A great book for helping you understand your newly adopted shelter dog. Lots of advice especially for a dog who potties in the house and chews things. A little repetitive in places, but the how-to's are very detailed.
Bad Dog to Best Friend takes you beyond breaking a dog's bad habits. It teaches you some of the subtleties of interacting with your dog, as your dog sees it, and it's full of advice for dealing with a shelter dog.

Bad Dog to Best Friend is the author’s personal journey of rehabilitating a “used” dog with issues named Dakota. The family chose to adopt Dakota in the hopes that she would perk up their aging dog and help ease the pain of her all too eventual passing. Their first dog arrived already trained and perfect and they were naively expecting the same easy transition when they brought Dakota home. Boy, were they ever wrong.

Known by the father of my high school friend as "the strange girl who lives down the street," I have always been fascinated by the oddest things.
UFOs, mythical creatures, ghosts, plant lore, oddball insects, dogs and cats -- they all find their way into my words.
I never set out to write mostly nonfiction. I've got a head full of fictional tales, but the truth is just so darn strange! It pokes me t...more
