Thief is the second book in the Brides of Alba series and was just as compelling as the first book, if not more so. Windsor has a way with words and culture that makes you feel a part of the setting so much that you are living in the fantasy world while you read her books. It's a great escape from the present day. I thought this would be an interesting historical novel, but the book started getting preachy in the middle. I suppose if you are a good God fearing Christian you might enjoy this novel. I dislike being preached at in my novels.
Amazing book 2 in The Brides of Alba series. Redemption and love are portrayed here. A Linda Windsor novel is storytelling at it's finest.
Book two in the Brides of Alba series has turned out to be another winner (and favorite!) for me! I enjoyed Thief as much as I did Healer and it's with a LOT of excitement and high expectations that i pick up the next book in the series, Rebel.
This is the second in a series called the Brides of Alba, set in dark ages Scotland. Caden O'Byrne, exiled Scottish prince is wounded as a mercenary in battle. He is healed by a noblewoman who sends him to find her lost daughter, who was taken by Saxons years before. He eventually finds the daughter, Sorcha a lively bard singing in a tavern, and taking part in thievery. She is also engaged to marry a Saxon thane. This was a great second book in this series. I liked how the author tooled the criminal and made him into a hero in this book. It a twist that I did not see coming, I highly recommend this book!
Really liked it. Found this author on free Kindle books. Definitely a great read. Looking forward to the third book coming out soon!
Although this book has a good story line most of it was consumed with preachng. It left me with the feeling "That's all?!" I liked Linda Windsor's books that are full of romance, action, humor, life and, yes, faith, just not preaching.
Recommended for ages 16 and up for sensual scenes and comments. Medieval, Christian, Love story??? YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
