of Scotland and his duty to the crown. Vanessa Pembroke. a rather bookish spinster is interested in the legend of the Loch Ness Monster and goes to Scotland to look for it. They cross paths when she goes to the wrong inn, where Graeme is having a drink and is accosted by several drunken men. He rescues her, she ends up a guest at his mother's home, and finding a man w...more

Won this in a First Reads giveaway on Feb. 22. Really excited about reading this one!

Treasure Me was full of adventure, treasure hunting, action, a little bit of the paranormal, and romance.

Treasure Me is the third book of The Legend Hunters series.

I hate reading books out of order, but since I won this book I decided I had no choice. Well, I bought the first two books halfway through Treasure Me, that's how much I liked it and enjoyed this author's writing style. The book gave enough background...more

I don’t give out perfect review scores. It seems there’s always something that could make the story a little better, the plot tighter, the characters more conflicted - something that was just a tad lacking. At least that was my opinion until I read TREASURE ME by Robyn DeHart.

I wouldn’t change a thing. This is truly one of the most delightful tales I’ve read in years.

TREASURE ME adds a pinch of Sherlock Holmes-style investigative work with a dash of Indiana Jones bravado and blends it smoothly w...more

You would assume, since this story takes place near Loch Ness, that the legend the characters are chasing would be the Loch Ness Monster. But no, DeHart takes it in a slightly more interesting direction, where the 'beastie' is actually peripheral to the search for the Loch Ness treasure and the Stone of Destiny.

Legend Hunter Graeme is the large, adventurous type apparently inhabited 18th and 19th century Scotland in droves, although he's also half English and the Duke of Rothermore (A state of...more

Jilted by her fiancé, scientifically minded Vanessa Pembrook ran away from home and headed straight for the Highlands. She did not mind getting jilted; what she minded was her fiancé cheating on her with her own sister! Seizing the opportunity, she decided to follow her ambition and prove the existence of Nessie, the legendary beast. Instead, she found the adventurer Graeme Langford. Graeme had come to the Highlands to sea...more

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

In Ms. DeHart's third installment of The Men of Solomon's series, a secret group of treasure hunters--men of wealth and title who study and seek myths and legends--were invited on an adventure with Graeme Langford, Duke of Rothmore, who's part Scottish, part English, and on a quest to find The Stone of Destiny, which, with the other four stones of the Loch Ness treasure, will complete the "Kingmaker".

Vanes...more

Redonk Nutshell: Intelligent and spirited woman gets tangled up with an adventurer on a quest to find a fabled treasure at Loch Ness

The 3rd in Robyn DeHart's Legend Hunter series, Treasure Me is a fun, guilty pleasure of an adventure story between two very head strong leads. After discovering her fiance in the arms of her youngest sister, Vanessa Pembrooke decides to indulge herself with a trip to the Scottish Highlands in order to pursue her dreams of paleontology. On her way there she crosses...more

While the story was pretty interesting - an adventurous quest to find a lost stone amongst caves by Loch Ness, the characters fell flat. The hero was just... there. His emotions went from A to B. The heroine was more interesting, smart, logical, and not taking too many stupid chances. But the hero's brother was a dim as a black hole. His mind was swayed way too easy by reasons that didn't seem all that important. If the author had spent more time building up the relationship between the two, the...more

This book is the third in a trilogy, but the first I've read. It works quite well as a stand alone novel, though.

The book has a really great mix of action, adventure, mystery and romance set (mostly) in Victorian Era Scotland that I really found quite fun and enjoyable.

However, the lead characters, while well written, didn't really seem to connect with me on an emotional level as muc...more

Ms. DeHart has written a novel that pits a spirited woman against a man who is used to having every word and command instantly obeyed. I found it funny to watch as Graeme tells Vanessa to do one thing and instead she does something completely different. Treasure Me is a good novel not only due to the sexual chemistry between the two main characters, but because of how both have had childhoods that were less than ideal which gives them a common denominator in their lives. This is a nicely written...more

Wow. Not sure if I would have rated this higher if I hadn't read the other two books in this series. They were so enjoyable and this one fell down a little.
Graeme Langford is a fortune hunter in addition to being a Duke. But that doesn't stop him from hand-fasting himself to a woman in trouble in order to save her from some inebriated bar patrons. Wait. What? He marries a woman he doesn't even know and then they fall in love? Um... okay, I guess. And the same woman is only in Scotland to prove h...more

Blah. That's how I felt about this book. The writing was subpar, and the characters were unoriginal. The heroine is the same as the heroines found in the earlier books in this series. Spirited, ignoring society's niche for women, stubborn, dropdead gorgeous, yada yada yada. Basically like you've dropped a 21st century woman into the book.

Of course, at his first site of her, the hero is enamored with our heroine. Boy, am I tired of that. Where's the build-up? Oh, wait, there isn't any. I think th...more

Vanessa was not expecting to find a husband when she ran away from her wedding, but a chain of events has led her into Graeme's life. The last thing on his mind was having to deal with a stubborn woman at his every step but his chivalry got the best of him and viola, he is now married.
They both have their own agendas and adventures to follow, can they both accomplish their goals without killing each other in the process?
How long can Vanessa fight her logic that passion is not necessary for love?...more

This is the first book by this author I have read. I was given a copy to review. This is book 3 of "The Legend Hunters".
I love the premise of this book...treasure hunters or legend hunters. It brings to mind 'Indiana Jones'! I really liked Graeme but didn't connect as well as I would have liked with Vanessa.
The action and adventure and also the dialogue was well written but I wanted a bit more tension in the interactions between the characters. Also didn't feel like all the strings were tied up...more

The third book of the legend of hunters. It's a good a thing I read the first book of this series. I liked h/h of this story. Especially the heroine she is also like the heroin in the first book.

I don't know if this is the last book of this series, because I waiting an epilogue at the end of the story. I wanto to know what happen the previous h/h. I guesa there is a forth book, because there still Nick.

Anyway I liked this book. I didn't stop reading this book, even if I have to stay up late and...more

This book certainly was one wild adventure. I liked the heroine, Vanessa. She seemed pretty intelligent and not the typical heroine we read about. This one had a brain and could think for herself. The hero was your typical handsome hunk. There was a fair amount of chemisty between them. This book was a bit too unromantic and seemed more like an historical adventure novel and less like an historical romance. I wasn’t too pleased with it, I’m sorry to say. It just didn’t suit my tastes.

This book was much better than the cover. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

i am so glad i am an only child. but the fact that her ditz of a sister being a tramp sets her on the road to true love and adventure and everything that twerp of a man she had chosen would have prevented her from acheiving so its all good. i love nessie style movies reading a book on the search was new to me. i won this from first reads

This one wasn't that great too...... I loved the first book in this series but didn't for the second and final installation. It could've been way, way better. I guess it just didn't meet my requirements but please don't hate on this author because I believe she still has so much more potential.

This one wasn't as good as the first 2 were. It was a little slower for me to read. I couldn't get into it as much as the others, but once I got more towards the end it got better. I really liked the setting of these books. I am looking forward reading more from her.

I didn't find the final of this trilogy was as emotionally satisfying as the first two books. That being said, I still enjoyed every word.

I enjoyed this book to my surprise. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to pick up the next to books to read.
