Fang Me (Demon Underground #3)
by
Parker Blue (Goodreads Author)
The vampires want it. The demons want it, too. And someone is willing to kill Val for it. Val and Fang have to find the powerful Encyclopedia Magicka before either of San Antonio's warring underworld factions locate it or the consequences will be deadly for the entire city. As usual, Val's vampire enemies (they still call her The Slayer) want her dead. Even some of her fel...more

I have enjoyed this entire series much more than I originally expected that I would have. Namely because vamp books in the current YA market seem to be trying to ride the coat-tails of Twilight with ridiculous and shallow romance and even more shallow plot.
Parker Blue has blown all that away with her series, proving that you can write an interesting YA vamp novel in this day and age.

Thank you NetGalley and Bell Bridge Books for allowing me to review this set of ebooks.
Val is a bad ass vampire slayer/succubus and you're thrown into action from the start. Val was funny and smart witted with her sarcastic behavior. I found myself laughing out loud a few times. I liked that Val was independent and didn't always depend on a guy to help rescue her in fact, she did a lot of the rescuing and protecting.

FANG ME by Parker Blue is the third Val Shapiro book, and the last I received in a free reviewer bundle through NetGalley. I’ll go over the pros and cons in a minute, but my final verdict is this: I wouldn’t pay money to read these books.
One thing that I give the author credit for is that she’s willing to change the game on her characters. In FANG ME, she severs the cord between Val and the Special Crimes Unit, and by the end she hands Val a completely new role and set of responsibilities. With...more

In Book III of the Demon Underground series, readers will once again be swept away into the world of vampires (good and bad, of course). They will once again follow the Slayer who is half human (with a little bit of succubus added in for good measure), who is doing her job and trying to ferret out evil.
Valentine Shapiro is the Slayer. A long time ago she realized that there was yet another person inside of her that she has dubbed, Lola. Lola has an immense sexual appetite and has the ability to...more

This is the 3rd book in the series Demon Underground. So far I have enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.
Val is still looking for the stolen book. But because she worded a promise wrong she is now working for the good vampires till they are found.
There is someone new to the series from LA underground Trevor who is keeper of the books. His father was keeper before him and was put in the book with magic. He warns that mage demon will want the books bad. He...more

Val Shapiro slakes the succubus part of her person by stabbing vampires – making the world safe for humans. Learning to live with her inner demon has isolated Val from the rest of the world, so she is scared and excited to find out that she isn’t the only one. Val and other members of the Demon Underground navigate a world in which demons just want to blend in; Vampires want to “come out;” and part demon dogs can talk to other demons telepathically.

Wow I didn’t sleep at all last night. I stayed up reading Fang Me. There is so much going on in this book you will not be disappointed. A new character is introduced in this book and he’s a sketchy character but so interesting. Parker does a great job with making you very curious about him and his motives and what he is. I spent half the time reading looking for clues about whether he was good or bad.

I feel like after three books, I should at least say something about the series, so here's my two cents -- I really, really, REALLY enjoy these books. The main character, Val, reminds me a little of one of my favorite heroins out there, which is always a plus.
Not to mention her dog. That dog is hilarious, and I want one for myself.
The only problem I can find in these books are the beginnings. The first one started out great, the middle was excellent, then the ending was a little lacking, so it g...more

Im torn between a five and a four, but i'll just go with four since there IS some flaws in the book that i've picked up while reading but i just cant remember it now.

Val Shapiro is 1/8th Succubus Demon, she has incredible strength, speed, as well as her other senses being enhanced. Oh...and the occasional man being uncontrollably filled with lust around her. All of these bonuses to her life make her the perfect vampire slayer / Special Crimes Unit operative / member of the Demon Underground / and Vampire Mediator.

I'm glad I stuck with this series, I think they are getting better with each book. The more I read about Val and her demon, Lola, the more I understand and like Val. I'm happy with the resolution of Dan, since I like Shade better, but I did find it a bothersome when Val kept referring to Dan as her ex-boyfriend, when they weren't really together in the first place.

Fang Me is the third installment in the Demon Underground series and features our favorite 1/8th succubus demon, Val Shapiro. At this point, Val has really become a voice of reason trusted by both vampires and demons alike. She has friends in the demon community, including hot demon boyfriend Shade and her mentor/cousin Micah, plus she's become involved in the vampire movement and is temporarily working for their leader. She's also started to embrace her inner demon and realize that "Lola" isn't...more
I received this book as a courtesy from netgalley.com; however, my review is unbiased and based upon my true feelings about the book.
"Fang Me" is another exceptional read in the Demon Underground series. In this installment Val is now under contract to work for Alejandro, vampire and leader of the New Blood movement. In addition, she is struggling with her succubus side, Lola. She has discovered that if she loses her virginity, she will also lose her strength, speed and other slayer abilities. T...more

I received an ebook review copy with Bite Me, Try Me and Fang Me from netgalley.
Favorite Lines: ” It was really nice to have an excuse to hold onto Shade, especially with Lola out of commission. Made me feel like a normal girl on a date with her boyfriend. Even Fang was quiet for a change. Closing my eyes, I enjoyed the sensation of being warmed against Shade’s body, feeling safe and cared for.” (p. 534)

Once again Parker Blue delivers a great book. I was so glad that I had a chance to read all three stories in this series back to back. I couldn’t put them down.
We start off with Val and Shade still together from the last book. This is good because I was really feeling bad for her that so many people kept turning their backs on her.
There is the same intense action in this book as in the previous two. It does leave you with a few unresolved issues. So we know that more then likely there will be an...more

This series has just gotten better as it went, and I enjoyed this book even more than the first two. I love how unique the world is that Parker Blue has created. It was action-packed, humorous, and the romance going on between Val and Shade was sizzling (while still remaining Young Adult). I read this one straight through and enjoyed every bit of it.

Review for the first three in the series:
For anyone who loves:

The Jane True series by Nicole Peeler
Why did I read it?
The entire premise of the series made me very curious.
My Rambles:
Why have I not heard of this series before? VERY fun, and I highly recommend it. Yes, there is the whole bad parents thing that I HATE in YA, but the rest of it certainly makes up for it. I devoured this series in just a couple of days and I wish there were more!

Summary of the story of the Demon Underground thus far;
My name is Val (Valentine) Shapiro, and I‘m a succubus lust demon. Well, partially anyway. I‘m only one-eighth demon, but that‘s the part that dominates my life. It‘s a bitch to keep the lust under control. I almost drained a guy dry of his sexual energy when I was sixteen, but I do a good job of keeping it in check by channeling the lust and the extra strength and speed that comes with it into slaying vampires on the dark streets of San Ant...more

This book brought about big changes for Val. She makes some inroads with her family, her work situation changes, she learns more about herself and her powers, learns more about demons, and starts to feel more secure with her relationship with Shade. Val also learns a big lesson in asking for help, that she doesn't have do everything by herself.

Whereas Bite Me and Try Me were fun and wonderfully tongue-in-cheek, Fang Me takes a turn for the serious as Val now has to determine on which path her future lies. Is her whole identity wrapped up in the idea of her as a slayer, with supernatural strength, speed and healing abilities or is it as a part-lust demon? For Val, she has to make the choice, and this crossroads takes some of the fun out of the story.
To me, the fun is the story. When Fang and Val are bantering back and forth, these are...more

I was able to get the first three copies of the Demon Underground series through Netgalley as a package deal, "Bite Me", "Try Me", and "Fang Me". I believe the fourth book, "Make Me" is supposed to come out sometime in Spring, 2012. I actually really enjoyed the series. When I first got the books, and I saw the titles and also the fact that the main character, Val, is supposed to be a 1/8 succubus demon (lust demon), I thought for sure, this would be one of those urban fantasy, erotic books. It...more

Sometimes you ask for something...and the author actually grants your wish! After reading Bite Me recently, I noted that the series would be a lot more fun if Val, who is a vampire-slaying part-succubus, actually got a decent boyfriend. I'm happy to say that in the second and third installments in the series, Val breaks up with the honorable but boring Dan and hooks up with someone much more interesting.

Fang Me by Parker Blue is the third book in the Demon Underground series. Val Shapiro is the “The Slayer,” who is on a new mission, to find the Encyclopedia Magicka, before they fall into the wrong hands. Her biggest challenge, besides finding Encyclopedia Magicka, is trying to keep her feelings for Shade under control. This is not easy, being part succubus demon. A succubus feeds on sexual energy, and has the power to enthrall men. The problem is if Val is not careful, her succubus may kill any...more
In Fang Me, Val Shapiro is faced with hard decisions to make. And what she chooses will affect her life forever. Val's love for Shade, and her powers, are in question. Shade is an amazing character. He definitely gives all of himself to Val, and allows her to be herself. This book is a turning point for Val and Shade. I’ve enjoyed reading Bite Me, Try Me, and Fang Me, so I was little sad to see Val's story coming to an end, but Parker Blue is going to write one more book in this series. It will...more
The third book in the Val Shapiro Demon Underground series was interesting. It was a bit racier than I think it should be for young adults. The story was consistant, but there were some big changes that were kind of glossed over.

The writing is the best I have ever read but I still loved these books. I devoured them and the fourth book. I'm struggling to cope with the fact that I don't have a fifth book.
Val is an enjoyable character. I love her attitude and the fact that she really has few answers but she follows her heart and seems to be right more often than she is wrong. She makes mistakes.

Who is Parker Blue? Well, I live in Colorado Springs with my dog, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Val's part-hellhound mutt, Fang.
