Thief is the second book in the Brides of Alba series and was just as compelling as the first book, if not more so. Windsor has a way with words and culture that makes you feel a part of the setting so much that you are living in the fantasy world while you read her books. It's a great escape from the present day. Thief follows Caden, the brother from the first book who was cast out of history country for a number of reasons, the least of which was trying to kill his brother, the heir to the thr...more
Thief is book 2 in the Brides of Alba series, and a smashing sequel it is. Plenty of sword fights, intrigue and romance is woven into this historical tale. Right from the beginning, lovers of everything medieval will be hooked into the daring battle where hero Caden saves King Arthur.
Caden is a man’s man. Burly, strong of character, not one to back down, he’s quite the hero to contend with. However, heroine Sorcha is just the one to take him on. Feisty and determined, she’s a rival fully equal...more

This is the second in a series called the Brides of Alba, set in dark ages Scotland. Caden O'Byrne, exiled Scottish prince is wounded as a mercenary in battle. He is healed by a noblewoman who sends him to find her lost daughter, who was taken by Saxons years before. He eventually finds the daughter, Sorcha a lively bard singing in a tavern, and taking part in thievery. She is also engaged to marry a Saxon thane. This is a sequel, so it is probably best to read the first called Healer. Otherwise...more
