Boone Daniels seems to have trouble finishing things. Along with the half dozen or so novels he's started, only to abandon mid-way through, his love life could be best described as a series of drive-bys.

Boone has spent the past week staying at a ski lodge in the tiny mountain town of Summit City. He's been using his time alone to write while waiting for his boyfriend to j...more

I cannot think of Ethan Day's Sno Ho except in tandem with the sequel Life in Fusion. Sno Ho ends with a happy for now ending and to see whether or not it will be a happily ever after (and you must know!) you can't start reading Life in Fusion fast enough.

That's because Ethan Day has created a romance with one of the most idiosyncratic 6"(1.83 meters) handsome hotties ever to meet a gorgeous 6'8" (2.03 meters) hulking hunk of meaty muscle.

I started reading this book just to kill a little bit of time today, but once I started it I did not stop reading it until I was finished. Boone and Wade were awesome together. I loved how Boone talked fast and couldn't shut up when he was anxious and he always said exactly what was on his mind. And Wade, *sigh*, what can I say about Wade? He's absolutely perfect! An athletic, tall, muscular, romantic "wall-man"...and completely smitten with Boone.

This was a cute, funny story with lots of "LOL"...more

Boone... what an adorable, sweet, funny, crazy, snarky character. I loved him. He did have me almost rolling on the floor with laughter. What came out of that boy’s mouth, I want to say when he wasn’t thinking, but I can’t that boy never stopped thinking, he had me shaking my head with a big smile on my face, but at the same time wishing I knew someone like him.

Wade...so opposite from Boone, maybe that’s why they worked so well together. Him I just wanted to hug, like Deeze said “a big teddy bea...more

3.5 stars OK well I have to admit that it took me a few chapters to get on board with this. I appreciate that it started uniquely (view spoiler)[with our MC waking up from a one-night stand with (what we know to be) his future love interest with no memory of the night (hide spoiler)], but it made it hard to get a read on Boone. And then I know his first interaction with Wade was supposed to be cutely infuriating but I just thought the guy was a straight-up dick. Anywho, of course I came around....more

Oh, hells yeah! This was fun and sweet and sexy and I love Boone. He’s just been dumped and you can feel the walls up as he tries to protect himself from the onslaught that is Wade. Tall, dark, and handsome ski-meister-ninja, Wade, who knows how to push all the right buttons and move into Boone’s heart. Thoroughly enjoyed this -- it's a HFN so clicking open the sequel right now.

Very cute, very funny and sweet with a side of smexy. Boone is hilarious, and Wade is no slouch either. Even when Wade is surprised by what Boone says, he is able to step right up with a funny comeback. They make a great couple both in bed and out. This moves quickly and leaves you hanging just a little, so I'm off to read book 2.

What a wonderfully funny and romantic book. Boone had me laughing almost to the end. Mr. Day has a sharp, witty way with words and the ability to draw many emotions from the reader. I loved the sexual energy and chemistry that Boone and Wade shared. The close knit town of Summit City reminded me of where I grew up. This was a totally engrossing read. Everyone should give this book a try.

Totally fun read, though I'm really glad the sequel is already out so I don't have to wait on it. That would've been rude. ;)

I loved the by-play between these two. It was just lots of fun.

Wanna-be writer, Boone, is on what he thought would be a romantic ski trip, only to find that it was a way for his physician boyfriend to dump him without having to do it face-to-face. To drown his sorrows and maybe have a little fun, Boone heads off to a bar and wakes the next morning in a stranger's bed, remembering nothing about the hunky guy asleep beside him. After making a quick escape, Boone's attempt to avoid a walk of shame goes awry when he shows up for his paid-for-by-the-ex ski lesso...more

Sno Ho by Ethan Day is a romantic comedy told in first-person viewpoint that features comical dialog and numerous, explicit sex scenes in an opposites-attract story. The situations are exaggerated enough to seem funny, but realistic enough to hold your interest, and both heroes are appealing characters. Some of the viewpoint characters’ reactions felt a little over-the-top to me, but I enjoyed the sense of real affection between the two men even as they bickered and tried to outmaneuver each oth...more

Funny and realistic

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 8/10

PROS:
- I was amused right from the start, because Boone’s reaction in the first scene is the opposite of what I would expect a guy to feel in his situation. He wakes up with no memory of the night before, and instead of being pleased with himself that he apparently slept with a very hot guy, he’s scowling and cursing the guy because Boone has a sore backside and a visible hickey.
- The narration...more

I'm going to give this 3-stars: 4 for cuteness and 2 for overal story-telling and technique. As is my custom, I rarely talk about plot in a review. I guess that's because it's told in so many other reviews and it's also available in the summaries that it becomes redundant here.

I found I enjoyed reading about Wade more than the actual protagonist. I had a hard time picturing him as being in his early- to mid-thirties. He just seemed to be rather immature. Maybe just too much 'sub' coming out. Oth...more

Ethan Day, you are one funny man! I laughed from page one through the end of the book, and quite embarrassingly loud at times, too. I have been holding out on reading this book until a winter ski vacation (to set the mood of course), and now that I have had the opportunity, it did not disappoint. This is a quick, easy read. Boone is hilarious as the insecure (but head-turning, handsome) male lead that fears commitment and who can't finish anything, because he is afraid of screwing up if he does....more

Boone Daniels thinks he is going to meet his BF at Summit City to celebrate their one-year anniversary in the ski resort where they met. Instead, his BF dumps him over the phone. The (now ex) BF has paid for the cabin and ski lessons for the week for Boone's enjoyment. Boone drowns his sorrows in a town bar and winds up in bed with hunky Wade Walker. Wade is the golden boy of Summit City and works as a ski instructor. Sno Ho is their story of getting to know each other over the holidays...more

Off topic, I must admit that in general, I don't find TV comedies (both American or UK) funny. Strangely, I find that I can laugh a lot more when watching drama/crime shows. Maybe I have a different type of humor. So, even if I find some of the scenes here as funny, and snicker at some of Boone's motor-mouth talks, in general, I don't find this as hilarious or laughing myself outloud or giggling like crazy *shrugs*.

Having said that, I do admit that Boone is a hoot -- man, the things coming out o...more

What can I say about this book...I loved it from start to finish. Boone was a very well written character with charisma and humor that made him jump out of the pages.

He is one of my all time favorite characters ever written. Boone is not afraid to be who he is and makes no apologies for it either. He doesn't care what others think of him. He can be brazen but you can't help but fall in love with him.

He goes to Summit City, Colorado for a romantic getaway with his boyfriend, Philip for their one...more

Before I start with why my opinion of this novella differs from the majority, I'll come clean and say that I do fully intend to buy the sequel.

Sno Ho drove me crazy. There's a kernel of a good story in there, but sometimes it was hard to see as it disappeared under an avalanche. What was that avalanche made of?

First and foremost, this story desperately needed an editor for punctuation and sentence construction. Hey, I'm not a grammar ho. I can definitely enjoy a good story poorly presented if t...more

First, I don't like first person stories that much. Second, I also don't like male writers too much. I tend to shy away from male writers because they just don't do it for me. There is that little bit of connection I just can't get. Third, what kind of a title is this? Sno Ho. I thought the worst!

Then the KS group mentioned it over and over again so I finally read the blurb. Hmmm, interesting. I decided to give it a try. This book is actually a 3.5 star for me. Since they don't allow 1/2 stars a...more

Judging by it's cover, I would never have decided to read this book (I live in Finland, I've been skiing all my life and I feel absolutely terrible for the poor cover boy standing butt naked on the mountain side). Luckily, it was recommended to me by a Goodreads friend when I needed cheering up. And what do you know... it worked like a charm!!! I really fell for Boone, hilarious disaster-on-legs, who made me laugh out loud too many times to count.

Boone's and Wade's story was light and fun read -...more

It was so smart to make this book free because I had never heard of the book or the author before but, free is free, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get it when I had the chance and now I am hooked. The ending of this novella is HFN and I swore to myself (when I finished this last night) that I wouldn't rush out to buy the second book 'Life In Fusion' because my TBR pile is enormous. Well, that was last night and by this morning, I had decided that I wasn't ready to let these characters...more

the very beginning (Boone waking up with the hangover) was great and really well written. unfortunately, things went so rapidly downhill from there, it seems like the rest was written by a different author.
Boone is such an annoying character once he opens his mouth! I don't want to identify with him. and that makes reading a book written in 1st person not exactly enjoyable.

I finished it though, hoping things would improve. they didn't.

what makes me absolutely angry is that this is something I...more

I can't get enough of Ethan Day. To say he is flipping hilarious would be an understatement! Besides- who can resist reading a book with "Ho" in the title?? Not I.

Amazing book! It's so romantic and funny!!!

I love both main characters!
Boone, the only narrator, with his incredible funny thoughts made this book so pleasant!
"I settled on my lowest of low rise jeans and a red plaid cowboy shirt with pearly white snap buttons. It was several years old, but hadn't been worn that much. I'd purchased it before my trip to the gay rodeo with a bunch of friends many moons ago. Many horses had been saved that weekend as many cowboys had been ridden."

This is a short, fun story; a good read for a cold afternoon. The author does a nice job setting the atmosphere, and his characters are well-developed and certainly entertaining. At times, Boone was a little too much for me, though. As were some of the secondary characters, especially the "older" inhabitants of the little town the story's set in.

Unfortunately, the story doesn't live up to its whole potential either. The beginning is brilliant, but the rest falls a little flat and doesn't live u...more

Boone had been looking forward to the ski trip with his boyfriend, who phoned him after he arrived and dumped him. Arrghh. However he decides to stay anyway and ends up in bed with hot man of flesh Wade. He doesn't like Wade much at first, but seems unable to stay away. Turns out Wade is much more popular than Boone had any clue and the fact that he's the town's Golden Boy makes for an interesting dating experience. This is chock full of Ethan Day's humour. Boone is a mile-a-minute talker with a...more

Although I felt the story started off a little rocky, it eventually got around to being enjoyable. The writing was okay, although in the beginning I didn't really think too highly of it. It didn't help that initially the characters seemed rather simplistic and a little sex crazed. However, once they both get done being sluts and start having an actual relationship, the story and the writing both seem to progress forward (although it could just be because my enjoyment of it increased.

I found Sno Ho an enjoyable, appealing contemporary story. It wasn’t heavily angst driven, but just enough “turmoil” to activate my tummy-butterflies; you know the kind of flutters when worrying whether the main couple may part-company. The fast paced story line was infused with genuine romantic experiences that flowed smoothly into the typical getting-to-know-you, which leads to the most anxiously awaited part, copulation. And man, can these two ride!

Boone Daniels is spending 2 weeks in Summit City for his 1 year anniversary courtesy of his doctor boyfriend, Phillip. Unfortunately, once he gets there, he discovers that the trip, ski-lodge, ski lessons, and ski clothes were all an elaborate apology from Phillip who is dumping him. Although he's not truly devastated by the break-up, Boone still feels rejected and heads off to the local bar where he meets Wade Walker with whom he spends a drunken, blacked-out night. Hopefully, you’ll find my books to be sexy as well as fun. Sex and romance, should be fun! If it isn’t, then perhaps you’re not doing it right.

I hope you love my characters as much as I do. With any luck they’ll inspire you the...more
